It only took them six days to start testing leak #1 OTA, so why haven't they done the same with leak #2?

For the hundreth time, it really doesn't matter what some retail clerk or anyone on this forums opinion is. From Brenda Raney, VZW Wireless CorpComm Spokesperson, on 4/22/2010 via email:

"We fully intend to update the Droid Eris as planned........Please be patient. I don't have a firm date but we will update the phone."

Like it or not, that's the official position.

I wonder why they only allowed us to install it over the weekend. I don't think that's fair to all the people that didn't know they were supposed to dial that number over the weekend to get the OTA. They should have made it available much longer than just a weekend! I'll bet there are thousands of people that completely missed out and, now that they no longer service the Eris, they'll have to live with 1.5 or the buggy leak! :eek:

When I called the number it sent a patch called "ubuntu Eris edition". Version 2.4.1, pretty cool stuff. :D. Now all I need is to get that damn google navigation to work.

1. global forums. People want news and info on 2.1
2. People work and get paid a good living. They are entitled to spend their money on what every they like.
3. The incredible is a great phone there is no reason to hate on it.

Eris is an ok phone. It has its issues as will the incredible. The hardware is nice on the incredible. The hardware in the Eris was kick butt a few years back. If it does the job for you that is awesome but for others it does not.

If you don't care about all those things, and you just want a phone for messaging and calling, then why the H*LL are you in forum thread titled "Official Droid Eris 2.1 OS Coming very soon." go message your buddies, forums aren't for casual users.:mad:

To clarify, i don't hate the Incredible, Its Verizons Nexus One, I just didn't like that in every other Eris topic ppl are talking about the incredible instead the Eris.

And Haxcid, Thanks for a civilize response to my post, at least you have respect, not like others.
 
We have seen 1.6, 2.0 and now maybe 2.1 come and go with no love. With the release next month of Froyo (2.2) could it be that 2.1 has been scraped for the Eris and our next OTA will be to 2.2?
