BTW...I have been searching and can't find posts discussing Sprint employees being blocked from vacation in early June? I Googled it and found a lot of mention about AT&T blocking vacation during June for the new iPhone. So...I may have inadvertently perpetuated a false idea. Perhaps someone can verify if any vacation blocks have been made for Sprint employees. Oh....and just a warning....a lot of the searches bring you back to my posts. So I don't know if I mistook AT&Ts news for Sprints news...but could have sworn Sprint told it's employees not to take off during a certain period of time for the EVO 4G release?

i posted a while back that my local (chicago) store manager confirmed they have a vacation black out around june 6.

Guys the phone will be released with 2.1. Don;t listen to ajac, clearly if he said, and i quote "i saw 2.2 with my own eyes" he is an out right fraud. he also said the phone will only come with 1gb internal memory. I have the e-mails if he wants to debate this. That is also false. There will be equal or more mem than the incredible has.

The phone will also come with talk and surf capabilites, with no charge for 4G, and unlimited 4G usage when you us the phone as a mobile hotspot for a fee of around $15.

Like i have said before and SP has also touched upon, ALL DATES ARE TENTATIVE!!! I am lucky enough to have a close friend as an insider who tells me things like it is. Not always what i want to hear and tell you all. But hey, the phone is going to be released in June. If you want it in May, please feel free to send Sprint an e-mail staing you want a phone that is not ready and can't function to its full ability yet. Theres a real smart move...

If you have a problem with SP and I, and say we are fakes, then please by all means just use google and screw the forum. That won;t get you very far but hey be my guest and be left in the dark with RUMORS.

I really don;t want to leave because soo many of you have been great and shown me awesome support, but heck, i don;t know if its some of your nerves, in-patientness, or low self confidence every time you have been doubting me lately.

SP him self said this earlier, we don;t post for us, we already know everything we want to, we post because we like to help the community, our community right here at phandroid. You know on multiple occations I've said how much i love you all, and i do. So please, enough of this i hope your wrong and I'm not listening to you this time BS, because then you just don;t hurt me but your going to hurt yourself when your magical sky fallen dates tomultuously become a big bust.

Evo's gonna be fresh, I can't wait to get mine. I agree that it would be awesome to have a new thread after release so we can all talk about our experiences, I would be lost without you guys =]]]

Jackson, I told you before back in the sprint forum days and I will tell you again, ignore the negativity. You, SP, and eieio are doing very well. I know it comes to a point where people lose their common sense and start to believe their own thoughts over facts or knowledge. That has to be very frustrating to go against. But that's going to happen everywhere. I find it very silly but, annoying as well that people are actually being reduced to something a little lower over a phone. Yes it will be awesome but at the end of the day it's a damn phone. People will believe whatever sounds good to them and be so anxious to hear what they want, they read things then take it clearly the wrong way and read out of context. then get angry cause something didnt happen the way you wanted it to. we know nothing compared to what the higher people know. it is so much deeper then that. so all the complaint is a bunch og ignorance. how can we get mad over something we really don't know about? makes no sense. we should be thankful for the people we have in this forum to share this knowledge. i know so much more. and a lot of people in here are pretty damn smart i'm sure.

Sprint never failed, Sprint never did anything wrong since they announced this phone. Everything is right on schedule and when any phone is thought of, they have a roadmap schedule for these things. It was planned to come out in the summer as always. Anything else is what WE want. It's not about us when it comes to these things. Sprint or any company would not be a business if they didn't know what they were doing.

May 12 is the day we will know more. I believe by then a lot of the specualtions and rumors shall die by then and cool that down. Anything else shared from now on should be questions about how you may use the phone or, something evo related.

I also notice the skitso act that is being played in this forum and I find it funny. I think that person just wants a little net fame as well. I don't believe any of it because they are posting things that was said already way back when. and they were actually like us looking for answers and now they have a so called inside source. And I think you know who I am talking about Jackson lols. But back and forth over the net is lame. But if they do then lucky them. But let me know something I didn't know already then I might take in consideration of believing.

everyone else, take a deep breath and let's get back to common sense. this forum was popping when i first came and now i am witnessing it falling apart over some very poor attitudes. its looking more like a social gossip site on the level of myspace. everyone in here is equal and better then no one else. some may no more but at the end of the day we all are human beings and all bleed after a cut. we all have our own drama, etc.

it's almost to the point when this phone comes out i will get it and disapearfrom this forum. but i like sharing and learning new info on new tech when it comes to phones. that's what we are here for. so let's do that.

