Now, if I may beg a query, how did you use the phone to get 12 hour battery life?

Just curious as to how it compares to my own use pattern.

Do you mind showing the entire screen with that speedtest so we can see that 4G LTE connected sign. If that in fact is an LTE connection and not WiFi, that's a beautiful latency there buddy. What market are you in?

battery life improved once again

secret sauce finally added to software. getting 15+ hours of battery life now

decent usage throughout day. push email checking in, multiple widgets pulling content all day long.

Interesting! Yoda, if I might be so bold, can you tell us whether that display really does suck or not?

I'm pissed that it's not 4.5" after all, but is it as pixelated as everyone says it is?

I like the display. It's very crisp.

Not sure what people say about the pixels. Must be the young eyes.
 
Just from looking at that photo, you can see the pentile. The gradients aren't that great, but the coloring looks pretty accurate.

Also, please take more photos!

And go on the IRC at the top. So much faster to talk there.

You can go to Verizon store and take look at DX2 for pentile pixels as it has pretty much the same screen as Bionic.
 
I will be the first to say.....as many a Pentile debate I've been in...

I totally didnt see it until it was pointed out. I looked at that pic at least 5 times earlier, left the site, came back to these new posts...and wouldnt have even noticed it.

I can see the rough grain of the gradient backgrounds, but that could be caused (at least on a desktop LCD) by a cheap 18-bit rather than 24-bit panel.

The displayed text looks good to me, but smaller and finer fonts might reveal another story.

Part of the problem is that there's no way that you'll see any subpixel issues of a 960x540 display in a mostly-encompassing photo that's itself 912x684 pixels.

Yoda, any chance you can take an even closer macro photo with smaller text, ideally w/colored foregrounds and backgrounds? TIA.

BTW, not to be obnoxious or anything... but the phone in the pic doesn't actually contain any identification as being a Bionic...

It's totally a Bionic, no other Moto phones had that flat bottom lip with the logo in that position, with the little hole for the microphone.

All I know is this photo has caused irreparable damage. I simply can not wait for this to drop, and this pic has made me need to have it. I'll put it like this, I'm going to Disney in Sept, yet I'm more excited about the possibility of having my Bionic in hand when I go.

Same here...almost. Going in October and can't wait to get down there and play with the 4G. You know...and ride the rides or whatever.

Oh yeah, I can see it now. I don't know. I think that you'll be irritated by the screen only if you put your nose up to it. If you're looking at it from a normal distance of around 2 feet away, I don't think it will matter.

Now, if the Stratosphere does turn out to be the SGSII, and I compare the 2 screens, that will be another story.

looks like my og droid. verizon logo in the same place, mic hole in the same place. bottom buttons are moved (thats going to be annoying to get used to), but photoshop can do that with ease.

clearly, more pics are necessary. video would be even better.
