I've noticed stronger WiFi on the phone since the update.

LinPack gave me 6MFlops on 2.1. 2.2 Gave me, wait for it.... 40MFlops. That's just amazing. Absolutely amazing.

Now playing back large videos is smooth as hell. Scrolling through pages is smoother too. Not tried out the Wi-Fi Hotspot program yet, because I don't want to blow my data at the begining of the month again.

PSX4Droid still won't work, though.

still dont have any updates.. running 1.21-update1 on software version 1.19.707.7.. anyone from the philippines that has updated their phone to froyo?..

I also lost my 3G settings although I hadn't realised until I tried to connect.

I lost my 3g setting too and I don't know how to configure them, I thing I will go to Vodafone.

I noticed the 2.2 update removed all the APNs I had except for 3's main one, which I assume is stored on the SIM. Before I had one for mobile data and one for MMS, but now I only have one and the details look like a hybrid of the separate mobile network and MMS ones. The mobile network works fine, but I've never used MMS to know if this works or not.

I don't think Asian-spec phones have it just yet. No luck here in Singapore either. :(

mine keeps crashing and now stuck in a loop if i restart it just says updating and then will come up with force close or wait - :( either one i choose just loops back to the updating screen again... HTC bricked me! help!!!

I had this problem because I updated without my goldcard in. Thought I'd bricked the b@stard!!!! I was thinking about what excuse I was going to use to make a claim on my insurance!!!! Anyway, this is how I got it sorted.
If it has any relevance, my phone is unbranded, T-Mobile sim-locked.

1. download this : http://liveimage.htc.com/OTA_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.09.405.8-1.21.405.2_release4dua3bcrut4wrv30.zip
2. When the download has finished, rename it to update.zip (be sure not to end up renaming it update.zip.zip !!!)
3. Copy the file to the root of your goldcard.
4. I removed the sim card, although I don't know if you have to do this.
5. Turn off your phone & turn back on with the down volume key pressed.
6. Navigate to "RECOVERY" using the volume key. Tap the power button to select.
7. Your phone will enter recovery (your phone will show a red triangle on a black screen) press and hold 'Volume Up' then tap 'Power.
8. Your device should now be at the 'recovery' screen. Select the 'wipe data/factory reset' option ***** You will loose ALL your data, but hey, at least you should get your phone back *****.
9. Select "Apply sdcard:update.zip" Your phone should then go though the update.
10. I can't remember if it will automatically reboot. If not select "Reboot" in the recovery menu.

I hope this helps some of you out.
Thanks go to several sources including Modaco & this site without which I wouldn't have been able to scrabble some sort of recovery.

on tmobile unbranded phone, downloading an update atm whats the filename for froyo to make sure thats what Im actually downloading?

this is giving me error 131 :-(

Have you created a gold card for it? Not sure what that error is, but inserted my gold card, ran that file, and that was me back to 2.1. Then did the OTA update and now on 2.2. Everything lost off the phone but at least its working again.

I couldn't stand not having froyo on my orange branded desire so i have just debranded it and i'm currently installing froyo.

its now asking for the 'sim network unlock PIN'

does anyone know if that a standard pin for the phone or do i have to get the phone unlocked?
gotta pay to get it unlocked i know a place online will do it 7 pounds

I've noticed stronger WiFi on the phone since the update.

Same here! Definitely better reception!

1. Also, menu added features/apps: AppSharing, Flashlight, Navigation, News and Weather, Videos, Voice Search and Wi-Fi Hotspot.
2. HD Camcorder resolution added: 720p (1280x720)
3. Moving apps to SD card available

All together, GREAT!!!

Installed ok here. Annoyances:

Homepage changed from about:blank to htc.com.
Various bookmarks added (looks like the default ones on 2.1), but alongside my existing ones.
Ringtone changed.
Can record in h264, but not in 720p (720p records in MPEG4). Odd considering they use H264 on BluRay, HDDVD, HD broadcasting, etc.
Most apps refuse to offically be moved to SD :/

Still need to get around to checking for battery life, iPlayer performance, YouTube lip sync, WiFi hotspot, etc.

wow impressive...installed the 2.2 froyo official update :) the flashapp is grt.. video clarity need to check in pc...noticed only the good things :) video play back is smooth and simply grt...

points to be noted before downloading the official update:

1) note down the internet settings(APN or 3g) before installing
2) minimum space must be ther in phone memory(uninstall google earth if u have it installed .. :) atleast that what i did :) )

well atleast these were the bottle necks for me...
