Need some help, coing from BB storm to Rezound so I need everything. I like the HTC TPU case over at Verizon but will it fit in the desktop dock? What Car dock (window or dash) would you recommend? Where do you get the 1amp car charger? Best hookup to PC?

I believe someone mentioned in here that the phone/case would fit the car dock but not the desktop dock. You'll have to search for it. I have a write-up on a good universal dock over in the Incredible forum, should you want another option. I will simply keep my existing car mount, as it is very solid in build quality and will work with any phone; so no need to spend $$ on another one.

I tried it on my Incredible at the store last week, and it didn't work on my phone.

I read that it should work on the Rezound. Is that what you mean by "my phone" or do you actually mean that it didn't work on the Incredible?

I'm still using the Incredible. Since those phones on display are locked down, I couldn't put the charm on it; as the charm is locked down too. I bet it has to with which Sense version has the charm software. I'm waiting on the GN to come out before I decide whether to go with the Rezound or GN.

I discussed some of this earlier.

The car mount is mountable on either window (suction cup) or dash.
For the dask mount it simply includes a flat, smooth base which can be adhered to your dash, and provides a suitable surface for the suction cup to attach. It's quite unobtrusive, actually- A nice solution.

I'll try it if you buy it...

I just don't even see the point to this. A little blue-tooth charm that you could decorate yourself with, maybe, but a little thing wired to your phone, inches away?

The fact that it's attached to the phone is where some women would find it useful, instead of digging through their purses they can just pull the cord, unless they pull too hard and yank it off....

I got a question. Have any of you guys found an extra battery higher than 1620 mAh? I'm only looking for a battery with the highest mAh without the increase in size. Htcpedia used to have i think a 1700 and 1850mAh but it don't see it there anymore.

Only the larger extended battery. The ones that were temporarily listed were the wrong voltage.

I would expect that Seidio will have one eventually, and it's just a question of how many mah they squeeze into it.

Yeah, that was my thought- In any circumstance you want to use it as a leash, it'll just pull out.

The official HTC Rezound dock will NOT work with any cases on the phone. It will only work with a standard and extended battery on the HTC Rezound. The car kit though, allows you to use it with a case, standard, or even extended battery. It comes with 3 inserts therefore you will be able to use it with a case.

We were expecting 1700mAh and 1800mAh extra capacity batteries for the HTC Rezound, however upon receiving the shipment it did not pass our test. The voltage of the battery shows an invalid battery indicator on the phone, therefore we have removed the batteries from the site. We apologize for any inconvenience as we strive to make sure every accessory is 100% compatible with a device before we ship it out the door.

We have tested and can confirm 100% compatibility of the charm for the HTC Rezound. It works perfectly with the HTC Rezound as the phone was ready for the optional charm out of the box. HTC Charm Call Indicator ID C100 for HTC Rhyme, HTC Rezound

FYI - If you go into Settings you will notice settings for Charm.

I don't see this setting. Does it appear when you plug a charm into the phone? I see under Display for "LED notifications' but nothing that says "charm".

Oh and Purple isn't going to fly for most of the Rezound crowd, I'd recommend making a Rezound-red one but I can see someone using the red flashing LED to scare the neighbors when they play their music too loud by putting the LED near a window so they think the police are approaching. :D

From the home screen do the following, Menu --> Settings. It is the 3rd down, "Charm". It shows without the actual charm being plugged in. We'll write an article with images and a video about HTC Rezound charm.

On my Rezound, after hitting Mneu-->Settings, the 3rd one down is "Call". Can't find "Charm" anywhere in the settings. Are you sure you it was there before you plugged in the charm?

"Call" is 4th down on mine. I am not sure, but I did plug in the Charm into this phone once to test it, so maybe it is there because I already used a charm. Well if it is there then it is also there on your phone (hidden). You can probably use "Circle Launcher" app from the market in order to be able to find/open any hidden apps on the phone.

The only issue with using that base for dash mounting is fading around it. With the sun hitting your dash, the color will fade with time. But with the base stuck to your dash, it will shade the area under it. So when you remove the base later on, say to trade in your car, the area under the base will be much darker than the area around it, which may hurt your resale value.

I was going to do this on a vehicle, and when looking for where to buy these bases, I found a forum that was discussing this topic. Even if your car is in a garage or you use one of those windshield shades, the sun will still fade the dash color when you are driving, unless you only drive at night.

Not saying that no one should use those bases. But that thought hadn't occured to me until I read that forum, so I figured that most other people hadn't though of that either. From the pics the guy on the forum had, there was a noticable dark circle where the base was attatched, and it was only after 2 years with his truck stored in a garage when not in use. Just something to think about.:)

Yeah, that's a fair point I'd imagine.

I still like it better than a previous dash mount I had that left a ball socket stuck to my dashboard all the time, even when I didn't need to use the mount. The unobtrusiveness of the flat piece is nice, although I am using the windshield mount since the reach to that isn't too bad in my Highlander.

Today was my day to buy accessories at the friendly local corporate Verizon store. Armed with the Living Social deal, I was hoping to use the $50 gift certificate along with the sale on accessories (20% off of three, or 30% of of 5). Alas, I was not able to combine the two.

However, with the patient assistance of some great CSRs, I left the store with an extended battery, two car docks, a shell/holster combo, and a USB car charger for the grand total of $78, and that includes the cost of the Living Social deal. They were able to credit a good amount to my account, which is just like money to me. So from a retail price of $170 (albeit their accessories at regular price are overpriced) I spent significantly less.

I don't have much to tell about them yet. I assume the car charger works. It's main feature is the ability to charge two phones at the same time. We haven't tried the car dock/mount yet. The shell/holster combo seems to be better than I expected as far as its build quality, although the kickstand is flimsy. The extended battery is charging right now. The extended battery back cover seems to be solidly in place. There is no getting around the fact that adding the extended battery adds some significant weight, but in the short time I held it, it seemed to feel good ergonomically in my hand. But make no mistake, it does make for a chunkier phone.

Good point. I still remember a few service vehicles we had that had the screw on mounts left in them.

Thing is, if you're gonna have your vehicle for a long time and probably won't get much for it anyway, it's probably not an issue. Or you can try using a UV light and focus it on the area where the base was to blend it in.:D
