No offense but you should send your desire back and ask for a new one because mine does that and with apps running on the back.

I thought navigating between screens looked a little smoother and it appeared a bit more responsive to me.
Okay can someone explain to me HOW these updates work?
I keep hearing talk of other manufactures releasing 2.2 soon, but NOT HTC. What I don't get is why 2.2 will already work with some phones but not others. It's only the operating system, so surely once it's working on one 'droid phone, it should work on them all.
You don't see Microsoft say, "Okay so we're releasing Windows 7 next month, but it will only work on Compaq PC's. Dell owners will have to wait another 6 months for their version to work." Is the internal architecture of different 'droid phones so diverse that some manufacturers can't use 2.2 till they've done some internal upgrades to their own firmware?
I REALLY don't understand how 2.2 can only work on certain makes, but others have to wait.

At lease your waiting for an update. My moment is 8 months old and they said their not taking it to 2.2. It took 8 months of waiting to get the 2.1 update, which they stated would come out in January when I bought the phone. I was waiting the entire time to get the adobe and now when it comes out they said it will only be for 2.2 and some 2.1 but not mine. I know things are outdated when you get them but when they stop updating them it really bites.

The browser is much faster in my froyo build, as is general opening/closing of apps and navigating through different apps.

that does suck. Bad customer support there.![]()
The christmass line was taken out of context. The original interview is, in fact, much more optimistic (it states that we probably won't have to wait as long as it was the case with 1.6 to 2.1) and christmas was mentioned while talking about gingerbread. Sounds promising lekky
So, when you're in the photo album (for example) and you want to share via twitter - the transition is much faster?
Actually thats a fair interview. Also it does point out that it's not just the Sense UI that they are updating/checking but all of their (mostly very good) apps and widgets which would explain the extended wait. Just wish they'd said something official a bit sooner.
So, Lekky, how about that "stock froyo on desire" guide?
