Why didn't HTC just make a better battery if they knew this was going to be an issue and raise the price slightly????????

I want to pass along some additional info I found. Especially the part about doing it 2-3 times.

I was looking through and I don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet but this is how I solved my battery woes..

I have both the standard and extended inocell from seidio. Neither seemed to be making a difference with my battery life and a friend gave me this suggestion and it has made ALL the difference for both of us.

1. With the phone on, charge the battery until it says its full [for those without the widget, when the green light is on]. At this point shut off the phone and notice that it will go back into orange and continue charging. This will keep going for about a half hour and then turn green when complete.
2. Unplug your phone. Turn the phone back on. Drain a little bit. I gave mine 5-10%. Repeat step one.
3. Do this a total of 2-3 times....
4. Enjoy your newfound battery life...

And if anyone can explain why this is, I'd be apperciative. It sounds crazy and I didn't believe it until I tried it and it made ALL the difference. Especially since I would unplug my phone and instantly be down to 96-97%. Now it actually drains like I would expect it to.

For those who have received their sleeve, what is the possibility of accidentally swiping down (and possibly answering the call) when you pull it out?

I know that the screens usually only respond to bare skin, but if the neoprene is thin...

Pretty excited about the sleeve idea, I'm coming from a BB Pearl, and liked how that sleeved added almost no bulk to the phone

well, I am glad you got to order one:D....I just hope I will still be able to on Mon or maybe I will try tom:confused:....just worried that they stop letting you order it....but hey, they are getting money out of it:rolleyes:

Thanks! :D

I think you will be able to get one! I just told them that I bought a N1 from eBay and I don't have the number that they wanted off of it. I said I wanted to get the case around when I received the phone so that's why I was ordering now.

Good luck! :D

exactly, WTF. im tired of manufacturers doing this kind of shit to people. during the months of testing and QC no one noticed the terrible battery life? its impossible no one noticed this. so that they can sell extended batteries.

**********Guys get it from mygearstore.com. They have it with a 10% off discount AND add MOM25 as a coupon for an additional 25% off. Got mine for $34.00**********

I ordered a battery from MyGearStore on Thursday the 6th and received an email telling me that they were back ordered until the 14th...

FYI - My Moto Droid had a pretty decent battery life (I could use moderate to heavily during the day, and still rely on it to last from approx 8:00 am to 7:30 pm). It didn't let me down using Pandora, Slacker, or the MP3 app for approx 2-3 hours, constant email reading/writing, checking news, weather, about an hour of voice calls.

My HTC Inc...um, for the same amount of use, it would have to be charged at about 3:30-4:00. Unacceptable.

I ordered the TP2/Imagio 1500 mah OEM battery from ebay for 12.00 plus shipping (17.00). Got it in 4 days, and this is the result.

From 8:00 am, until about 12:00 am (16 hours), with fairly heavy useage I'm now at about 15%. Up Hours: 16, Awake Hours 6.

Not bad, and with some people's experiences it seems comparable to the Seidio 1750 mah, maybe a little less.

But this is actually comparable or maybe a slight improvement over my Droid, so I'm happy and now I feel confident the phone won't let me down when I need it most (keeping fingers crossed).

Also, the battery is a bit more snug, but the back cover fits well with no bulge, and the black high-gloss silicon case from Verizon works great. Slightly heavier but nothing that noticeable.

Thanks

An hour and a half? Yikes I will be returning mine if that's the case when it comes and I test it.

I would maybe pay 10 dollars for 1.5 hours of extra battery life.

" an hour and a half" is a fairly useless term unless you are 100% sure it lasted 90 incremental minutes under identical workloads, and it's very relevant under what those conditions are.

1.5 more hours of constant 3g video streaming = amazing
1.5 more hours of music playback in airplane mode = snore

this is why I am testing under identical conditions, see my sig

every time I see someone describe their usage pattern as "heavy" or "moderate" I know what follows is useless

Your point is valid, but sorry, people who have jobs, take classes, and have families don't spend $200+ on a product, just to make additional time playing scientist when the phone should work fine and be dependable right out of the box.

They don't have to post *any* comments at all, at least they're contributing at all. "Useless".

And FYI, my times were comparable from the Droid, to DINC 1300 mah, to TP2/Imagio 1500 mah. Same useage, typical day, from 8:00 am lasting throughout the day.

I know it's no fun to have the extra bulk, but I just checked Seidio's website and apparently a 3500 mah battery is on the way. I'm sure it's more expensive? And heavier and bigger? But hell, to have a battery nearly 3x the size of stock, why not? I'm anxious for this to get released and give this a go!

Was also curious if the VZW hard case fits in the sleeve?
Is anyone going to answer this? Looks like two people asked but nobody replied or knows for sure. I'd like to know as well if the phone encased with a verizon hard shell would fit in this sleeve? If not, anyone know of a sleeve it might fit in? Thanks! :)

Wow that is unacceptable! Since Thursday, they have already knew the problem, but the item is still listed available?!

Does it feel bulky when it's in your pocket?

i personally do not think that it does.

i have not had any issues with the phone answering calls while i pull it out. one thing that you'll miss from the blackberry sleeves is the magnet functions. loved how when you pulled the phone out the screen would already be on and unlocked. now you'll have to hit the power button and swipe/unlock

i dont have any of the hard shell cases. i have the verizon silicon case. the fit is tight. getting it in isnt too bad but pulling it out is tough. dont know if the neoprene would stretch with time allowing it to be easier.

Yeah, at least I received the email within an hour of ordering it... I feel sorry for all of you who may have ordered it over the weekekend and will get this email on Monday.

Maybe because you spelled Coeur d' Alene wrong?
HAHA typo on my part! she did try

Coeur d' alene
coeurd' alene
coeurd alene
coeur d alene
coeur dalene
!!! and nothing, just glad it went through, but still have to wait till monday to talk to my bank and see if they can drop that $90 in held charges!

alright, I will amend by saying that it's far more usefull to you than anyone else, b/c you are the only one with a hope of knowing 100% what your usage pattern is.

I just think people using terms like "moderate" and "heavy", add more confusion to the discussion than anything b/c people define these things differently.

all that being said, if you did X w/ the Droid and again with the Incredible, and saw changes, then that is data that you can use.

Im still taking my chances with mygearstore.com. The site says the 11th, the email says the 14th. I can wait the 3 days considering the price that I am getting it at.

Im just hoping I dont get screwed like some of those people on resellerratings. The amazon review pages is mostly pleasant so Im holding out because of that.

3rd full charge on my Seido 1750.

Uptime: 16:09
Awake Time: 1:24

Usage:
Android System - 96%
Cell Standby - 2%

65% charge left...

Probably not HTC more likely VZW. They were not going to risk losing customers by offering their device which is similar to the N1 at a much higher price.
