Yo, go easy on 'em. I talked to 2 diff. CSRs yesterday because I had issues, too. They all said "we knew this phone would be big, but we are swamped with way more calls and orders than what we expected, and the system has been crashing intermittently." In fact, it was down for hours.

If you've ever dealt with irate customers, it's not fun. I'm usually at an advantage 'cause I have an IV needle in my hand :D

All I know is OFTEN the squeaky wheel gets the grease. I'm ready to be greased now.

I've been following for...well, I don't know how many hundreds of pages. I haven't seen this asked, so my apologies in advance if it has.

The Federal government contracts with Verizon alway delay being able to purchase newly released phones for a while. Has anyone heard when the Incredible will be available for those contract holders?

man the upgrade im using which is my aunts her NE2 is august 7th, and its for 100 dollars thats some BS especially since she has been a customer since 1994! F verizon and there pickiness!

Has anyone else gotten this phone early? I tried ordering through a CSR just now and they said the phone is on hold.

I'd be interested in pre-ordering if I got my phone early!!!

If you got it early, post your story maybe name of csr? would be helpful. Also if you are ordering online don't forget to put the code for free ON shipping!

LOL this video cracked me up! I bust out laughing at the final Incredible comment!!

Thanks SoSmarmy!

So do they have an 8GB MiniSD card in them from Verizon?

I'm pretty sure you asked about a MINI card a few times. Just to save yourself some grief, the Incredible uses a MICRO card. Don't get the wrong type.

I've got a few questions regarding the screen of the Incredible.

  1. It uses the exact same AMOLED screen as the N1 (although for some reason the physical size of the screen on the Incred appears slightly narrower), correct?
  2. The Incredible uses a DIFFERENT touch processing chip than the N1, which is why it doesn't have any of the multitouch issues, correct?
  3. Are both of these points true, and if so, have we confirmed that the Incredible does in fact use the PenTile Matrix pixel arrangement, as described here?

Thanks in advance.

I've got a few questions regarding the screen of the Incredible.

It uses the exact same AMOLED screen as the N1 (although for some reason the physical size of the screen on the Incred appears slightly narrower), correct? I have read that the screen is narrower but is longer so it still is 3.7". Though I don't think it was by much you could still notice side by side.
The Incredible uses a DIFFERENT touch processing chip than the N1, which is why it doesn't have any of the multitouch issues, correct? Correct the processor is MUCH better in the Increcible.
Are both of these points true, and if so, have we confirmed that the Incredible does in fact use the PenTile Matrix pixel arrangement, as described here? There hasn't been any confirmation of this but I would assume so since all of HTC's AMOLED displays use it. Apparently it saves power. Why my AMOLED has pinkish tint (Answer inside) - UPDATED - xda-developers

Thanks in advance.

I got them to move my NE2 date!!

Here's Verizon's reply:

Mr. XXXXX, I have authorized for your New Every Two upgrade eligibility date to be changed from 9/03/2010 to 4/20/2010 so you can upgrade to the HTC Droid Incredible Smartphone about four months earlier. Verizon Wireless introduced the New Every Two program to give our customers an opportunity to receive up to a $50 discount on a new wireless device after completing 20 months of a two-year Customer Agreement since your last discounted equipment purchase.

Mr. XXXXX, I also wanted to take a moment to thank you: You have been a loyal customer since 2005, and that longevity is appreciated. I hope we remain your favorite wireless service provider for many years to come.

Sah-weet!! Pre-ordering.....NOW!!

where did you go to send out this email? I have been trying to get my NE2 moved up from August, but i am unable to find where you send an email to make it happen. could you post the link?

Just returned my Eris yesterday. Took 1.5 hours. It took an hour to buy the darn thing! How can you guys deal with the stores? This was my first experience buying from the stores (always bought online before). I will never buy/deal with a store again!

Now I just have to wait 3 days to pre-order so I don't get charged a $35 restocking fee. They told me at the store that all devices, as of a few days ago, will require a restocking fee. So no more taking advantage of that...

Did anyone mention this?

HTC has even improved upon the copy and paste functions of the phone, making the process much more iPhone-like, but expanding on that with options to share and look up your selections via a context menu.

I couldn't stand the copy/paste on the Eris and was really hoping this would be improved!

Here's an interesting question.

I was once a Verizon customer at least 4 years ago and I had access to my account online. Yesterday at work I entered my old username and password and I was signed in but the screen had nothing on it. I tried to add a line and I was told to call Customer Service.

I pre-ordered thru BB. When I pick up the phone on the 29th, is there a way to tie it to my old online username and password?

elementfire180: here you go...

Enter your location

Just go to the email section and click the drop down menu/click monthly statement and then select the upgrade question...

Then in the email make your case. Tell them how long you've been a customer that you're excited about the Incredible and that you want to continue being a customer of theirs. Don't beg - but don't be mean either.

My fingers are crossed for you let me know what happens...GOOD LUCK!!

So I saw a Droid (Motorola) commercial today and it ends with the "Droid Does." I started thinking about all the stuff the Incredible does better and think that the slogan for the Incredible should be, "When Droid doesn't, Incredible does."

Congrats to those who got their phone early. I'm hoping mine ships soon too.
