My wife got her Charge from there after the end of unlimited data and all was fine. Only issue I have with them is they are based in the DFW area where I live here and they will not allow pick-ups so I would still have to wait until friday to get my nexus.

I absolutely 100% do not believe you.

There is no 'online site' that is selling a Verizon-licensed Galaxy Nexus for $199. None. Verizon pays for the phone through your service fees. It costs them more than $299. I'd love to hear how some online site is selling them for about $350 less than they cost wholesale. A Verizon 4G LTE version, no less...
 
Is it wrong of me that I'm glad they only released this softly. Makes a better chance of getting one tomorrow!!!

Selfish, maybe. But going on 3 months of this roller coaster, I'm bittersweat about it ending. The highs were great, the lows were even better.

Made some great friends. Thanks to you all.

Dude!!!! come on. We've gone through months of hell. why would you even say something like that? let us enjoy the night and go to bed like it's christmas morning tomorrow and be happy for once.

Since I plan on a new line, does anyone thing I can get them to set the line up and swap my old number and service with out them pulling the nexus out of the box?
 
Ok, for anyone in the same boat as me. I have been calling Verizon the past couple hours trying to get my eligibility moved up from 12/28 to now. I called probably a total of 10 times. All giving me different reasons why they couldn't move my upgrade. One person offered to move it forward 1 week to the 21st (not good enough) if I called back and asked again tomorrow.

Finally after several calls I got on with another CSR and explained that I wanted to get my upgrade date moved forward a bit and she said "Sure we can do that no problem, looks like there would normally be a $20 fee to move it forward but I can waive that for you." No idea why she was able to waive the fee, I wasn't about to ask.

Then she asked me what phone I wanted and I got a little scared because this is where all the others said "absolutely not." I said I was considering either the Nexus or the Rezound (not true, and not even sure why I said that). She said she could order me the Rezound right then and there, but if I wanted the Nexus it would have to wait until tomorrow, understandably.

She said she could call me back tomorrow morning to give me time to think about it, and order me whichever phone I decided on...

So here's hoping she knows what she is doing and it will work out. She did mention that she was putting a note on my account to give me an early upgrade with no fee.

So to anyone else trying to get an early upgrade, stick with it, keep trying, don't give up, and for the love of our mother earth, be polite.
 
So I just came from my corporate VZW store. The manager was standing there and I asked if he could reserve one for me in the morning. His response? "We don't know when it will be released." I was in shock. I said, didn't you see the PR? He said, yes but they might still cancel it.... I said, fine I'll just buy it from Radio Shack or a reseller in the morning. He says, they shouldn't be selling it tomorrow until they give everyone the go ahead.

VZW is unreal...

Um..your wrong. Letstalk.com, a very legit site, is selling them for 229.99 for upgrades. PLUS, they are doing a special $75 off any Verizon phone. So yeah, cheap as hell :)
 
Here is my plan:
Local Premium retailer says that they typically honor verizon rebates and will call there rep in the morning to see if the $100 dollar coupon can be applied. If so I order and they should receive shipment by noon (Best case scenario).

If not I see what other discounts I can get and possibly walk. (May be tough to get myself to do this) THe plan would be to then order through telesales, with overnight delivery, who says they will ship out same day if ordered before 3.

Either way I haves my precious by Friday!!!
 
What a whirlwind day, from "Reps said yes!!" to "Reps said they can't sell it!!! I'm pissed!" to the official announcement. At some point during the day I was mentally starting to prepare myself to getting a Rezound.

I feel relieved. I don't have to constantly be checking Android rumor sites anymore, I don't have to be refreshing this all the time (no offense to all of you!).. my sanity is back.

Tomorrow, I get the phone at opening :D
 
And to think, just a few hours ago I was browsing the Sprint website looking at the GSII.

Got an appointment with my local Costco at opening time tomorrow (10am)!

I know I barely posted in this thread, but I have to tell all of you that you've kept me very entertained and informed throughout this whole thing. So thanks for that.
