***Official G-Nex first impressions thread*** Love it? Hate it?

I had huge "buyer's remorse" before I received the phone. I was constantly second guessing my decision and almost went with the Rezound a few times.

So glad I didn't. This phone is just awesome to use. Fast, great screen, great battery life (getting ~20 hours with Verizon's extended battery), and so on. ICS is pretty damn nice also. I keep finding myself turning on the screen just to look at it.

This is my first smartphone so I wasn't entirely sure what to expect. And, with everone saying that it is a developer's phone, I was afraid it might take too much tweaking or be difficult to figure out.
I have not found that to be the case. I like the size and the screen. What a screen! I enjoy finding just the right apps to be able to do things with a phone that I never dreamed possible.
When showing it off to my music teacher I used Google Goggles to scan the image of a portrait he had hanging on his wall. In 2 seconds (or less) I knew it was Shostakovich and had links to all you'd ever want to know about him. Over the holidays, visiting with family and friends the topic of the first names of the Hardy Boys and who played Nancy Drew. I had the info in seconds.
I love the notifications and reading my email right on my phone. I also download e-books and audio books from the library and can use my phone for those as well.
I have several little games; Cut the Rope, Where's My Water, Tile Storm HD, Solitaire Trio. Can wate a lot of time with those.
The one accessory I bought was the extra battery with external charger. It's great. My battery life is wonderful. I just change out to a fresh battery in the morning and it lasts all day. I never plug in my phone to charge it.
I know that for some of you these are very basic things but they are fantastic to me. I am thrilled with my Galaxy Nexus (and convinced my sister to get one too!):D:D:D:D:D

Coming from a 3Gs after 2.5 years, I am really liking a lot of things about this phone. It is great to have a device that is easy to modify. Can't say I have run into any short-comings app-wise.
The only semi let-down I have run into is with bluetooth compatibility with the headset I use on my motorcycle helmet. I am able to listen to music, but can not trigger voice commands to enable hands-free dialing. IOS seems to have this well worked-out...

Just got mine, it's the first smartphone I've ever had. I played around with it beforehand at the Verizon store and had watched quite a few video reviews, but I still think it's notable to say that I already feel at home for what I do (email/texts, lots of sports/fantasy, music, Yelp, et al).

The fact that this is considered a developer's phone but can still feel accessible to a rookie like me is great. I've just never found Apple to be 'easier,' maybe it's just me.

Woot qoot about 3 weeks into it I already got my second SGN just glad I didn't have to pay for it... Now time to root and unlock brb 5 mins lol

I know this is a first impressions thread but just wanted to say that the SGN is the first phone I've had in a long time without experiencing buyer's remorse. Owned the GSM version in UK since Nov 17th.

Have any of the signal issues been worked out, resolved or just flat out gone away? Is this still a big fear for the Gnex

Love it but...signal issues are killing me, ie. drops off network and requires a power cycle to reconnect, frequent switches between 3G & 4G, doesn't reconnect to 4G, etc. Verizon's not been helpful or offered an exchange and I only have a couple days to return. Not sure whether to roll the dice and hope the radio firmware fixes things or not.

Have you asked about getting a new sim card? Some people have had luck with doing that

Finally picked up the Gnex today. So far, so good! Haven't been able to determine how the battery life holds up yet, but coming from the Tbolt, I think I'll be pleased (however I usually got around 15 hours on the Tbolt) I can't believe how lightweight the phone is yet still manages to feel solid. Picked up extended battery as well, though I'm going to see how much I can squeeze out of the standard battery first. Really looking forward to see what this phone is capable of! Oh ..This phone is FAST!!!
