I couldn't be more pleased with it. I understand that the Verizon LTE version will be a tad bit thicker, but I don't mind that at all. I love the design and look of the phone, and that OS is totally amazing. In my opinion it blows iOS out of the water.
I think I was worried that we wouldn't get it to Verizon, or that it would be a crippled device, but all the evidence I've seen has shown otherwise. I'm really excited about it, and I'll be there on day 1, my face pasted to the glass before the store opens.![]()
Ha! Moto might say that, but I'd add a little cushion on to whatever estimate they give you.
So,,,I went ahead and ordered it from this danish webside Samsung Galaxy NEXUS (K
Still no OFFICIAL confirmation from Verizon![]()
Still no FCC passes for the phone that is supposedly going to be on Verizon first. =/
You won't see FCC docs until Verizon makes their official announcement. Knowing them, they're probably waiting for the Google and Samsung love parade to die down a bit so they can take center stage.
Some people still can't grasp the concept of a Nexus device. I understand that some of his may blow you Verizoner's minds, but show me a Nexus device that had bloatware on it. Show me a nexus device that is neutered by carriers. You cannot. In order for Verizon to carry the Nexus, they have to heed Google's requirements. Not the other way around. It's getting ridiculous at this point. Verizon is not the only carrier that has bloated, locked down software on their phones. On my HTC Inspire, there's plenty of apps that I cannot natively get rid of. The same goes for Sprint and T-Mobile. The woe is me attitude is uncalled for. No one's forcing you to be with Verizon. Personally, if I felt that at every turn my carrier was blatantly trying to screw me over, I'd leave.
Sorry

I'm in the same boat as you, man and I've got to admit...I think I'm swaying towards this phone. Maybe even just for a change of pace and the sweet ICS. Talk me out of it, man!!! HAHA.
I'm suggesting that people make educated decisions. It's a bit reductive to refer to this as simply the "waiting game". Qualcomm, for instance, is set to release their Krait processor in the first half of 2012. So we're talking anywhere from ~2 months (unlikely) to 8 months (again, unlikely). Realistically, an android phone utilizing the Krait processor would probably be released somewhere in between. With all of the benefits of a a processor node almost half the size of current processors, it would be well worth the wait.
Times are getting tougher and I think it's valuable for everyone to be educated about this kind of thing before dropping ~$300 on antiquated hardware. I'm not promoting the waiting game. I'm promoting longer-term decision making.
would you be surprised if vzw tries to sweep it under the rug, and not push this phone heavily in favor of an more controlled device like the razr ? Is there an possibility out there that vzw doesnt have us exclusivity ?
HanSolo: Yes I really want this phone and it is not that expensive seen from a danish point of view. And dont forget,, it is Denmark, so you guys will surely get it before us.
I can not wait to se what you all think of it
Hanne
Given that the Samsung website is saying "Galaxy Nexus from Verizon" (see about a half-page up, with the three pictures), and the official trailer from Samsung/Google displays "Verizon Wireless" in Tron-blue on the notification bar, I'm betting VZ will have exclusivity for a while in the U.S.
But I'm torn on the opinion of what Verizon will do. Why would they want exclusivity and then not take advantage of that with marketing? But then again, the RAZR seems to be their baby. So I don't know quite what they'll do. I hope they ignore it so I won't have to deal with any sell-out issues.![]()
Bloatware = money.
Would I love the brick wall behind home plate at Wrigley Field to be ad-free? Of course. But it's not, because it makes them a lot of money.
Blockbuster, Netflix, etc. do the same for Verizon.
Oh no I wasn't singling anyone out in particular. My thing is, after reading a few pages this morning, I'm in awe of the fact that there are still doubters out there. I keep seeing posts saying that they won't believe Verizon is getting it until they announce it themselves, or they don't believe it because no FCC. Or, there's NO WAY Verizon would allow a nexus on their network, It's quite annoying. It'll be subsidized by Verizon, bloat free. If anything I said turns out to be false, I'll eat my pinkie finger lol.I read you loud and clear and agree and nothing you have pointed out was unknown to myself.
I am just holding my breath in high hopes. I have to stay with Verizon and that's that, a too long of a story to tell here.
You may want to do what I do when I see folks try to talk about the Camera megapixel thing, just flip past it. Some times I plug a little.
I'm with Han on this one. I'm jumping off the train at the Nexus station because:
(a) It's an awesome and (virtually) future-proof device.
I'll just refer back to my post 2 pages back, again:
