I can't speak for mobile phone purchases at Best Buy, but their reputation otherwise is dismal in some circles. Teaser prices w/complicated rebates, badgering at checkout for insurance coverage you don't need, high-priced "PC tuneup" services that really don't do anything beyond what the manufacturer has already done, and service personnel copying media files off of PCs brought in for service. I've had great service from specific sales people there, but usually avoid giving them my business.
I know all the reasons to not like them - my ex was a Geek Squad head and we had lots of friends who were at all levels of their food chain. There's not a lot I go there for anymore - but when I had access to the innerworkings and a HUGE discount (Geek Squad pays cost plus 5% on everything in store and can get away with more frequent tech purchases than blue shirts) it was like Christmas anytime we needed anything electronic.
