No, but you're only getting about 200mAh more. Maybe less. Which is enough for an extra hour or so, but nowhere near the advertised amount.

I'd also be willing to bet that HTC batteries will have a longer lifetime than Seidio. The tests showed that a two month old Seidio battery (1750mAh) had already dropped to 79% usable capacity.

But if you don't believe it, put your money where your mouth is. Send the battery off to Doug and see what results he gets!


Just something to be aware of, anyway.

Ya know, I'm really not all that concerned about Doug's testing and all the numbers. All I know is that I'm getting longer battery life out of their battery and that's the bottom line for me. I will, however, keep track of whether or not the batter life diminishes over time. That is yet to be determined since I'm still on my first charge!

No problem. We've got a guy from one of Seidio's UK retailers on the case in the Desire forum. If we ever get an explanation from them, I'll make sure to post it in here too.

Mugen (another extended life battery company) have already admitted that they specifically manufacture their batteries to have about 80-85% capacity. So watch out for them too

Please do post that info if you get it. It might become invaluable for many. I'm happy with my SEIDIO and would buy one again (don't hate on me ), but this kind of info needs to brought out if it holds true and factual.

I thought the batteryboss guys methods were called into question because of how/where he gets his batteries to test. I remember seeing something about it on these forums.

afaik, most of the batteries he's used have been brand new and bought from official suppliers.

Check the thread(s) on XDA for more details. And, as mentioned, Mugen have already confirmed that their batteries do indeed operate in the 80-85% range, which is pretty much consistent with his findings.

HTC also confirmed for me that their batteries do operate in the 95%+ range, which is again consistent with his results.

Seidio are just refusing to answer anybody's emails on the subject.

I just got my sideo extended 1750 and after pulling it off the charger it lasted 27 hours and 3 minutes with moderate to heavy use. 8 of those hours with the mobile network off while I slept and on Tue rest of the time. Personally I'm sold.

just ordered my 1750! after i woke up this morning with a fully charged phone, began using it and could literally watch the phone go down 15% in 30 minutes i said that is enough! i don't feel like i should have to turn off my smartphones capabilities just cause the battery sucks. hopefully the 1750 takes care of that!

Okay, I finally killed the 1st charge of the Seidio.

The stats...

Up time 6:59
Awake time 3:59
Android System 48%
Cell Standby 18%
Display 15%
Phone Idle 9%
Internet 5%
Maps 3%
Mediaserver 2%

Oh, I should add that this was at 9% remaining but decided to plug it in.

So I'm getting about an hour and a half more battery life out of this and I think my usage was a bit heavier than a typical work day. It should get me through the day with normal usage but it's DEFINITELY better than the stock batt without adding any size or weight. Hope that it gets even better after 5-6 charges like they claim! I think 1.5 hrs of USAGE time is a lot different than having the phone last an extra 1.5 hrs while it's sleeping. But while it's worth it to me, obviously it's not to others.

I will take my chances on it for $33 even if it is only a litlte better than stock i still wanted a spare. If i paid $50 + and it wassnt much better i would be a little upset maybe.

Nope. You can also use the Touch Pro2 battery which is 1500 mAh. That's what I'm using until my Seidio shows up.

I can confirm that charging it to full, unplugging and turning off the phone, then replugging and letting it top off the charge does add significant amount of battery life. Instead of dropping to 90% within an hour, I'm at 92% after almost 3 hours of moderate use.

I really wish we could come up with a fix for this.

Actually I don't think this really helps all that much. Like you guys, I tried this trick to turn off the phone and charge it further. and in the beginning I was also getting the great results. Dropping only to 98% after an hour and only 76% after 7 hours! But then when it hit 11 hours I was down to 35%. What the hell? Don't know what happened as I didnt' do anything special the last 4 hours but the battery percentage dropped like a rock. So in the end, I ended up at my average of about 14 hours. So it might start of better, but at the end of the day it's the same... maybe 30 minutes more at the most.

Aww, sorry to hear that. Yeah I called late today and the guy did it. It was taking a while for him while I was on the phone so he apologized and said "I have never really done orders that much before". So I don't know who I talked to but he did it without a hassle and I got my confirmation email immediately.

well, I am glad you got to order one....I just hope I will still be able to on Mon or maybe I will try tom....just worried that they stop letting you order it....but hey, they are getting money out of it

WHOA, that doesn't sound right. I'll monitor mine to see if it does a nose dive but that would very unexpected.
