Any word on a tentative Sprint date yet? I assume it will be after Verizon but wonder just how long. Perhaps there is some historical indicators on other big phone x-mas releases...

Pardon if I'm kicking a dead horse, did a thread search, but didn't find any useful comments on it.

Also the 3g to 4g promo is Verizon only yes?

I said "so I can have their phones shipped and pick up the Nexus tomorrow" and the guy said "yeah, oh... let me check your account." He said the upgrades were fine, but then asked about the phone and I said the GN and he goes.. "Well, it's not out yet." He told me to check online after midnight and actually said he had cases for it but no demo. Hmph, that's a start.

I wish I could join in the jubilation you guys have. My folks are up in NY and I have the too many things that require the corporate store. They've all been so silent around here...

Yeah.. I called 5 stores in the Pittsburgh area and got everything from "we haven't gotten stock yet" to "It was supposed to release on the 9th but we do not have a date."

Strange that 23 stores would be that far out of the loop, eh?
 
Well, I too have called my contacts. I have had 3 sales reps, 2 of which are managers, one of a third party retailer and the other of a Verizon store, all of which said they would be able to hold one with my name on it for the launch. Now, today, all 3 told me that it is first come first serve and no chance to hold one for me. I've said it before, I am working 8am to 5pm tomorrow with no chance to leave to Verizon before 5pm...I am very bummed if this releases tomorrow as I will have to wait longer than all of you to get my hands on Nexus.

Spoke to the BJs on Duke, which only had the dummy unit yesterday. My usual rep wasn't there, but the other said he'd heard nothing and expected any day now. The corporate store a few blocks away on Little River Turnpike was less than helpful last week and rushed off the phone. One of the Radio Shacks already had em in stock and was supposed to phone me when they could sell, but that does me no good since I need to swap my Rezound out at a corporate store or BJs.

addendum:
- Little River Turnpike has no demo units out and is giving the "we haven't gotten release information" line.
- Just spoke to my regular BJs rep. Said he hadn't seen any news aside from having the demo unit and suggested phoning back next week. He follows various android forums, too
 
Hey guys! So for what it's worth, I called back the third party retailer today (the one I have a RESERVED Nexus for tomorrow from) and asked if the launch was still a go. They said they are 100% sure I can come pick up my Nexus tomorrow morning and that Verizon always publicly announces it either the day of or the day before. But supposedly they got confirmation that tomorrow is a go for launch. Super excited! :D

Still don't know why Verizon decided to announce their white Droid RAZR tho. Piece of crud phone...they are married to their DROID line I swear. Anyways, I've been reading through these forums and I think this is really great. You guys are a great source of information and you are hilarious!

Big shout out to my fellow Skyrim fans out there! :D (It's become my LIFE)

I've called up and visited several verizon stores and radio shacks in my area between this weekend and today and they've stated that they don't know anything about the release date and they said that they didn't have any in stock.

Does anyone know of any stores that are planning to sell the phone in the DC area, specifically fairfax & tysons VA, DC or Bethesda,MD areas?
 
Thanx to OTD...i have been using an old apk for Google Voice and i can confirm it does not work on the GN...not sure why but when i start the app and click on the next button at the bottom right it says..."google voice failed to load" it will load the new apk just fine but i have not been able to get the old 0.3.4 to load.

OTD....if if you get yours tomorrow and can figure this out please PM me...other than that the phone is great. Speaker is a little softer than i like but still usable and like everyone else said, it just feels great in your hand.

Still playing....
 
Has anyone heard how sales of the Razr or Rezound have been? Specifically I wonder how the launches went. Considering the marketing push behind the R phones, especially the Razr, how awesome would it be to see the Nexus sales figures beat them?
 
Just my little Corporate store story from the beautiful but a tad chilly northwest.

Just got off the phone with the sales rep that sold me my Rent a Rezound last month.

They have a nexus sitting there for me for lunchtime tomorrow and their inventory guy just got an e-mail an hour ago stating they are good to go for tomorrow.

Oh Baby. Nerdgasm alert !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
I don't know what to think anymore.

All I know is that I went to Costco around noon, and as I walked by the cell phone counter, I asked the girl, "any news on the Galaxy Nexus?" She replied, "other than it's coming out tomorrow?"

Welcome, just in time! I am quite confident that at this point some employees are just being careful because of the fiasco last week. It is going to be a soft launch, with advertising for the general public later (read: not us, lol), supposedly.
 
WTF! I just called my corporate store, they guy there said they dont know anything about tomorrow, that corporate is going to spring the launch on them a week ahead of time.

frustrating....

OK, so the article seems to imply that Verizon doesn't really (comparatively) give a rip about this phone and that Rezound and RAZR are the priorities. This phone is not expected to be a big seller. So why then is Verizon (presumably) trying to have so much control? Why not just say, "Fine, have your little geek phone, you market it, you promote it, and we'll sell it and get our data and phone plan fees with little investment?" Then Verizon can promote the Rezound and RAZR to their heart's content. Verizon is almost acting like this is their version of the Galaxy II and their invested in its success. But that's not the case.
