I read somewhere that Google makes it's development branches available to OEMs several months prior to release. That means that HTC, the biggest Android OEM, should have already started moving Sense over to 2.2 (if they're planning on doing so).
They are given beta's but not final versions. There is still a lag. The reason is this is an odd situation is Android is now fragmented and Google just released the final 2.2 version. Now HTC has to bolt their stuff on it and this will not even start until they actually allocate resources to make it happen. Not like HTC is only working with one device.
It will be a minor miracle if we see an OTA before September. Do you all believe in miracles?
With Google pulling the 2.2 update for N1, I'm thinking the current 2.2 builds aren't quite ready for prime time.Dude i really dont think it will take that long. September is too close to the point when 2.3 (Gingerbread) is rumored to be released. Besides the fact HTC has said themselves that the Incredible is one of the First devices they will be porting 2.2 over to. My guess is no sooner than a month away but no later than the end of July.
