Just a friendly reminder for the benefit of anyone who hasn't read the posts on the opening page of this thread.... I strongly suggest that you do, in order to understand how this particular forum operates. The same basic rules apply though so please, no bashing others opinions or complaints simply because you don't agree with them. Treat others as you'd wish to be treated yourselves and we'll all get on just fine. :)

I'm am soooooooooooooooooooo jealous of the people who got their phones early. If it was acceptable for a 31 year old to throw a tatrum, I would. Not fair! I don't know if I can wait another weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek!

Yes. There are tons of low price 802.1n routers out there.

yep.. remember.. u get what you pay for though too...

everyone says N has better coverage.. o rly? so why is it my neighbors N router can't even be picked up in his living room yet I can pick up my B router in his living room.... 300 feet away. yep. n routers are SOOO much better. i'll pass. thanks.

For what it's worth all....
I just checked my order status and it now has this responce.
Your order has been shipped. You can track your shipment at www.fedex.com. Your tracking number is XXXXXXXX
I check the tracking number and it comes up as being deliverd to Hope,AZ. Signed by "Signature release on file"
I do not have the phone and have not been charged. I am wondering if this is a distr center it was sent to. Has anyone else checked their status?

i love my new Netgear N Router.

on this point:
"The next setup screen asked if I wanted my Internet connection to be "Mobile network or Wi-Fi" or "Wi-Fi only (Don't have a data plan? Choose this one."

not sure how we answer the question -- I have order the "unlimited corporate email & web for smartphone" package -- is this the data plan?

Here's what Android Central has to has about the ROM confusion.

"There's been a little bit of confusion regarding some of the specs of the Verizon*Droid Incredible. Let's clear up on of them.*On every info sheet we've received, ROM -- aka the place to which you can install applications -- is listed at 512 megabytes. When you dive into the phone settings on the device, however, you'll see listed 748MB of "phone storage." So what gives? HTC*now tells us that you can install apps to all of that space, which is a pleasant treat, indeed!!"

Where does the extra ROM space come from? My guess is the 8gb internal storage...

Can anyone with the phone confirm or deny blue tooth dialing? Basically once you pair your blue tooth headset can you initiate voice dialing with a button push? Or do you have to select it with the phone menu first?

Just venting. The Indians lost again :(

But I'm not real happy about waiting for the phone. If they didn't have them, it'd be understandable, but we know that's not the case, so VZW's just F'ing with us.
Not really. Keep in mind VZW also has brick and mortar stores. Making phones available online before they were on sale in stores is a bad business practice, especially since the store is the place where they can easily upsell services and accessories.

Don't get me wrong, I'm looking very forward to the Incredible, I think my Storm knows I am disowning it, since I preordered the Incredible, it keeps shutting off at random times. Plus, I will be sticking with big red for the foreseeable future.
Keeps shutting off? As a fellow Storm user, I can tell you that's par for the course. :D

Anyone who has the Incredible: Can you please confirm...
2) You can't install apps on the internal ROM (the 6.6 GB storage). A few reviews I've read have claimed this but I don't believe it; why else would the memory be there?

The memory is there for two possible reasons:

  1. HTC either expects that it will be possible to install apps to non-ROM locations sometime in the near future
  2. It's a better place for storing frequently accessed files. Not only is the internal memory faster than a SD card, but it also requires less power. Both of these will be invaluable once #1 comes to fruition.

i do not have the phone yet, but I think the answer is 'yes/ confirm

1. even my 'dumb phone' can do it
2. that's what hands-free operation is all about

It's not present in the Nexus One (or any other Android build for that matter), so it's not as straightforward as that :-)

So what exactly IS the PROBLEM with these forums? I have never seen forums drop off so much.

Too much awesomeness concentrated in one thread.

I am getting the same thing and could not take it any more so I called customer service. The guy told me that the orders are placed in a queue and processed in the order they were received. Once your order is processed, your card will be charged (if that's how you paid) and you would get an email indicating processing and shipment. It was at least good to know he could see my order in the system.

latest response from Customer Service (they told me yesterday that they couldnt find my order after I pinged them based on the "order awating approval or phone availability message" we have all been getting":

Thank you for contacting Verizon Wireless through our website. My name is Stephanie and I understand you pre-ordered the HTC Droid Incredible and wish to know when you can expect the delivery and also that since we are unable to locate your order at this time, you wanted to know if it is because it was a pre-order. Knowing when to expect a delivery is very important, especially if is something as exciting as the Incredible. I am eager to assist you today.

The HTC Droid Incredible's pre-order started on 04/19/10 and is set for delivery on 04/29/10. The reason we are unable to locate the order on your account is that it hasn't been fully placed yet as it is more of a placeholder for your order to ensure you get your Incredible.

If you would like to check on the status of your order, you can also reach out to our Internet Orders Team. Their number is 800-711-7773 and their hours of operation are M-F: 8 AM - 9 PM ET Sat: 8 AM - 5 PM ET.

In this email I have let you know that you can expect your Incredible to be delivered on 04/29/10 and it is still in pre-order status so it has not been fully processed yet. I truly hope this information has been helpful.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to assist you today. I make it my goal to provide you with an excellent customer service experience. Thank you for choosing Verizon Wireless, have a great day!

I have not seen anyone mention it yet, but cnet has their review up and rated the incredible excellent, including an editors' choice award. Just thought I would pass that along.
CNET's review can be found here: HTC Droid Incredible (Verizon Wireless) Cell Phone reviews - CNET Reviews. Bonnie Cha doesn't hand out Editor's Choice Awards lightly.

Bonnie was part of CNET's weekly Dialed In podcast last night. The first half was devoted to all the iPhone leak news, but at around 25:25 she talks about the HTC Droid Incredible. I've never seen her give anything such a glowing review. She's definitely excited about the Incredible.

You can view the podcast here: Dialed In - CNET Blogs

I tried the same thing last night with my Moto Droid and Ipod Touch and could not see the dots. My guess is that it shows up when the camera's flash is used to take pictures of the phone.

I seriously don't think it's an issue.

yeah, if its as hard to see the dots on the incredible as it is to see on the iphone I am fine with it. I just snagged my wifes iphone and tried every angle I could to see the dots under bright light with the brightness turned up and I just can't see them.
