I messed that all up.

I was aiming for what eyetek said. Like, Samsung trying to steal a bit of thunder from Apple. Soften the blow, in a manner of speaking. I doubt it would do enough to really steal people away from Apple, but it would certainly give them a bit more of an edge. Just a thought really.

AT&T and Apple have both blocked customers from taking vacation during the first two weeks of October. So it seems logical.

I'm not sure what the FCC pattern for Apple is. For most of Verizon's handsets, it's usually right around 30 days. Although the iPhone 4 was less than that.

Rumors are just that and it doesn't matter if they are Apple rumors or Samsung / Google / Verizon rumors. Some make a a huge deal over Cam shots or FCC releases as the only way they will be convinced that the rumors are in fact...fact. So if we agree that we treat both with equal rules then I don't give Apple iPhone rumors any more or less weight than those by Samsung / Google / Verizon...no cam shots, no FCC indication that these devices are in fact real!

I guess I do not assume that the devices are not real just because the lack of these two events, time will tell for sure and I understand that both Apple and Samsung are playing this very close to their vest so maybe the rules have evolved just a bit this time around.

I have herd from business reports that Apple is having issues with the new screen and a defect that shows itself once the part is assembled onto the phone, (a bubble between the layers of the screen) this is causing a delay in creating the numbers needed to meet their release quantity quotas and may delay the phone. If this is true and not a rumor the Oct. 14th shipping date could be changed or at least a very limited number of units released at that time. I for one wouldn't want to jump on the phone with that kind of a issue until its figured out and resolved.

I hereby volunteer to test the you-will-be-very-happy device of which you speak. As a scientist, I'd be an excellent candidate to conduct relevant experiments to address the proposed hypotheses and report back to this forum a conclusion.

We WANT to believe,....trust me,....but we've been kicked and bruised and used before....so speak softly.
 
On a more serious note: I'd like us to lighten up on this Verizon guy. I feel as if he's trying to help us by telling us to put the pieces of the puzzle (which are already out there) together.

If you don't lighten up, I'm gonna kick you all in the shin, turn and run as fast as I can, screaming like teenage girl...believe me you DON'T want to experience that. :p

I called VZW on the phone and cagily asked her when the Nexus Prime would be available. Of course, she acted like she had no idea what I was talking about but she did say that Verizon had 5 new phones coming out. My contract is up the end of October so this would be the first time I spent a lot of $$ on a phone, but if the Prime is anything like you guys have been writing about, it seems it would be well worth it. Amazon Wireless seems to have good deals on wireless phones as well.

That was one of the big complaints/concerns I have herd from many members here so this news should make them very happy! This also signals a CHANGE in the verizon mentality that was needed to make the next Nexus a pure android experience....I am even more confident that the other issues we all have for this device will also be addressed with the same results.
 
We need a pic of this thing soon. I feel like a lot of apprehension would be gone were one image, or something, to be let out. Just a peek would really get the excitement going.

Don't worry Kastleberg. I think that all (including visual proof) will be revealed on Oct. 11
 
I recall giving myself an ultimatum during the last week of August that someone better release a beast within x days or else...

Now I'm reduced to throwing a tantrum and banging my fists on the floor because I still have no options and no better information.

Basically, vz guy is saying that everything is true. If so, rejoice. We can wait a couple of weeks for the official announcement. I'm good.

I thought he said that Tom Fleming's poem was amusing, but not 100% accurate.

Although I think the supposed inaccuracy lies in that the Verizon Prime won't have a keyboard.
