Almost .8" thick wow although I've never been a fan of any ext battery

Me neither. If just have charging cords all over the place. If battery life becomes an issue you just charge it whenever you are around a plug, no need to wait until the battery is getting close to dead. Proactive charging haha.

if you listen/watch the OnTheVerge episode, duarte says november with no doubt in his voice. It's coming november.

thats not the vibe i got at all... what i got out of it was that, its verizons phone and its their call as to when its going to be released.. and him saying november was pretty much a combination of speculation, logic and him not wanting to be so lame and not give us a month. just a nervous answer

Lol we're like bloodhounds

Ain't that the truth. Or piranhas. Once a morsel of info is in the water we swarm at it, picking it apart for it's tender inner clues.

Oh no, we've become piranha-mammal hybrids.

I want my Nexus to take the strain off my OG Droid, which has been a faithful servant for over two years. Having to delete more and more data to keep it alive!

One issue with this is that LiIon cells are degraded with the number of charge cycles. You get the best battery life to charge, discharge to 15%, charge, and repeat and rinse. Partial charging does affect life.

My wife constantly plugs her phone into any charger, even for 5min. Surprise, her phone batteries never last as long as mine.

When he couldn't talk about something, he said he couldn't talk about it. If he didn't know or couldn't talk about the Verizon release he would have either said it or given a lame PR response. Saying November to me and not steeling their partner's thunder impies to me that he knows the date but didn't want to give it all away so just gave us the month.

I think we need a title change from this:

General ***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release thread*** ( (anything up to) 12/17 release date)

to this:

General ***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release thread*** (anything)
Eddie Izzard on technology. Stressed in the least? Enjoy.
"...unless your microsoft. We'll release it Monday, Tuesday, Next week, Next year! We'll release it when we're ------- ready!! Warning for language-- if you have sensitive ears.

True point, true point. I guess I never keep a phone long enough for it to get to the point that the battery starts going on me. lol

So, I dunno if this is related to the recent changes in Verizon's website, but VZWSupport tweeted this:
Does anyone know what's going on at 7am CST tomorrow?
All I can think of is that it's right before the TMo-Google event, so maybe they're trying to upstage them by announcing the Gnex :D

Or I could be reading too far into this and they're having a workshop or something (though at 7am, I don't know who'd be attending besides OTD ;) )

Yeah your reading too much into this. It's for the RAZR actually. They sent me a text and it's a "classroom" for getting to know the device and Android. You sign up and attend it online (obviously)

The whole battery thing has dumbfounded (word?) me. SO many claim to know this and that, run tests comparos, the chemistry etc...

My wife throws her Inc on the charger any chance she gets. At 84% she charges it. 55% charges it and so on.

I charge like I thought I was supposed to from reading all those said tests/comparisons....like you stated vette. Over the course of the last 18 months I had to get a new battery. She has not. Our usages are extremely similar and how long they hold a charge pretty darn equal. Go figure. And yes that takes in to account the 3 billion variables that come into play :)

Do you still have the Razr? Considering switching to the Nexus?

Wow. This thread just came to a halt. Guess I'm done for the night as well. We'll pick up pining for the SGN tomorrow. Until then, good night all.
