There is no multitouch in the Sense UI keyboard

There is, however, a keyboard replacement that will do the trick. Smart Keyboard Android application | Droid Dog

That looks pretty solid, thanks for the help! Hopefully it gets updated for 2.1 pretty quickly after the Inc is released! :D

Follow up question: Will something like this replace the keyboard in just certain places, or will it be everywhere the keyboard shows up?

After 2 1/2 weeks of letting the Moto Devour hold me over I'm taking the phone back tomorrow to return to the EnV Touch to wait on the Incredible. What I don't need to happen is to keep the Devour any longer than need be and something serious happens to the phone (crack in the screen, etc). I'm taking all precautions with this one. I went into the store today and for the first time the phone was acknowledged, so that's a good sign.

In case anyone was wondering, so long as you return the phone within the allotted 30 days you will get your $100 NE2 credit back. Couple that with the rebate and you've got a pretty fantastic deal on a flagship phone.

I'm one of those guys who have grown to love a physical keyboard because my fingers are too big, but I've been practicing on the Devour's touchscreen keyboard and have found it simpler and faster to use than the QWERTY keyboard. I'm excited about this phone's release. Its way past due Verizon started releasing decent phones again. I haven't seen this much excitement since the Voyager to be honest.

Is anyone else a bit bummed that we don't have 576mb or RAM or WiFi n? I would rather have the 5mp camera and more ram. However, I think I'll live with this workhorse.

All places. And Sense keyboard 1.5 & 2.1 don't have multitouch.

I wanna get the phone in hand first. I wanna first learn the Android OS, then I will play with adding software. I will be asking folks for advice.

I mean, I coming from WM 6.1. It's a lot different.

It is different, but I came to Android from WM 6.5 that I had flashed onto my HTC Touch Pro and I didn't think the transition was too bad. Now if you plan on modding your phone and flashing all sorts of ungodly goodness on it, then you'll need some help at first, but otherwise I find the newer versions of the OS to be pretty user friendly.

Well now, that's pretty interesting. Where did you find that located?

Yeah, that uses the 3.5mm out. Same one for mp3 playback and a wired headset.

Seeing that yellow RCA cable tells me that they arent planning on streaming 720p out of the phone anytime soon. Thats a composite out. HD video needs to be component. Three separate RCA cables for video, then the two for audio.

But, who knows how many leads are on that 3.5mm out.Hopefully I'm wrong

I have NO CLUE about the answer to this, but I bet someone with an Eris here can test that exact senario out for you on their phone and that might answer the question for you. I would think it would have everything to do with Sense UI. So...
WHO HAS AN ERIS TO TEST THIS OUT WITH?

I would actually like to have this question answered myself as well.
Here's a Magic with someone turning it off. There's no menu item, but it gets the job done.

not me!! I'm coming off the HTC Touch (dinosaur)

Thank you Verizon!

I asked the thread earlier if my NE2, which kicks in on the 29th, would be available on the 19th for the preorder since I wouldn't actually get the phone until the 29th. Well, I asked Verizon through their website the same question and they said that it would NOT work that way. However, they also said they moved my NE2 up to the 19th so that I could preorder my Incredible!
