Id say themain thing to focus on for you is how to guarantee 5 phones at the same location without a pre-order =). Best Buy and Wally mart use instant rebates, but best buy does pre orders and wally mart usually does not. BUT lots of wally marts open at midnight too so.....=) I'm getting mine at best buy mose likely. Have gotten all my phones from them and have had zero issues. I like the geek squad insurance plan too, they cover a lost or stolen phone.
I think it will come in both black and white . That's what Jackson said but idk if he confirmed it . So I don't want to pin it on him . Whatever color it comes other then black (if it does) I'm going for that . I think a lighter color can compliment the wallpapers and stuff . I hope they come with matching accessories to if it comes in something other then black . I think gray like the HERO would be nice with chrome accents or a bronze color with black or chrome accents .
But I know in the review from Noah from phonedog they mentioned the battery will be red and I only see that matching with black . So probably will be in black only =/
SP, I can understand why you're upset with ajac, because he's so contrary. Even though quite a few of us have said things to him, he doesn't get it. He doesn't understand that you have the device and that you're one of the testers. If he does understand, then he's just a trouble maker and he will be dealt with. I hate the disruption he's causing.I'll bite. Right now, you are creating points over a topic that's beyond hearsay. How do you know that the device went through FCC? That can't be it since you don't believe what Jackson says. Wait, weren't you the one who believed that Sprint was going to have a huge media blitz on Friday, based on what Jackson stated? Epic fail from Sprint, right? Interesting. How long does it take a device to pass through the FCC? Could a device get resubmitted to the FCC? How long would that take for that resubmitted device to pass through the FCC? Take all the time you need to answer those questions. Bonus question, if Voice + 4G becomes final, would Sprint need a new FCC Filing?
Bill and Norril: Try company, Sprint, and HTC. Thanks for the love from everyone who shown me it. Nothing encourages you more, when people you don't know embraces you and give you a pat on the e-shoulders lol. This is what fuels Insiders to do what they do.
Edit: Props Nate. You're right, and for that I'm done. I'll be back when Sprint officially announces more info to the public. It's been real forum, and thanks for the love again.
Yup he did. Its too bad people attack others instead of respecting them..people like that go into the ignore box.Did ajac09 just state that we all worship the ground that jackson walks on?? Sounds like someone really got touchy about april 16th.
Under the battery. That came out at CTIA.Here is a quick question for Supersonical or anyone who has had an Evo in their hands recently. As I as leaving work today I had the opportunity to play around with a colleague's HTC Touch Pro 2 while we were chatting about the Evo. Well for some reason the conversation drifted into a problem he was having with his memory card as I opened his phone and looked there was a sim card slot, mind you this took me a bit by suprise because it's a Sprint branded phone. Any idea if there will be a similar sim card slot on the Evo?

It could happen if Verizon would get on board with a WiMAX/LTE merge. It seems like it was called dual-radios, but don't quote me. If that were to happen, the EVO or another device like it could become a world phone. How great would that be for all of us!? I doubt this will happen anytime soon, but anything is possible.WOW! I must have missed that. Any idea if the radio will operate on GSM networks as well? I do leave the US about once a year and usually pick up a pre paid phone wherever I go but that's pretty cool.
No, you're right Rgamer. Welcome to the forum. I was thinking of the microSD card slot. Sorry.I think billsmed misread that. There will not be a sim card slot in the EVO. The sim card slot is in the TP2 because it is a world business phone.
That wasn't how I read it, Nate. Thanks for setting me straight on SP.thats because the tp2 is a world phone . i dont think the evo is a world phone . i think they would of mentioned that at ctia . but who knows things can change . i mean the first wimax phone ever was not in the states but was made by htc . but i think there wimax frequency is a little differ .
and and bill he wasnt mad at me . he thanked me and took my advice in the edit one . he is not punishing us all . he said he will be back when he get's official info .
and orion i hope you are right with the variety of colors . but if the battery does come in red with the guts to match in red how would that look with the device itself in different colors ? unless that one is exclusive to the black one and the other colors will have there own ?

Precisely. Now I could go with peace. Props River. If HTC has it together. The final product can be approved in a few hours, well bet that is approved already.
And the final product is being produce right now.
Well everyone please just calm down. Everyone wants this device now.
We all know sprint made a mistake showing the phone off 2 months in advance.
But there are some problems with "tidbits".
Let me state a few. Sprint could throw in 16 gb memory into the evo. Could happen. But the problem is right now that is the most wanted memory chip on the market. So if they promise 16 gb and can not deliver, then they get hammered.
They could promise 1,001 other things, and if they can not produce them with high quality and quantity they get hammered.
Yes they made a mistake, by showing it off, this is a company that can will usually drop the ball if given a chance.
They should have showed it, and released in 2 weeks, like Verizon.
They also have no clue how to work the critics, the fanbois, and the media.
This is sprint after all.
If at any point you think that sprint is going to step up and take full and complete control of all things EVO, bad news. They messed up on the hero, the pre, and the tour.
So, to the people that want it now or tomorrow, tough, you are not going to get it.
To the people that think they should have the inside track or be cratered to by product development, I am sorry.
It is not going to happen.
This is sprint.
They have improved in soo many ways, CS, data rates, coverage, treatment of workers.
But they are just dumb when it comes to dealing with product releases.
And before you get on the keys and start pounding, I will give you one solid reason.
Now everyone knows what the top phone will look like. They know where the bar is. They know how high to climb and how far to go.
All apple has to do is release a iphone with 16,32,64 memory, 1ghz processor, and a hdmi out. Once they do that, no one will defect from apple.
But this is sprint.
Now about the above statement.
I happen to know something about that.
Usually when you start production of the product you start the FCC filing. That can take from a week to 1.5 months. I have seen it take 3 days, for the first filing.
Other filings can be handled in a few days to a few weeks. Depending on how drastic the changes are.
The rule of thumb. Not including delivery and upper management. It takes about 15 hours for first approval, and about 1 hour for second approval.
That works out to be about 3 days for the first one, and a few hours for the second one.
But that is just approval, not all the admin stuff.
If htc has it together. The final product can be approved in a few hours, well bet that is approved already.
