When mine gets here today, I'm tempted to go over to the local Verizon store and ask about the Incredible to see what they have to say. When they play stupid, I'll pull out this Unicorn and then we'll see what they have to say.

I would like to see the manager grab it out of your hands and try to say you stole it.

Eforcity has the desk and car charger we need and a USB charging/data cable for $16 - $6 off with coupon code EFWS041907= $10 with free shipping.

Car / Travel Charger + Data / Charging Cable (Micro USB) for Blackberry / LG / Motorola

I would not buy anything from eForCity that plugs into my $500+ device. Last time I bought a charger from them for my Chocolate, sparks flew... literally. They did replace it with the same thing, which I was too afraid to use...

Thanks for your nice reply. I really dont think anyone could help me. I just need to find someway to get the new iPhone and put android on it
One thought I had about that, is that most of the phone OSes get optimized for the hardware they run on, and, even though people have made an OS run on other HW (like putting Android on the HD2), most likely it's not going to run as well as the OS that was originally designed for that specific phone. So, even if A-2.1 could run on an iPhone, it might not perform as well as it could on another handset that was designed for Android from the outset.

Other thought: while I too, feel the pro/con list was slanted, one thing I did notice was, even though video quality can be tweaked w/ settings (color balance, contrast, etc.), the audio from the Inc. in the quiet backyard was still not as good as the audio in the iPwn video.

That being said, that is probably the one area where I would give a 1-up to the competition, and realize that the Inc. is very rockin' in almost every area! :)

"Our records indicate you recently purchased a device for this line of service but have not activated it yet. You have the option to proceed with your online equipment order after you have activated your new device, or you may contact Customer Service at (800) 922-0204 for further assistance."

I'm looking forward to my conversation with the CSR @ (800) 922-0204. It'll sound a little like this:

CSR: Thank you for calling VZW, this is **** how may I help you today.

Me: Waaaaahh!

CSR: I'm sorry sir, I can't make out what you are saying.

Me: Wwaaaaah! It's not fair! Waaaaah!

CSR: If you will just calm down and explain what's wrong, I would be able to help you.

Me: Really? <sniffle>

CSR: Really. Now what can I do for you today?

Me: I pre-ordered my HTC Droid Incredible at 12:0 Freaking 2 on Monday morning and was promised a delivery date of April 29th. Others were promised the same and have gotten theirs today. I want mine today too!

CSR: You will get yours . . . ON THE DATE PROMISED, April 29th. Now eat it you big baby!

Okay, so I've looked through a few pages to see if this has been posted before, HTC Incredible and EVO 4G to feature new maXTouch sensors – Android and Me

It's about the multitouch issue from Nexus One not being present in the Incredible. I know NKT addressed this a LONG time ago, but the article has a video demonstrating it.

Anyway, sorry if this has been posted before, but sifting through this monster of a thread is daunting. I looked through a few of the most recent pages and didn't see it.

EDIT: Also mentions some other (probably more important in the long run :-P) features. Like unlimited touches? Does that mean what I think it does?

hey verizon has put up a red snap on cover on their site to go along with the clear one..its pretty nice and i just ordered it. and used code FREEOVERNT im sure were all tired of hearin that..haha heres the link

Im talking about the new iPhone

For storage id take internal over micro sd. I shouldnt have to spend another 40 bucks just to get memory. It should be in my phone already. I want all my files to be saved on one memory medium. I dont want 10 pictures on the phone and 20 on the disk and take the card out to my computer and go o sheet I forgot to transfer them or save them to the sd card. I just see no point in removable memory. I just see no point in memory cards
For anyone who is having a debate in their own mind about which way is better of internal vs. card based storage for any phone they're thinking about getting, there are pros and cons for both:

For the most part, internal memory will be faster.

For convenience, a removable card can be great, since I can then put that card in any computer and print the pics, play the music, watch the video on a bigger screen, etc., all without having to worry about having the proper sync software or drivers installed, or if that phone is going to play nice with this computer, etc.

does anyone know if the invisisheild protectors goes over the whole front of phone or just the display like typical verizon protectors? cause i want the whole phone covered..

