I'd love to see what the back of the 2150mah looks like. I feel this is a phone that doesn't need a case at all. The back cover is replaceable for cheap and the front can be covered by a screen protector if you wish.

I also hope it's a LiPoly type.

The Seidio HTc TP2 1750 there is a gap. With the Eris 1750 no gap

Aargh, I ordered this one (TP2/Hero) yesterday from Amazon with overnight delivery. So it won't fit properly in my Incredible? This thread says that it fits perfectly .

Edit: I just chatted with the Seidio folks:
You are next in queue. We will be with you in just a moment.
Gary: Hello! Thank you for contacting Seidio Online! How can I help you today?
Amin Sabet: Hello, Is the Seidio 1750 mah battery for HTC Touch Pro 2 and Hero the same as the Seidio 1750 mah battery for HTC Eris and Incredible? I have the Touch Pro 2 battery and would like to use it in my Incredible. Thanks.
Gary: I'm sorry but that battery is not compatible with the Droid Eris/Incredible.
Amin Sabet: OK, thanks

:(

Here is a pic of my seido battery in action

Something I noticed this morning that surprised me but made sense I guess. For the first time, I charged the seidio battery in the phone rather than in the desktop charger. And voila, when I unplugged it the battery started at 99% and then dropped to 92% with one call and couple emails.

That was the same problem I had with charging the oem in the phone! Needless to say I wasn't happy so I pulled the oem charger off the desktop charger and put in the phone. And for the first time ever it showed a 100% charge and stayed there for 30 minutes before dropping to 99%.

So the moral of the story appears to be that the desk charger will give you a better charge than plugging in the phone. At least for me.

What desk charger are you talking about?

Any word on if the existing cases will fit with the extended battery? Or if there is a special case that will be available for the extended battery? As much as I want the 2150 battery, I can not get myself to purchase it if there are not going to be any protective cases available for it at launch. I am pushing my luck already carrying this thing around with no case ... already had a few close calls with almost dropping out of my hands.

I already own the 1750 battery and I am happy with it. I'll just wait to hear from everyone else's experiences with the 2150 before I make yet another purchase for this phone.

I ordered one of these this morning. 14.99 total as has been said.

Did anyone that ordered get an e-mail confirmation with a tracking #? I didn't write down his confirmation # since he said there would be an e-mail. I'm just hoping he wrote my email down properly since I haven't gotten one yet.

How can you discern that?Just curious.

From the photo of it in the PDF he linked I'm guessing. I think he is saying it will have the same design, not be the exact same. The topographic desing will be perfect for a bigger battery without taking away from the overall look of the phone. And since it is said to only increase the thickness by 1mm, it should hardly be noticable - unlike that horendous looking photo at the top of this page.

I got it at seidioonline.com. It's a battery only charger with folding blades to use to plug into AC or power via USB. I plug mine into the wall and always keep a second battery charged. They also have some available on eBay. Well worth the price. Sorry I can't post a link but I'm in a meeting.

There is insanity here, no doubt. If the claim is true the 2150 battery from Verizon adds 1mm to the phone, that's nothing. A nickel is 1.95mm thick. Do the math.

How it looks is irrelevant to me, I want the power. Am I the only one?

Then again I've always been like this with electronics, function over form.

Agree 100%.

I don't care if the battery makes the back of my phone looks like Lemmy from Motorhead, as long as I can get through an entire day of heavy use without having to disable everything on the phone.

Those battery life saving threads are great and I appreciate the effort put into them, but why the hell would you buy this phone if you are just going to turn off all the G.D. features that are the reason you bought the thing to begin with?

LOL. Talk about being obsessed with this phone...!

so if I'm to understand this correctly, in order to get the most out of this battery (at least in your limited experience with the battery), you have to use the desktop charger? which means that you have to take the battery out of the phone every time you want to charge it? this seems like a slight hassle, especially if you have a form-fitting case

So when is this puppy getting released? Local VZW stores know nothing about a release date, but have a bunch (apparently) of people asking for one.

Ya, I think the 1mm rumor is something that has spread and was morphed from the original .100 inch (2.54mm) rumor, which is more likely, but still pretty small.

I just took my OEM battery out to measure it.

Thickness is about 0.175 inch (varies due to paper)
Length: 2.57 inch
Width: 1.725

Volume: 0.776 in^3
Ampere-hours: 1300 mAh

or A-h/Vol. = 1675 mAh/in^3

If we assume the same energy density of the extended battery, with the same length and width,

(2150 mAh / ( (1675 mAh/in^3)*1.725in*2.57in) ) = Thickness = 0.290 inch

So the extended battery will be about 0.290 inches thick, for a difference of 0.115 inches (2.9mm)
over the stock battery

Add in the current thickness of the Incredible, 0.48 inch (12.2mm), the extended battery will increase the thickness by about 24%, for a 65% increase in battery power.

This is not fact, just an exercise in estimation based on our current knowledge.

I dont think its gunna be the same exact back ... if that was the case, why would they sell another backing with the battery. Its probably the same design, just a few mm's thicker.

Yes, I should have said that. I was only referring to the design.
