Well since you don't know me you don't know how wrong that summation is. I have as sophomoric a sense of humor as any Caddyshack loving 56 y/o. On forums like these though I'd prefer for topics to stay on topic.

Not liking 'I like her wet!!! ohhh wait thought u were talking about something else LMAOOOO' and me having a sense of humor are not mutually exclusive.

You probably think SNL now is funny. I remember when it really was.

Cheers! And stay off my lawn.

whatever you say, sir

Quick ? for you guys. Will my HTC Touch Pro accessories work with this phone? ie. car/wall charger.

@ hopalee can't believe I'm 2 days older than u. Respect your elders :p

Yes. The car/wall charger for the Touch Pro will work with the Evo.

EDIT: Evo uses the Micro USB connector, whereas the Touch Pro uses a Mini USB, my apologies.

I thought the touch pro was like my touch diamond, mini usb. Isnt the evo micro usb?

You're absolutely right, and beat me to it before I could edit my original post. I am wrong, and failed to realize until I picked up my Touch Pro. Evo uses Micro USB -- Touch Pro uses Mini - my mistake.

If you go through radioshack or bestbuy you get the phone for $199 plus tax out the door which INCLUDES and instant rebate and the $150 off. If you go through sprint you pay the $299 price which is after the $150 off but then you will have to mail in the $100 rebate form which will then give you a net cost of $199 after that fact. Both these scenerios are for the ones that are actually eligible for the full upgrade.

I just got off the phone with sprint and they confirmed that if you have a 150$ upgrade you get the EVo for 199.99. They told me not to believe everything on the internet (duh). Well Im glad I got that confirmed.;):):D

Microfiber for applying and removing polish and wax, waffle weave for wet-drying.

Detailing is an obsession.

Ditto, I use "mothers" metal polish with microfiber cloths, leaves my rims nice and shiny. Although I prefer chamois for wet drying.:D

TS will probably get mad at me, but chamois have a potential to scratch your car (granted this is REALLY anal, but as I said, it's an obsession). A waffle-weave towel will complete absorb all liquid. To quote the detailing handbook:

"As far as drying your car, it is not recommended that you use drying products that do not have a knap such as the California Water Blade or the Absorber. Products such as this can trap particles against your paint causing marring and/or scratching. Towels that have knap will pull any particles on the paint into the knap thus keeping the debris away from the paint."

...So this reminds me of the Evo in... I'll get a yellow cover to match my car?

at 9am on Friday I will have two brand new evos-at 11:59am both evos will be completely dead!!

Had to take my family to seaworld to get my mind off this damn phone.

Want to skip that little 30 minute appointment for the phone though; that is going to be such a waste of time!

The price of the phone is 199 if you qualify for the upgrade, I am not disputing that. What I am telling you is if you go through sprint you will pay 299 up front then do a mail in rebate for the additional 100.

Sprint price:

449.99 less:
150 upgrade
299 This is what you pay sprint at the register, less mail in rebate of
100 (after keeping the phone activated for 30 days)
199 total price after receiving rebate

Bestbuy/Radioshack

199 plus tax out the door without having to deal with any rebates yourself.

Trust me when I tell you if you go to a sprint store you will be paying $299 plus tax and then will have to wait for the mail in rebate.

Yeah... What is the 30 minute appointment about? What exactly is gonna go down in that time frame? If its some kind of quick tutorial for the phone then yes I will be trying everything I can to skip that.

Personally I think the 30min appt is RIDICULOUS! I mean seriously...who are the majority of people that have ordered this phone?! I'm not saying everyone knows Android, but for the majority of people whether they know it or not would rather learn it on their own without someone over their shoulder. At this point without the phone being advertised to the "general public", mostly people who are already internet/tech savvy to some point can probably have their phone up and running in no time at all...this is my opinion only!

It's great if they offer a "tutorial" appt to those who would like a quick overview or what not, but I really just want me time with my new Evo and not someone else goobering it up LOL

EDIT: Maybe they are allotting for system lag, account issues, and the such...not so much "teaching" use of the phone!

ha ha ha. sprint reps who live in glass houses...

(btw...the sprint store in san francisco told me is was $299 with a $100 MIR.)

Just had to tell everyone....getting my EVO Friday morning at 8:00 from Radio Shack. They are going to email me the available accessories tonight. They said to email them back what I wanted & they would have for me when I pick up the phone. I am really excited.

And you'll be posting the details from the RS message for your compadres here at AF...Si?

I preordered mine through radio shack. :D

Well I do my own stuff, I'm not a detailing specialist, but I have never noticed scratches using chamois. Albeit I have never took a microscope to any of my cars to confirm it or not. And if I do I would just buff them out with a rubbing compound. When it comes to being anal, I can relate especially when I'm rebuilding engines, I have to use a machinist precision to make sure its flawless. Especially when it comes to installing internal engine parts such as piston rods and rod connectors. They have to be balanced perfectly. Enough about cars and back to the EVO. TS feel free to delete these post since they are irrelevant to the subject matter. Sorry I was just itching to respond. :p

If they try to pull the 30 min appt. tutorial BS I'll just be like "im very busy today just want it activated. Also Id rather you not touch it at all unless u have to."

My BB was very uncooperative. As far as I'm concerned just gimme my phone and I'll be on my way.

$print has always given me a credit on my cell phone account instead of mailing me a rebate check. I'm OK with that, but I have to ensure that on subsequent months $print does not give me less credit. I wish they would have mailed me a check and then charged me the same usual amount on my cell phone bill. Oh, well!

Or they could be using the time to give you a PR talk on how fortunate you are and how othere who have not got the phone will be so jealous ... Seriously, though, I think 1/2 hour might not be sufficient time. A few months ago, I bought a new phone for my wife and the Sprint (oops, I meant $print) rep took longer than 1/2 hour to get the account set up. With all the stuff he had to type and all the questions he would answer other people while walking from one end of the store to the other.