Remember, it is just as easy to load an os on to 100,000 phones then 10. Any os can be installed in just a few mins. In fact, up to a 1,000 at a time. So 100,000 phones would take what, 200 mins? And they are going to launch it head to head with iphone.

Ok, I hope they are betting the farm on this. Because if they use anymore money then a normal launch, they are throwing money down the drain.

The truth is, the EVO will be launched in june. Stay tuned here for information. You will not find it one normal media outlets. They will be flooded with iphone/apple news. We need to make sure that people know when it is out.

Thanks, ROI. I've been trying hard to make a case for a May release, but Jackson and SP are the inside guys and they think the June release is good to go. Can't say that I agree, but who am I to go against the insiders. I've gotten an ass chewing from both of them now, simply because I had a different point of view.
 
I just hope someone from these forums is one of the contest semi-finalists or even winner. That'd be really cool to have someone from here be able to tell us stuff from first hand experience. Who all has entered? Everone I'm assuming?
 
It's a phone forum. We're all adults here. May 22? June 6th? June 13th? I'd be happy with any one of those dates because I want that phone. Let people believe what they want. Either way, by July we'll all be arguing about something else anyways. Either "told you the phone shouldn't have been released yet...why didn't they fix this first??" or "see now Apple is dominating the media again!! we should have released it sooner!!"

Hope for the best but always be prepared for the worst. I'm hoping for May 22. Worst case scenario...June 13. It's all good folks. Relax and just wait for the media blitz in 10 days!!

I can't wait for the media blitz either. I want to watch tv and bam a evo commercial comes on unexpected. that's where all the hype comes in.

Go to USER CP, then look down the left hand side under the "Your Control Panel" for "Edit Ignore List"....I've used this a few times in the recent past;).

I still havent sent anything in because I'm having a total brain fart on what to even write. I'd love to hear what ideas you guys tossed around but I dont want to run the risk of people biting other people's work. Either way good luck to all of you guys, I wanna win for sure but I'd be stoked if one of you did as well. As for the bickering I'm just gonna keep posting about the EVO like its not even there. :)
 
Matter of fact I'm gone from this thread and site until the phone comes out. I can go back to what I've been doing and that's finding exclusive info on my own. This is so lame. Over some speculations and he say.

ajac I think the point of proof he was saying was the things you say was never backed up either. just things you happened to post. some of it was obvious things already said and some was just simply things you posted. do we believe it? some may some might. jacksons post were some things we could have not known and some were things we could of known ourselves . but none of them were wrong. not even the day of media blitz. he said he even thought noting would happen. or not of that anyways. point is your info was believable so was his and some from both ends i could of easily googled and found out if i digged up enough. this forum was fun but quickly failed. hope a new thread will be made when this phone is released cause i would love to share my experience with you all. bye!

Does anyone have any idea what will come boxed with the phone yet? I've seen that HTC has been pretty skimp with what they gave with the Incredible and I'm guessing we shouldn't expect much more with the EVO but since its a "flagship" I'd like to think they or Sprint would throw us a bone.
 
I'm really disappointed with the way things have gone here today. This has been such a good thread and everyone has been friendly until today. There has been way too much name calling and backbiting, today and things are out of control. Since TS leaving for Paris for a week, we won't have our normal moderator, so it's time to take drastic measures.

I contacted the admins and asked them to close the thread for a week or so. I'm sorry that a few have to ruin it for everyone else, but that's a fact of life. Hopefully we'll get the chance to get back together again after everyone's temper has cooled down.

I don't remember which one but I think I remember seeing the EVO boxes on a bunch of tables in one of the QIK videos that was posted. They looked kind of big for phone boxes if I remember right.


Never mind.. after re reading your post I think I misinterpreted your post as what the boxes look like instead of what will come with the phone.
 
very disappointing that people are to immature to talk normal. maybe just to many young people that have to much testosorone or however you spell that. pm me jackson with info if you would. let's keep the thread open and be nice to each other.

I appreciate your efforts to keep the peace Bill, but clearly this thread has been on some sort of slippery slope for the last few days. While maybe banning ajac would solve some problems (seriously ajac you say Jackson is 16 years old, but you're the one who is acting like a child), I'm hoping this drastic move will show everyone how serious you are when you try and keep everything on topic or at least polite.

Personally, I will take Jackson's side no matter how old he may be, because he (along with SP and eieio, etc) has been bringing countless new tidbits that have been keeping this thread alive for this long. Thanks to everyone for keeping the thread going until now, and thanks to Bill and TS for keeping it clean. :(
