I dunno, mine works fine. Loaded mine with a couple of movies and it plays good. I did have a momentary freak out because it wouldn't read in my laptop, but then I tried it in my fiancee's laptop and it works fine. I think it might have something to do with the fact that my laptop is almost 5 years old and the card is a micro sdhc?? I'm not an expert buy maybe there is one here who can clarify if this is an issue with your phone too? Worst case scenario you can call customer support and return it.
You probably have a SD card reader in yours, and she has a SDHC reader.

Would have been nice if the EVO had come with an SDXC slot. :)

Does anybody know where to get good ringtones for free? Or any good programs where you make your own?

when you can, check the app store, there are TONS of soundboard apps, and there is also ringdroid, among tons of other ones too

*sorry my ipod touch is app store, what I meant to say was marketplace !!!

I know that folks had been talking earlier about getting perks or concessions but my experience a few minutes ago was brutal. Both the retentions rep and his manager hardballed me and offered nothing, no $10 credit of 4G, no $70 loyalty credit, in fact the retentions manager said that the $70 loyalty credit didn't even exist any more. At the end the manager just politely hung up on me. . . damn she was cold! I've been with Sprint almost 13 years and over 8 years with my current account and it was as though I'd only been there a year. I've worked retentions before but this was brutal. Maybe Sprint is seeing such a high demand for the phone that they've told retentions to back off the concessions?

My question is how many times can you call retentions and try someone else before they just say I see from your records that this is the umpteen time you've called to leave Sprint in a week?

i really hope the building penetration thing with 4g is not as bad as it's being made out to be...i'd like to be able to get a good signal in my house at all times

Well, Clear has antenna on 3 sides of my office building so I should be able to get decent reception here... I'm just a bit nervous that I'll be between all of those outward facing devices and be in a dead zone.

If you're that close, the building shouldn't pose a problem to the signal if the location is putting out a strong Wimax signal.

There are lots of people in the Philly area (and I'm guessing Baltimore) who get strong signal. I haven't read anything by them saying they're getting great signal outside but none inside.

Clear would've had problems getting Wimax in it's current locations if they couldn't demonstrate acceptable building penetration.

Sorry to hear that. I thought Sprint was generally granting a $10 credit for 24 months to those at the end of their contract if they renewed. My contract ended in April and I was able to get a $50 one-time credit and $10 monthly credit for the life of a new two-year contract when I renewed this month. The feeling I got from the retentions rep was the $10/mo. was standard. I guess there could be other factors that go into the credit/discount equation, but I don't know what they are. Good luck if you try again.

Try chat and tell them you are aware of the 70.00 credit for extending contract and see what happens?

That is one of the main reasons I want this phone, a recent crackdown on streamed TV @ work, makes this very attractive to me

Right there with you. Flash is one of the most exciting things on this phone for me. They have taken flash completely off our computers at work. Tried to install it again but you have to be an administrator to install anything. LAME

I was chatting with a sprint rep to see if BB can see the notes on my account and they cant. i asked if BB could call CS and tell them that there are notes on my account that let me get it on june 4. the sprint rep said they cant do either. so i have a pre-ordered Evo and now i cant get it there i have to get it at sprint. i called 4 of my local sprint stores and 1 didnt know when it was coming out (supposedly) and the other 3 said its on a first come first serve basis. i asked one store if they knew how many they were going to get and she told me they were going to get a good amount.

It means that you can load up all your media to be converted at one time. but I wouldn't suggest it. Handbrake maxes out all 4 cores on my cpu and I think If you did too many movies/shows at once it would catch fire. My temp always jumps like 10 degrees!

I went to evpdiscount and they quoted me a discount 2% less than the sprint website. I guess that's how they are making their money, by pocketing the difference. Does anyone else see a difference?
I would call them about discrepancy I'm sure they will make good.
