***Official "Appointment" Thread*** aka: Steven58 hates clutter thread.

When I preordered a few weeks ago, they told me I was #3...technically I should have the 3rd appt then right? Still no call, if they say come in the afternoon I might not be too happy.
 
The stores around me that were taking appointments for this phone are already booked up. One was trying to set an apt. for me for 8:30 tomorrow but all their phones were already accounted for and said they would overnight it to me and I would have it Friday. If that's the case, I might as well order it online. I did find one fairly close that said they are opening at 8:00, no appointments and to just be there before 8 and hope for the best. They got 40, but said they have plenty in the warehouse.
 
Went to the mall in Riverside, IL this just a bit ago to have lunch & decided to see if the Verizon Kiosk (corporate kiosk) had the D-X on display. Asked the guy he said yes and pulled one from behind the counter annd let me play with it. Coming from a Nexus One the screen on the D-X is HUGE and it appears to be snappier.

Sales associate asked if I'd like to make an appointment to pick one up tomorrow? I said does that guarantee I'll get one tomorrow & he said we are honoring all appointments they make to get a D-X in hand tomorrow and said I only have 7 left.

So I jumped on the offer, he took all my information and did the credit check. Didn't have to leave a deposit but was given a receipt with an order number. I figured screw it I'll just wait a few weeks for the 100 dollar rebate. Since I already had a pre-order at Best Buy but was told I was #33 on the list when I pre-ordered. I had called best buy this morning and they said they would have to call me back once they start making appointments this afternoon. Asked Best Buy if they guarantee I'll get one tomorrow and they said they cannot.

I cut out 2 pieces of card board to size, stapled them together, and then glued an acurate size picture of the face of the phone to the cardboard. Lol it actually turned out pretty good.

When I set this 'appointment' the manager kind of gave me this sly look that this was her way of 'pre-ordering' since she couldn't do that outright. We shall see tomorrow at 8.

I too am getting sick of all the varying info from Verizon employees. It seems that for a corp. so large they would have company standards.

congrats to ya. If they didnt have that silly non sense about no full retail here, until next week, I would be at the store by 6 am LOL
 
hope it works out for you..i would be at the store bright and early with a pre-order ...errr ...appointment if I could be too.:)
 
Just called BB because I just couldn't wait any longer. I mean what if they forgot about me. Well I call at 12pm, PST, and they say they haven't receive them yet.

Ugh, so nerve racking.!

I asked when they expected to get them in, and she said by end of day.

Can't Wait!

Already grabbed the Bodyguardz full body protector.

As for Cases, still don't know if I should go with the Body Glove case or the Shell Holster Combo. Worried that the Holster Combo might scratch the sides of the phone going into the holster. But then again, I do like wearing the phone outside of my pocket though... decisions decisions.

Any recommendations?
 
My Best Buy just called me, my appointment is for 6 pm tomorrow after I get out of work. When I asked him to confirm the retail price he sounded like he thought I was going to cancel, but I'll definitely be there if I cant order it online tonight.

I'm pumped.
 
Got my call about 2 hours ago and they have plenty in here in Tampa, FL. Mine is set aside along with the other preorders but no appointments are being made here its just a come in and pick it up. So I will be there at exactly 9:30 for the doors to open. Also someone just posted another thread for an additional 500 reward points with the print out coupon.
 
just got the BB call. I'm in tomorrow at 11am to pick up my X from Best Buy! woo hoo! finally getting rid of this Windowz phone!

AND, I talked VZW into moving my upgrade date to July 13th. So I can get 2 year pricing. I was not due till august 2010. But after 5 emails they relented. YES!
 
Finally got my call back from BB....picking mine up at noon. They said they only got 3 in their shipment. I don't think they got too many pre-orders either.
 
I just got my call. Funny, too...I was reading a post about someone who just got called, and halfway through it, the phone rings!

1 P.M. tomorrow = Droid X goodness...
 
My VZW stores open regular time tomorrow at 9, so I think I'm gonna get there around 7:30 and if nobody is there i'll just wait in my car. :p
 
Ok, best buy totally boned me. They didnt get enough in to fill my preorder. I went called verizon store and went into it. it was awesome! This lady Jerilynn has me on here personal list and i am guaranteed one tomorrow. She said i dont even have to wait in line, just call her when i wake up and she will tell me if the lines are gone lol. I got a car dock and silicone skin for 41 dollars, pretty happy about that. Screw best buy. Now i gotta find something to spend my 50 dollars on there. I forgot i get 25% off all accessories through general motors.
