already posted several post back

-4G premier contest to end soon. Contest winners will be announced
-Bestbuy already doing training
-Ebay buyer selling preorder and promise ship by 31st.
-radio shack's rumor of selling the phone later this month...

i think that's enough to pull in some clues that we might get something early, hence rebella's clues today

Since we're speculating. I turn 30 this month on the 24th. I know this is going to sound like supersticion and it may be. If you take the number 30 and add it to 24, divide by 2 you get 27. I'm guessing the phone will be released on the 27th. However, if you divide that by the number 6 as in June 6th you get 4.5 which is how many weeks are left till June 6th so I'm guessing the 6th. The math is clear people.... numbers don't lie :D

Lately, I'm thinking I won't get a EVO. I've waited this long...I think I'm gonna wait to see what other phones come out a little later this year. Motorola, whatever Clear has coming. I think theres gonna be phones that will even more enticing than the EVO maybe? My next purchase is a gonna be a biggy and wanna make the right decision.
 
i did some digging, and i found this

it looks like a hoax, but the seller seems to make it sound like it is a pre-production model

Packaging should be the same as what is found in a retail store, unless the item was packaged by the manufacturer in non-retail packaging

vague, but most likely a hoax just like last nights fiasco with the domains for sale

EDIT: i posted a bit quickly, as the part stating that it wouldn't ship until 5/31/2010 hadn't loaded yet (it seems my browser is being dumb again...)

I understand your thinking and by all means you have that right to pass up this phone...

BUT with Sprint's 30 day guarantee, I don't think you should pass up atleast using this phone for a couple weeks. It's what we have been waiting for! Don't deprive yourself lol.

yeh, i posted a link to that a page back.
this guy probably does have hookups or something. and he must know something we don't know in order to add a specific 5.31 date

Or he is just looking to rip someone off, who knows, I really hope that there is something to that 5/31 date, but then again, this is the internet...
 
I sent the ebay guy a message asking him if it is the retail version that he is selling or some other version. I'd like to know how he intends to get one that early or does he know that the phone is to be released that soon.

There is always something better on the horizon...personally I can't wait to jump into Android (I'm an Android virgin) but this HTC Touch Diamond is really getting on the last nerve I have left!

Haha, My situation is kinda weird since I would have to get rid of one of my phones and old Family plan to get the EVO. Well, I can always play with it at the store! AND I've got what you guys say in the forum to help me decide. Thanks!

I know what you're saying. I'm a android virgin too. Well, both my brothers have android phones (MyTouch(t-mob)Hero). So I know what they can do but just don't know how it feels to use it for MY personal tastes. I'm gonna really have to read a lot of stuff in this forum after it comes out. BTW I'm coming from a Touch Pro. Before that had the Mogul , 6700. All WinMo!!! I'm sick of it!

if you look at the other items he/she has for sale they include:

a $300 gift card for Walmart going for 160
&
a $250 gift card for Target going for 202

Maybe they get them thru connections at their job?? I know that's been said before..

This person has 100% feedback so right now i would be leaning towards being solid evidence.
 
Just in case nobody mentioned this or realized this before, the 30-day satisfaction guarantee doesn't always get you all of your money back. If you upgrade your phone (extend your contract 2 years, etc) and are trying the EVO out (for example) and within the first 30 days you aren't happy, you may not get back the $35 restock fee, as seen below (from Sprint's website):

For existing customers upgrading devices and accessory purchases
So you just traded in your old Sprint device for a brand new one and
 
I have been running Windows Mobile on sprint since my first smart phone in 2006. since then i have been playing with my friends iPhone 3GS and another friends Motorola Droid, and I do have to say that i have been far more impressed with android then i have been by Win Mo or the iPhone OS, so realistically any android phone is an upgrade, and the EVO being 4G is just icing on the cake.

all that to say i will be waiting outside the sprint store on June 6th (or whenever the date is) to get the EVO

If you choose to get a new number and buy the evo with a new number you will be stuck with that number. Only way you will be able to port it later is if you add a line and buy another phone. This is incorrect. You would not be stuck with your new Sprint number. As long as your T-Mobile account is active you can port your number at any time. I used to own a cell phone store and we ported numbers all of the time after we gave people numbers while they waited for contracts to expire or what not.
 
Hi newbie here and I have been lurking for about 3 weeks!(no real info to pass along). I enjoy reading everyones posts. I googled evo from curiosity off sprints promo for the phone or lack there of :) (contest) and ended up here. Soooooo........ on a quick note I was in the sprint store last wed 4/28 as I was picking up sons phone and another employee and customer where talking and I quickly joined since I heard the evo word. He mentioned they just had their training... maybe different areas have diff training days would be my guess? Thats all I have sorry not much to it. I did try to dig for more but after he said that he clammed up!
