Yeah - but now you can watch Bablylon 5 on slashcontrol.com and stuff like that - so you got that going for you.

And, you'll find lots of little improvements in mail - like now you copy text directly from inbox messages, deleting/syncing mail back to servers _works_ now, and best of all - no more task killers.

Lotsa little easter eggs in 2.2.

And this is open advice to all dads out there: have the kids make you little coupon books for dad's day - stuff like do the dishes, help with the yardwork, clean out the garage - stuff like that. Get them every year while they're young. Use just one or two coupons from each book in fun. Save each book, year after year.

Redeem (or attempt to redeem) the rest in 15 or so years.

Absolutely worth the price of admission when you produce them.

I'm getting the exclamation point as well. Is it because my phone is rooted? Should I let it run overnight? W T F!?!?!?!?!?

If it's still doing that, try holding the volume up key and then do the power button.

I've had that panic on a botched root once, and nothing was bricked.

If nothing works after an hour, a battery pull lets you start over, but just try to first boot up the phone normally.

If it comes up with your old rom and you're still rooted - and if you were rooted with the stock rom - you can get the 2.2 yadda.6 update (8/2) stock rom at XDA.

If it re-sequences and completes the update, you'll have 2.2 - either way, if you had a full root with nand access and clockwork recovery, you won't be stuck.

Like that idea!! Wish I had made coupons that said "COME HOME". My three grown ones are all over the country.

The general thinking, supported by a public statement Monday by HTC, is that they were going to provide for us early adopters:

If you applied the unofficial EVO update, we are working to get you back on the official track. We will get back to you in the coming days

When I go to check for updates it just keeps on checking, never goes anywhere. Left it like that for maybe 40 minutes and it never found anything. Had to back out of it to stop.

I am rooted, but did not download the leaked update the other day. Strange.

I'm having the same issue, it just keeps on checking for an update. Also my Update Profile keeps crashing, had to force close it. Any suggestions anybody?

Rockplayer will play divx movies on my phone. Along with xvid and avi. Try it out.

Has anyone successfully installed 2.2 on a Unrevoked 3 rooted phone? I was thinking about downloading but not installing it natively. But instead have Rom Manager install it and see if that worked better. Looks like several folks have phones that don't go to completion because of being rooted?

I'm not getting the 2.2 update. all I get is 1.47. I guess you have to have 1.47 installed to get Froyo...

oh, well I'll probably wait anyways for a good rooted version (can't loose WiFi tethering) from hero_over (bakedsnack) or netachy or who knows maybe CM fixes the 4G on CM6 and I'll be all over it

If you have the leaked update already installed, you won't be able to manually install this. I already tried. *sad*

Just finished dl of froyo. Used wifi and download took just a few minutes maybe 3-4 minutes tops. Asked me if I wanted to install and I clicked yes. Went to take a shower and when I was done it had installed. All in all very painless so far. Now to explore froyo...
