They don't change it that often and I wouldn't rely on that because that could not happen for months.

I still would like to hear first hand from someone who has successfully done this. I also wouldn't want to pay $30 a month in data charges until it happens. Whether it works or not, it adds up very quickly. Plus, I am still willing to be they will not let you go very easily. I bet they would change your TOS like they did for everyone that complained back in July so you cannot cancel. (To include me.)

Policy varies by carrier, even though that's a standard Android feature - it's easily shut out.

Has there been any word on whether this would be shut off for Verizon? Having a Google phone, this would be one of the things I would hope for.

No. You would be cancelling the $10 a month line which has no data. You still keep the line with the SGN ergo you keep the data.

LOL. Look what I started. Sorry everyone. I should just work these things out in my own head. Then again, I never thought about the fees which changed my calculations a little. Still in the favor of adding a bogus line at this point considering it defers some of the cost over 2 years. I just have to set a calendar reminder at the two year mark to cancel the line so I don't forget if I do it!!! Then, I lean back to paying full price just to have it in my hands on launch day. I hate waiting!

Also they had some articles awhile back about how you wouldn't be able to easily get out of contract when they do change things like the regulatory fees and how verizon does things to make it harder for you to be able to get off scotch free.

For those talking about extended warranties, check if your credit card offers one. AMEX will double the warranty up to a year (total of 2). My OGD had a dead digitizer, while researching it, another guy I yapped with had the same problem, and AMEX covered the repair so he didn't have to deal with it.

I have an American Express. Do you know how to do this? Not sure I'd need to use it, but helpful in case I ever do. I also use it for all of my major purchases as it is the best rewards card I have for most things.

Log into your AMEX account and find the cardholder benefits. Also, it goes without saying (but I'll say it anyway), AMEX only covers it if you purchased it with their card.

Once you've verified that your card covers it, simply call the number on the back. I've used purchase price protection from AMEX before. Bought a PC Blu-Ray Drive for $150, a few weeks later it was marked down to $100 on Black Friday. They didn't care, just refunded me the $50 difference after I showed them the advertisement.

Visa Signature and World Mastercard have similar benefits.

Here's a site I found that describes it

Use Your Credit Cards' Extended Warranty

Sweet! I ony had two major problems with electronics. Both times with Samsung. Once with the Nexus S (all myfault), and once with their TV (their fault). Both times, they took care of me without question. This is good info in case I ever have issues. Thanks for the info!

I also use it for my car rentals as well. Makes life a lot easier. Too bad most people (including me) do not know about all of their benefits on things.

What about syncing contacts from Outlook? Anyone know if there will be an easy way to do this.

I'm coming from a Blackberry, and I love the way it syncs with Outlook.

I know this TJH, my HTC phones sync just as good as BB.Ii was worried about that when I bought the Dinc. I have NEVER had a problem. Both contacts and e-mail were perfect.

BUT!!!!! we need to know was that because of HTC or Android? I think it was Android and HTC just made a nice skin for it.

I'm almost positive we will be all set.

Any Original Droid users out there(that used outlook)? Those were vanilla.
