Mornin! So nothing new since last night ehh...except CBF almost getting a pre-order! Torture I say :D

I'm still banking on a soft launch Thur. Unless VZ comes out and says something (unlikely) I'll be at my store at 9 AM sharp. Can't hurt, right.

Anti let me know what yours says today would you mind PM'ing me?

Assuming that VZW does do a soft launch on thursday, will the send notifications out to those who registered via email.

If they do, I'm pretty sure we will see notice here, just wondering how vzw noticifications, if any, will happen.

It's funny I have read these reports of Verizon disabling NFC on the Nexus but looking at the PR from Oct "Near Field Communications (NFC) enabled"

Verizon Wireless Introduces The Galaxy Nexus By Samsung

What reports have been saying NFC has been disabled on Verizon's device? The only reports I've seen and read are the unavailability of Google Wallet, and mobile payments potentially being funneled towards into Isis.

NFC is needed for Android Beam to work (it's more than just mobile payments).

Oh That's right thanks for pointing that out :o

I would NOT trust VZW, especially those E-mail lists. (there used primarily for marketing) I heard accounts of it taking up to a week after launch for them to bother sending a notification out on E-mail...

Verizon has not disabled NFC, they are just blocking the Google Wallet APP. NFC is still functioning, allowing you to "beam" and other cool things.

Edit: D'oh! I take a minute to make sure no one has responded, and I get ninja'd.

the title says that the 9th has been confirmed but all i see is people posting websites to really old information.....has it been confirmed by verizon yet?

If the notification sign up works like it has in the past, you'll get your email after half of us are at home playing with our GNexi.

You probably shouldn't be looking up play mates in class :P

Haha I was about to say that.

Ok I think chrome has crashed enough times on me that I should take it as a sign to get moving with my day -- as wonderful as it is laying on the couch covered in puppies talking to you all. they need to go to the vet and I need to get stuff done.

Also, I really hate that my shift key is sticking and i miss capitalizing things lately. Very annoying.

The "confirmation" comes from two documents sent to a Verizon retailer (not Corporate store). Look in the OP there is a link to the two documents.

Just looked her up in class. The things I would do, you wouldn't share with your children about..... :p

OFF-TOPIC POST ABOUT WOMEN:

Meh. She's cute, but too fake for my liking. There comes a point in time where the airbrushed, "perfect", blonde, Barbie Doll-esque, Playboy Playmate look becomes boring. That point came like 20 years ago, IMO. It's just so over-the-top perfect that looking through pages and pages of these girls, they all start to look plastic.

Give me some REAL looking girls any day of the week. Imperfections are what make people unique, and they are what make people beautiful.

If I buy an app for my current phone does it carry over to my new phone???

Sorry never felt the need to pay for apps so haven't dipped into it.

Yes. Once you log into your new android phone and go to the market you will be able to download them to your new phone.

Yup. Just sign onto The Android Market and send it to your new device. One of The beauties of Android and the Android Market. :)

Bah! Ninja'd x3

^ this.
Makes me happy to read

Amazon also usually gets carrier phones about a week after the carrier launches right?

If they do indeed launch this week at VZW, I'm still debating on waiting and saving $50 to $100 and not having to pay an activation fee, or going to the store this week and paying full price and having to argue, and ultimately hopefully win, getting the activation waived.
