No actually I think that's probably the worst thing you could do. Now I've only put one set of skins (Touch Pro) on but the skin on your finger is going to stay moist much better then a latex glove and you don't want the skin's sticky side sticking to those latex gloves because I would think that once it hits a dry spot on the latex that it's stuck forever and you'd have a major disaster!

Just my two cents

I use microfiber gloves, works like a charm. :D

Wow, played with one at a Sprint store on lunch, they just got it in Fri. Ran it through the paces, great phone. I'm even more excited to have mine in my hands!

Lucky. I went in to one of the local Sprint stores at lunch and said, "Hey, I wanted to take a look at the Evo your rep has." She looked at me and said, "We don't have one.... (long pause) ..that we can show the public yet." :D

I asked this in the incredible forum, and got a partial response.

I would to know if mail notifications (google, yahoo) count as SMS/text message? They answered me "No"

What about facebook?

My girlfriend wants me to set her incredible to receive facebook notifications when someone writes something on her wall, answers something from her posted pictures, something directed to her, etc.

Do those notifications count as SMS/text message?

I'd appreciate any input. (I am curious as well since I am going to set up EVO that way, but I don't have to worry about my SMS count since we will have unlimited with Sprint, but she only has 250 with Verizon)

Thanks!

Everyone - I updated the site (Explain the Fee!) with the following and more:

If the "Premium Data" charge is not for the 3G nor 4G network access and the charge is for the phone features, why is it that all of the "Premium Data" features are listed as technical specifications of the HTC EVO 4G phone? If I were to take this phone to a non-Sprint area, such as the south pole, would those "Premium Data" features work, such as the 4.3" screen, HD Camera/Camcorder, faster processor, and even kickstand? Would I be able to use these features in Airplane mode?If I can use those in a non-Sprint area or in Airplane mode, why must I pay $10 a month to use this "add-on" when I'm not using Sprint's data network? Can you please explain the fee?

Just had to tell everyone....getting my EVO Friday morning at 8:00 from Radio Shack. They are going to email me the available accessories tonight. They said to email them back what I wanted & they would have for me when I pick up the phone. I am really excited.

i *just* spoke to the RS in san francisco where i preordered my evo.

they said they will have car chargers and screen protectors on june 4th but that is it.

they said the screen protectors would be write-right and the radio shack "house brand."

yes. Writerights are junk.

So when did you guys (gal) order yours? Just curious as to how long it takes to ship. I'm on the east coast so I'm guessing 3 days.

5/6

Sprint is a funny company. Its like a quirky marriage that you think of getting out of, until you see how costly the competition is, then you take another look at your spouse and decide he/she is not so bad after all.:D

OMG, this literally made me LOL really loud!!!

I keep seeing stuff about keeping your hands clean and sprayed. Would it not be wiser just to buy some cheap latex gloves and use those when applying the screens?

No, that would be horrible!

I ordered mine on 5/8/2010, so the wait was about 3 weeks.

It's all affixed onto a cardboard-like sleeve, so I just gently caressed it to get a feel for it...don't judge me. :o

This ALSO made me LOL! No judging!

Agreed!

I'm sorry, if I can't find a brick in mortar to put on the screen protector, it looks like i will have to go back to zagg. I'm not going through the hassle. I would rather learn how to root a phone than put on a screen protector.

Is it just me, or is anyone else's work productivity decreased in the last few weeks? I should have just taken these last few weeks off.:D

so i know this guy who owns a Sprint kiosk at the mall, didnt have to pre order my evo because he said i was set up with him. So this Sunday i went again to make sure everything was ok...he now tells me that im going to have to wait till possibly Saturday to get my phone because apperently their only giving evos to new subscribers and not add lines...which is what i did, i added a line about 2 months ago to get the evo for $199. Now i'm kind of nervous my phone wont even get shipped on saturday, because he says its from a totally different stash, not the same stash they get for fridays release...Worried! Does anyone here have this same problem?

I know I already asked this but this is the 2nd source that says that upgrade customer have to fork over 299.99 to get the EVO. We were all under the impression that New and existing customers with 150$ upgrade eligibility could all get it for 199.99. I will still pay the extra 100 but I think its very lame if true. A sprint CS rep told me that it would cost me 199.99 with my yearly premier upgrade. I will get a hold of them again to verify to see if they had a change of heart on the pricing. I will report my findings later.

No I think maybe you just don't have a sense of humor.

Well since you don't know me you don't know how wrong that summation is. I have as sophomoric a sense of humor as any Caddyshack loving 56 y/o. On forums like these though I'd prefer for topics to stay on topic.

Not liking 'I like her wet!!! ohhh wait thought u were talking about something else LMAOOOO' and me having a sense of humor are not mutually exclusive.

You probably think SNL now is funny. I remember when it really was.

Cheers! And stay off my lawn.

If you go through radioshack or bestbuy you get the phone for $199 plus tax out the door which INCLUDES and instant rebate and the $150 off. If you go through sprint you pay the $299 price which is after the $150 off but then you will have to mail in the $100 rebate form which will then give you a net cost of $199 after that fact. Both these scenerios are for the ones that are actually eligible for the full upgrade.

Dry, the static cling wont stick to microfiber, this is the same material that auto detailers use to polish rims. It releases no fiber what so ever.

Microfiber for applying and removing polish and wax, waffle weave for wet-drying.

Detailing is an obsession.