I went with size over high speed performance.

16gb class 2 instead of a 8gb class 6.

Do you think I'll regret that choice? Is it going to be that noticable? I don't play any games.

Anyone?

About this SDHC Speed Class thing.

My company develops a high end video processing product. This whole SDHC card speed class thing is based on the SD Card Association spec, which tests the minimum sustained transfer rate. Class 2 = 2Mbits/second, Class 4 = 4Mbits/second, Class 6 = 6Mbits/second. And that's when the fun starts. Many vendors are renowned for playing fast and loose with their testing. Some quote maximum transfer rate, which is a very different animal to minimum sustained transfer rate.

Here's a quote from someone I respect as a definitive source on these cards. Be careful out there, OK? There's high performance products, or cheap products. Choose one.

Sorry, especially SANDISK fools consumers - they have a lot of SDHC WITHOUT class-declaration and some "SD" with fantasy-class-declaration.

I don't know another manufacturers who makes such sh.i.t.

They also have "videoHD"-SDHCs to give the impression, other cards are not suited for hd video. class4 is to slow for hd video - f.e. Canon SX1 ... 43 Mbps = 5.4 MBps

Otherwise the write on class 4 "15mb" - I think they don't know about SD/SDHC/CLASS. But their prices are 3x as high as other cards!

Is a Sandisk class4 15 mb card a class 4 or is it a class15 ? Or vary production so, that class 4 is garanteed and they fool people with "on sunny day and withfresh oiled camera you can perhaps .. and with luck ... reach15 mb" ?

FWIW, 4Mbits/s is a reasonable bit rate for 720P HD video [1280 x 720]. Its too slow for the larger 1920 x 1080 frame sizes typical for higher end HD video cameras. I'd be quite ok with using a 'real' Class4 sdhc card in my Inc. Its waaay fast enough for music, of course.

For $485 and no contract it's not a bad deal for someone who was going to have to pay full retail. Just doesn't come with a box which for me is sorta a deal breaker...

I don't understand, if I kept all of the boxes to all of the phones, mp3 players, xboxes, televisions, new pc, etc, etc....I wouldn't have room in my home. I'm not sure I understand the infatuation with keeping/collecting boxes.

I pre-ordered mine last night so I could get a fee month of service and the guy said he would have to call me back on the 29th to confirm total price before it ships.

I was like "so this is not a pre-order as I can't pre-order it now" He agreed with me, lol

Yo, go easy on 'em. I talked to 2 diff. CSRs yesterday because I had issues, too. They all said "we knew this phone would be big, but we are swamped with way more calls and orders than what we expected, and the system has been crashing intermittently." In fact, it was down for hours.

If you've ever dealt with irate customers, it's not fun. I'm usually at an advantage 'cause I have an IV needle in my hand :D

Well, that shows how out of touch Vzw is. I mean, this was a no-brainer: what if we installed hottest (and free) OS on phone with the form factor that's been most popular for the last 3 years and finally installed a capable processor? Think anyone would buy it?

A-yeah.

hahaha @SoSmarmy

THAT's SOOO AWESOME!!! YOU got the phone early! :D super congrats to you man, that's VERY exciting. Enjoy the next week with a phone that NO ONE else has yet :)

Seriously, have fun w it! If you want to post any more videos for the rest of us waiting, feel free!!

Calm the haters!? I think that video was intended only to stoke the flames of jealousy. We're happy you got your phone man, that doesn't mean you have to treat the rest of us like idiots.

What are you talking about? He just sounded confused and excited to somehow get his phone so early. We've spent months watching this thread and suddenly somebody gets one early, makes a vid and posts it and you want to bash him and act like he's talking down to everyone. Let's just enjoy the chance to get another early look at this phone. LUCKY YOU SOSMARMY!!!
