Not enough, bring on the 10GB! :D

64GB would be REALLY nice on the EVO ;).

Would 64 gigs be the first for a phone? I think so but I don't want to be wrong ... again. It would be real nice to have all that room. That's clearly a laptop in the pocket. & I have a bunch of movies I burn and download or upload to torrent sites that come out.

I really want to see how Swype would feel on the EVO. I imagine it's awesome. Now that I know the new touch ability is crammed in the EVO as well as the Incredible. I have to get my Swype from a torrent and just drag it to the SD. Simply install it. Lovely on the hero.

i could see where it would be useful for international calling/communications.

Every one see's the potential benefits in a different light. maybe with the EVO and the front facing camera you may change your mind about google voice if thats one of the few ways you can have a video call.

so can't you bang some heads at BB and find out some inside info for us? or maybe hack into the inventory system or stowaway overnight after closing?

I checked the inventory system, we don't even have a SKU for it yet. I have asked everyone that would have any idea. You guys know more than they do. Believe me, you guys will be first to know when I hear something. We didn't even get info about the incredible until the beginning of last week.

i have no interest in video calling. what's the purpose? i like to hang out and relax unshaven and in my boxer shorts. i don't want people seeing that.

Exactly I think it would be have more use that way for people that have unlimited plans and like the guy said, for his friends that don't have unlimited. But it will be numerous ways and I believe the EVO will take advantage of them all.

But I know it can open up the areas to IM apps and any app that has this feature. You will soon forget that it's a phone. They are bringing the full laptop/pc experience to us.

I use Skype video chat with my little brother in AL. That way his daughter and my son can see each other. Otherwise they only see each other twice a year. It's not even about the long distance call.

Well, I guess it wouldn't be in use in that situation smh lol. But I think that feature will be nice. I hope they can implement that feature into a gaming app or something. Or look at multiple people that are able to video chat with a mobile device or IM client and have it split in a grid view on the EVO. Think that is possible ? If so I think it should do four tops.

Now that I think of it more and more....there is no way that Sprint is not going to market/advertise the EVO in the right way. This isnt like the Palm Pre, last year.

This isnt an attempt to "save Sprint from bleeding" or trying to dig Palm out of the grave. Plus Sprint really didnt have much control over Palm's marketing strategy. But now, this is Sprints Flagship Android phone, its first 4G phone...the EVO is going to be the top of line Sprint phone, as well as spec wise the best phone on the market.I expect them to do a full on marketing blitz for the EVO, the same as they have been doing 4G commercials, or the newer ones with Dan about Customer guarantee. It honestly now seems like a step by step, ingenious marketing ploy by Sprint.

First, you advertise 4G, and the high speed experience it brings....next you advertise how Customer Service has improved, and your guarantee towards it.....then bam

Introduce the EVO, the nations 1st 4G phone on the Now Network...bring new customers in hook line and sinker.

I hope your right. I was in my local Sprint store, replacing my wife's Pre... Going for sale on craigslist or trade for a hero..... and there was this guy in the store complaining about Sprints Coverage and his Blackberry and another guy just complaining about the Pre all together. Both of them we're on there 4th or 5th replacement and you know what that means... 6th replacement and you get to move over to another phone. We'll the Pre guy's intentions were transparent enough, but the trucker that hated his blackberry kept saying he's going to Verizon.

So I asked, if it was because of the Incredible... he had no idea what I was talking about. I further mentioned the Evo and he still had no idea what I was talking about.... I couldn't believe it so I pulled up Bill's page on phandroid and he was in awe! I explained 4G, but I also told him about hows it's not everywhere, but in most cases it will be. This guy looked to be in his 40's and didn't know what 4G was. If Sprints going to do something, it needs to be more than whats out there now!

I've seen the 4G commercials, but unlike the rest of the commercials I fast forward through, I actually watch Sprints Commercials. This guy seemed to care less. We need to see it stepped up a few notches. Look at us, how long have we been waiting on new news. We'll wait because the EVO speaks to us in our dreams, like a siren at sea or what ever... Sprint needs to get to the mainstream audience that only knows blackberry or iPhone... Just say'n...!

Agreed!!! That's one of the negatives of trying to be super secretive about a new phone because they miss those people who are over marketed with iPhone commercials and used to seeing Blackberry commercials. The EVO for us in this thread is a hot and completely awesome and game changing device but the EVO to someone that only knows the reputation of the Blackberry and the iPhone are could care less about what it can do because it doesn't have the reputation the other two have.

He sounds like one of them guys who are not into those types of phones. Would be nice if they could introduce this to everybody. But some, not all, but some older people are just not interested into these high end phones. They are not complicated to use. They just see the flashy things and assume it's to much going on.

But most likely next month the media will be all over it.

So, I'm just quoting myself for those that didn't see my post about the EVP email.

Am I the only one that posts on this thread that doesn't get EVP?

I have no idea what EVP is or how you got it. Can you explain for me and whoever else may be out of the loop??

TIA!

On that topic, does anyone know how I can forward hotmail to my gmail account? This will be my first Android so I would like to make my gmail my primary email.

EDIT: They only allow forwarding to a custom domain or a hotmail.com, live.com, or and msn.com email.
You can set up your gmail account with POP to get mail from other email accounts. It's in the help files

^ VERIZON IS NOT GETTING THE NEXUS ONE! BAHAHAHA

ohh cool, they are still testing though...

Yeah because they got a better phone instead Bahahaha lol, the incredible is a superior phone so their is no reason to carry the N1. I wish sprint would get the desire or some other variant of the N1 instead of the N1 as well, I'd much rather have sense on top of android myself, not only that but the screen is much better on the incredible than the N1, I hope HTC uses the same tech from the incredible and Evo in all future touch screens so they don't have anymore problems with the multi touch or pinch to zoom.

Apple are such BITCHES!!!!!!!!!!! Free hype...hmmmmm,now lets press charges! Dick move Apple, just saying. :)

Taking a cue from Jackson, this might be a bit off-topic, but still great to look at...

Gizmo editor's house was raided by the cops because of the "stolen iPhone".. Check out the link at Engadget.

Agreed, I can't beleive this BS shot at the guy!

I actually receive a discount off my bill for working for a certain company, so i assume that puts me under the EVP right?

I thought it was just a percentage off your plan, but are there any other benefits to being an EVP?

Sometimes EVP does pre-orders, which they are doing for the EVO (although, not sure I'll be buying through them because it seems like they still don't do instant rebate). Just go to their website, enter in your email address and if the company you work for is connected through EVP, someone will contact you regarding future purchases or upgrades.

Now if the phone does really sell for $199 it will be a Godsend. I'm not saying it won;t happen, because it would be in Sprint's best interest to do this, but heck to buy this phone outright is going to cost you somewhere in the $800 range sp Sprint is going to be shelling out alot for customers. Don't be dissapointed if its more around $250 though because thats a little more of reality, atleast right now.

I don't know about others here, but I sure hope this thing isn't $800 out of contract. I got a Hero last October, so I am barely into my two year agreement. The HD2, while not the exact same as the Evo, is pretty similar and T-mo is selling it for $449. I know the screen sensors and radios are different, and I am sure there is some premium on WiMax radios compared to GSM radios. If I remember, the iPhone 3GS is $599 without contract. I don't know VZW's full retail price for the Incredible, but BB is apparently going to sell it for $599. Of course, BB sells their phones higher than the wireless providers when selling out of contract.

I sure hope Sprint doesn't price itself out of the market, both for contract-sales and those who buy outright. I'll drop serious cash on this phone, but there are limits.
