I'd put the Bionic higher than the Thunderbolt. You are right about AMD, I'd put them in the top spot for most things. Here's why and similarly, why I think Verizon is sooooooo silent.Worst product launches of all time:
1) AMD Bulldozer
2) HTC Thunderbolt
3) AMD Phenom
4) Verizon Galaxy Nexus... but it's climbing...
I had an intern in training this AM and after we filmed Jody the Love Ninja....
Here is MY problem...........
Irregardless of the MANY delays that have taken place and are taking place........WHY would they LIE ?
I called my local VZW cooperate store this morning and an agent said she knew nothing about a phone called Galaxy Nexus! I told her she was probably the only person on the planet that knew nothing. She said she was sorry and told me to hold while she talked to her manager. She came back on the phone and said her manager did not know of such a device.
I was in this store on Tuesday talking to a rep about this phone! I asked to talk to the manager, was put on hold. The manager came on and told me no one in the store knows anything about such a phone! I asked her if they knew nothing about release dates and the manager told me no, they just simply did not know anything about any device called the Samsung "Galaxy Nexus" !!!
WHY do they have to be this way..................... why can't they just tell me the simple truth and say they are not allowed to talk about it? Why a manager thinks it is OK to LIE about this is beyond me.
I will indeed get the Nexus when it is released (if ever) but will NEVER again do business with that store.
Am i calling that store out for being liars? Sure am....................very sad indeed!
On a positive note, 2 minutes after being lied to, i called an authorized dealer in my area. He was 100% knowledgeable about the phone and he took my number and told me he would call me as soon as they were allowed to sell the phone........LOL..........
It is so amazing how VZW and it's sales force can screw up this release!!
End of my issues and rant...........
Here's the reason I believe there is no official launch date -- Verizon doesn't want to get further bad press if they can't meet it.
Living with the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, three weeks later | CNET Technology
"If you're already leaning toward the Galaxy Nexus, awaiting its arrival with hungry eyes, then you should buy it. You won't be disappointed. While we haven't been able to test the Verizon version, Samsung and Google have together created a powerful, usable smartphone that heralds the direction we're going with Android."
So, you're still sticking with that January theory? The theory that sounds financially nonsensical for Verizon? After having spent hundreds of thousands, or even millions on logistics to get it shipped to stores across the country, and then just letting it sit around makes no sense. They need to sell those phones A.S.A.P. to recover those expenses. They have also most likely spent a good bit of money for any hardware/software issues if there truly were any. So with that in mind, any further delays or refusals to launch the phone will result in negative capital, which nobody likes, especially the Board of Directors and shareholders.I should have expressed myself more clearly, the imminent launch is DOA. The phone's arrival tomorrow or over the next several days is DOA.
Have you seen her sig? Trouble just finds her, and I'm not convinced she doesn't like it.Well, I'm going to lunch. There'd better be a damn release date by the time I get back, or BB is going to be in big trouble.
Your call, guys. Make it happen.
I don't know how BB got in that predicament, but I am afraid we need to start saying our goodbyes...
Goodbye BB.
Put my email address as "when is this coming out?". No dice.
What I find most interesting about that article is the fact that he is essentially saying there's nothing really special about the Samsung hardware...something I've said for a long time. He essentially says this phone without ICS would have a hard time distinguishing itself.
That's one of the reasons I've said all along that going the route of an existing piece of hardware like the Razr/Rezound coupled with ICS, might actually wind up being the better software/hardware combination.
Do I know this for sure? Of course not, but it's certainly a possibility. Hate Blur, hate Sense? There's always other launchers out there guys.
Just food for thought.
P3 is still tweeting as of this morning, at least..said yesterday he is keeping his twitter account, though modifying what he says on it.Uh oh - is Verizon really canning employees for leaking info?
Would certainly line up with P3 and Pyde leaving (deactivating) Twitter / devices yesterday.
Uh, there isn't even any remote possibility that Verizon could actually can this phone completely........right??So my buddy who works at a corporate store just let me know that the GNex has completely disappeared from their internal system. That can't be a good sign.

*looks at BB's tagline...*Hmm, no talk of punishment this time, just trouble. *smiles, shrugs and wonders if he really grasps the concept of me and trouble*

AMD stands infront of everyone, touting how thier new architecture is vastly superior and will be faster than anything out there and it's due next year. Next year comes and they've drastically missed the date, and when it finally does release a year later, it's horrible compared to the competition.
Verizon doesn't want to miss a date, so they won't release one until they are 100% certain they can meet it.

Did anyone else get or notice the Verizon LTE Galaxy Nexus ad at the top of the page above all the posts? I tried refreshing a few times but couldn't get it back. Is that new or has that been there for a while?
Why would they advertise adding family share lines with that phone if it's NOT COMING!?![]()
