So here's a question I haven't seen asked: I know OLED doesn't reflect sunlight as well as LCD, but much of the time that I am in direct sunlight, I have my :cool:sunglasses:cool: on (actually, my daughter just broke them and I need to get a new pair:(). That said, does anyone know about the visibility of an OLED screen in sunlight, through sunglasses? What about polarized sunglasses?

For the record, responses will not make a hill of beans worth of difference as to whether or not I buy the device once my NE2 comes up in May, I don't think I could talk myself out of the purchase now if I wanted to. Just curious.:p

I'd think polarized sunglasses would be your best bet at seeing the screen in sunlight with the reduced glare, but i'm curious as well. good question! that is a good point with people saying how much it sucks in sunlight. well... if it's that sunny outside, you're probably wearing sunglasses!

Dude! Congrats! How are you guys getting it early!? When did you place your order? I ordered mine on 12:01am on Saturday night. Will I get mine today too!! I ordered it overnight shipping to California.

Saturday or Sunday? Or 12:01 AM Monday?

My conf email says that the order date was 4/18..

When I check the status online it says the order date is the 19th.

Here is the status of your order.
Order Date: 04/19/2010

Yes. But it depends on the application. From what I've read, it's the write speeds that are really dependent upon the class. If you're running an app that is constantly writing to the card, like recording a video, then you'll likely notice a huge difference between class speeds of 2 and 6. For playing music back from the device, probably no discernible difference whatsoever.

Personally, I went with an 8GB class 6 card for $17 at Newegg. A 16GB class 6 card was easily 3-4 times as expensive. I didn't think the extra space was worth that much more money right now. In a year or two the prices will drop quite a bit and I may get a larger card then. For now the 16GB total should be enough.

You rock!

Thanks for the clarification.

Polarized sunglasses - Good question! What about when you rotate the phone to landscape?

Was your credit/debit card charged when you order?
If you don't mine, could you go to Check Your Status - Verizon Wireless and check what it says??

Enjoy your Inc. I really hope mine comes in today as well
My credit card was changed right away from the order. I purchased over the phone. That check your status doesn't work for telesales. I tried it yesterday and it came back with no record of the sale. It says below that if you ordered over the phone, you need to call it in for a status check.

Yep, that confirms it. Only orders that DID NOT go through the site have a slim chance of getting it early.

well, I just spent $60 on a 16gb Class 6 A-Data micro SDHC card. almost as much as i spent on the phone! lol.. not to get a great case and a screen protector.. should be good to go after that!

So if they clearly have the inventory of the phone and are shipping it out randomly to people, why not just start fulfilling the pre-orders? Not like anything is going to change between now and next Thursday and they are just sitting in a warehouse somewhere.

Your avatar picture got me. Nice one.

actually, orders that DID go through the site have relatively no chance..

everyone that has received phones early ordered by phone.. in fact, you can no longer pre-order the incredible by phone (i don't think we were supposed to be able to, to begin with).. that is where the mix up / early shipping came from.

online / bb orders should be hitting next week

I apologize if I missed this question somewhere along the line, but I searched and couldn't find it. If anyone more knowledgeable than me can help I'd appreciate it...

On ebay a lot of the OEM chargers state they have a smart IC chip to prevent over charging. I looked and these devices from Monoprice don't say they have such a chip (which I assume means they don't). Will these potentially "over charge" your battery and shorten its lifespan? Or is this IC chip thing just a ploy to make the other items sound better?

Thanks in advance!

Hey everyone, just giving this a bump to see if anyone who didn't see it before has an answer. I've tried googling, and asking on several different sites but no one seems to respond. I'd like to buy the monoprice.com accessories but not if they'll damage my battery by overcharging.

I guess everyone is just as clueless on this as I am?

Looked on their website. Doesn't look like they've made cases for every HTC phone. What do you think are the chances that they'll never come out with anything for the Incredible?
Be sure to click through the Phones menu at the top of their store... You'll see that they support a lot (if not all) recent HTC phones: SGPStore.com | iPhone, iPod Cases, Pouches, Protector Film, Camera, Laptop Skin, Metal Skin

So, the odds of them supporting the Incredible are quite good. It's just a matter of when.

I'm pretty sure Verizon wouldn't wait right up until the 28th to start shipping out orders....imagine that chaos....I'm pretty sure phones will be shipping out all week until the 29th for pre-orders...that just makes sense....after the 29th they will be shipped out as ordered...tomorrow four or or five more of our members will have gotten theirs...and Thursday, Friday...etc
