I couldn't be more pleased with it. I understand that the Verizon LTE version will be a tad bit thicker, but I don't mind that at all. I love the design and look of the phone, and that OS is totally amazing. In my opinion it blows iOS out of the water.

I think I was worried that we wouldn't get it to Verizon, or that it would be a crippled device, but all the evidence I've seen has shown otherwise. I'm really excited about it, and I'll be there on day 1, my face pasted to the glass before the store opens. :D

Agree 100%. Now they just need to tell me when and where they can take my money. Come on Verizon, announce already!

I would also like to say thank you to Steven's Source. That individual really went out on a limb giving us the info that we got. I don't blame that person for wanting to lay low for a while. Anyways thanks again.

Ha! Moto might say that, but I'd add a little cushion on to whatever estimate they give you.

Early 2012 can be March, so a reasonable time frame, considering all the added features they have to account for with ICS framework changes. If they said 2011, I would call BS.

Still no OFFICIAL confirmation from Verizon :(

Nor if VZW will pick up the 32gb version. Seems a lot of folks would be less interested if 16gb, unless 10gb free and more depending on cloud storage is okay. With no sd slot and smaller storage, this could be called the Nexus Fire ;)

Just having fun, since should be a nice device for a lot of folks.

Still no FCC passes for the phone that is supposedly going to be on Verizon first. =/

You won't see FCC docs until Verizon makes their official announcement. Knowing them, they're probably waiting for the Google and Samsung love parade to die down a bit so they can take center stage.

would you be surprised if vzw tries to sweep it under the rug, and not push this phone heavily in favor of an more controlled device like the razr ? Is there an possibility out there that vzw doesnt have us exclusivity ?

Some people still can't grasp the concept of a Nexus device. I understand that some of his may blow you Verizoner's minds, but show me a Nexus device that had bloatware on it. Show me a nexus device that is neutered by carriers. You cannot. In order for Verizon to carry the Nexus, they have to heed Google's requirements. Not the other way around. It's getting ridiculous at this point. Verizon is not the only carrier that has bloated, locked down software on their phones. On my HTC Inspire, there's plenty of apps that I cannot natively get rid of. The same goes for Sprint and T-Mobile. The woe is me attitude is uncalled for. No one's forcing you to be with Verizon. Personally, if I felt that at every turn my carrier was blatantly trying to screw me over, I'd leave.

Sorry
/rant

I read you loud and clear and agree and nothing you have pointed out was unknown to myself.
I am just holding my breath in high hopes. I have to stay with Verizon and that's that, a too long of a story to tell here.

You may want to do what I do when I see folks try to talk about the Camera megapixel thing, just flip past it. Some times I plug a little.

HanSolo: Yes I really want this phone and it is not that expensive seen from a danish point of view. And dont forget,, it is Denmark, so you guys will surely get it before us.
I can not wait to se what you all think of it
Hanne

I'm in the same boat as you, man and I've got to admit...I think I'm swaying towards this phone. Maybe even just for a change of pace and the sweet ICS. Talk me out of it, man!!! HAHA.

haha I won't talk you out of it...i'm kinda in love at this point...now only to call VZW and see what they can work out for me as the power button on my DINC is really getting bad....

I'm suggesting that people make educated decisions. It's a bit reductive to refer to this as simply the "waiting game". Qualcomm, for instance, is set to release their Krait processor in the first half of 2012. So we're talking anywhere from ~2 months (unlikely) to 8 months (again, unlikely). Realistically, an android phone utilizing the Krait processor would probably be released somewhere in between. With all of the benefits of a a processor node almost half the size of current processors, it would be well worth the wait.

Times are getting tougher and I think it's valuable for everyone to be educated about this kind of thing before dropping ~$300 on antiquated hardware. I'm not promoting the waiting game. I'm promoting longer-term decision making.

Is Krait SAMPLING in 1Q2012 or actually being integrated in phones by then?

Given that the Samsung website is saying "Galaxy Nexus from Verizon" (see about a half-page up, with the three pictures), and the official trailer from Samsung/Google displays "Verizon Wireless" in Tron-blue on the notification bar, I'm betting VZ will have exclusivity for a while in the U.S.

But I'm torn on the opinion of what Verizon will do. Why would they want exclusivity and then not take advantage of that with marketing? But then again, the RAZR seems to be their baby. So I don't know quite what they'll do. I hope they ignore it so I won't have to deal with any sell-out issues. :p

Yeah, Europe is so expensive. A friend of mine and his wife visit Switzerland quite often and they say that a meal at McDonalds has cost them $30 U.S. each!!!

That's crazy. But I guess to you it's not that bad. :p

No offense, Hannec, and I'm glad you've ordered your baby and I hope you enjoy it to death, but I really, really hope we get it a lot sooner than you do!!! :D

I was really impressed how smooth ics looked I am sad that i probably wont see Galaxy nexus on att subsidized any time soon maybe april. I am just hoping att does get an ics device some time this year. From the looks of it i am going to end up disappointed.

Verizon really has 3 steller phones coming out in november. VZW are really lucky with the choices they have. For me I have one choice of phone i could really upgrade to :-(

Bloatware = money.

Would I love the brick wall behind home plate at Wrigley Field to be ad-free? Of course. But it's not, because it makes them a lot of money.
Blockbuster, Netflix, etc. do the same for Verizon.

I understand that some people use the bloatware and that = revenue. What I don't get is why the people who don't want to use it can't remove or disable it. The people who want to remove it aren't going to use it just because they can't remove it.

Oh no I wasn't singling anyone out in particular. My thing is, after reading a few pages this morning, I'm in awe of the fact that there are still doubters out there. I keep seeing posts saying that they won't believe Verizon is getting it until they announce it themselves, or they don't believe it because no FCC. Or, there's NO WAY Verizon would allow a nexus on their network, It's quite annoying. It'll be subsidized by Verizon, bloat free. If anything I said turns out to be false, I'll eat my pinkie finger lol.

Another thing. There will probably be no official announcement by Verizon. Maybe a Press Release, but they won't make a big deal out of it. T-Mobile supported the original Nexus One from the onset, but never said a thing in public about it, to my knowledge. Google and HTC announced it, said it'll initially work on T-Mobile's network in the US, and that was that.

I'm with Han on this one. I'm jumping off the train at the Nexus station because:

(a) It's an awesome and (virtually) future-proof device.

future proof? every benchmark we have seen shows its going to be a HORRIBLE gaming device. the 3d capabilities are horrendous. if youre never gonna run any 3d applications then maybe its for you.

I'll just refer back to my post 2 pages back, again:

Good post 2 pages back, but I think some people's issues with bleeding edge spec's has to do with a possible HUGE jump in capability a month or two out that open up whole new uses for the device that weren't really workable just a few months prior. So then you basically have a new phone that that can do all new things your couple month old phone can't. This tends to only happen with processor and GPU generational jumps though. Some of those ARE just a few months off at this point also. I will use my subsidy and get this new Nexus, but there is a good chance I am going to just sell it and pay full retail for a device a good bit ahead of it in a few months when the actual new generations of stuff hit.

Worrying about Mhz and specific GPU is really kinda silly though as all chips available TODAY are really pretty comparable and able to do all the same tasks about equally well. This is the part of your point that's spot on.

HanSolo (sorry about this, but i dont know how to copy/quote) I hope you get it first to, because that means that i get a lot af oppinions from this forum, and can canncel in time, just in case...(.I hope not)

Is NFC something that gets software updates or is it hardware that may not be as effective in 2-3 years as the technology becomes ubiquitous?
