When mine gets here today, I'm tempted to go over to the local Verizon store and ask about the Incredible to see what they have to say. When they play stupid, I'll pull out this Unicorn and then we'll see what they have to say.

Yeah.. just go in there and ask them if they can show you some new cases for new phone.

I actually think this is a perfect design, so when you buy your protective cover, the camera will end up being flush with it.

Also, for anyone worrying about the 'protruding lens thing' on the back of the Inc., remember that the lens is recessed from the edge of the surrounding trim ring the same amount as the lens is from the back of a smooth surfaced phone.

Since the protrusion then puts the phone at a slight angle when laying on its back (thereby preventing the lens from being completely parallel to the surface it's on), if anything, the Inc.'s camera lens is better protected than most other phones.

Also, I have seen many people prone to putting their finger (or whatever) in front of the lens on their phone when taking a picture, since it's hard to judge exactly where the lens actually is. With the protrusion, there is no doubt to anyone where the lens is on the other side of the phone, when you're taking pictures.

Perhaps this is an actual design feature, and not an oversight, after all....

does the Droid Incredible have its own graphics co-processor like the Droid or not?

Yeah, Snapdragon has a built-in GPU. Not quite as good as the one in the OMAP (it's an older ATI design), but that doesn't really matter much. It's about as good as the iPhone 3GS's.

You waNt it? You got it!

Unless VZW still hasn't figured out what kind of wireless they put into this thing and are training all their folks (as recently as TODAY) with bad information, this is as good as GUARANTEED!

"Consider this myth busted!"

WIRELESS N ON THE DROID INCREDIBLE?...CONFLIPPIN'FIRMED

Sorry if this was settled already but I looked and couldn't find it posted. I assume that some review of the phone would have confirmed this so I'm not holding my breath...but Anon was batting 1000, so what's the final verdict on wireless n?

for getting Exchange based emails (using SSL), is it necessary to use an app like Touchdown or will ActiveSynch take care of this?

Edit: CyberVike already posted the link.

I have an 8gb class 6 Transcend MicroSD card from my LG Dare that I will just move over to the Droid Incredible. That will suit me until the prices of the 16gb or 32gb drop.

Jeez...I have a 16GB class 2 Sandisk microSDHC...

Won't it work properly in the Incredible I have on order?

uh-oh, just checked the Verizon order status page and now my order can't be found. that can't be good.

Love how being a business customer, and having 27 lines, a few usb dongles and a 3k + monthly bill entitles me to not be allowed to pre-order.

Thanks VZW

With so many posts to go through I figured I would just ask. Hopefully it has not been answered yet.

The manual states you need a microSD card to save pictures. Has this been confirmed? You cannot use the internal memory to save pictures?

If that is confirmed, then besides music what can be saved on the internal memory? I know apps only save on teh 512MB of ROM.

Thanks

C'mon guys. I got an email from Boxwave (who makes really good screen protectors) which said:

"We are currently developing our ClearTouch Crystal for new models, so we appreciate your suggestion since we develop our products based on the number of requests we receive for a particular model.

We will let you know when the ClearTouch Crystal does become available for your unit.
"

If we get enough people interested they will roll this out much faster.

So, I know that Android devices can't recognize 32 gb Micro cards right now, but I thought I read somewhere that if you could format it you could get it to work in the phone. I have a number of devices that could format a 32 gb card, so would I be able to get it to work or is this still a no go until they patch android?

Ok, great choice.

But that wasn't my question. Do you think there will be a significant difference between Class 2 and Class 6?

More along the lines that, will it hinder the performance of things running off of it?

Yes. But it depends on the application. From what I've read, it's the write speeds that are really dependent upon the class. If you're running an app that is constantly writing to the card, like recording a video, then you'll likely notice a huge difference between class speeds of 2 and 6. For playing music back from the device, probably no discernible difference whatsoever.

Personally, I went with an 8GB class 6 card for $17 at Newegg. A 16GB class 6 card was easily 3-4 times as expensive. I didn't think the extra space was worth that much more money right now. In a year or two the prices will drop quite a bit and I may get a larger card then. For now the 16GB total should be enough.
