You guys who have received a status update to your order. . . did you receive an email stating this, or do you have to keep on checking your order status on the website?
 
You all have fun, I will not be able to follow for a few days. Wife is in Labor :) We are heading to the hospital to meet our first son (and first child) :D

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! here's to a healthy newborn! I don't think it's a coincidence he'll be born during the NFL draft... pick up some footballs on the way! ;)

Nope, no email. I'm thinking we'll get one once it ships, but I just noticed the change from checking.
 
Hi everybody! I'm new here, but I've been learning from all of your posts. (Been following the thread since about page 100 something) Thank you so much for all of the information I simply could not have gotten elsewhere. You guys (& gals) are great!! I know you're sick of the "where is my phone?????" posts, but I haven't seen one like my situation yet. I have a "corporate" account" because it goes through my small business, and we have a family plan. When I placed the order over the internet through VZW like all rest of you, they don't let corporate accounts bill it to their account, so I used a debit card attached to my company's checking account to charge a couple of Incredibles on the pre-order. I'm seeing that all of you got an email confirmation of your order?? I still have yet to receive one of these, but I did do a print screen of the order when I placed it, and I think I have a confirmation number from that screen 32738XXXX. My order status at VZW says the same yada yada about checking back in a few days that everyone else does. I've been checking my bank account to see when the debit goes through, and nothing yet. I called VZW this morning, and told a nice young man that I needed to verify that my order has been placed, because I was concerned that I haven't been notified by email yet there is such an order. He assured me that it will be shipped out on the 29th, to be received on the 30th. Sigh..... Anyone else charge a debit card instead of charging to their VZW account having these same issues?

This will be my first smartphone, and although I consider myself somewhat of a gadget girl, this is the first time in my life I have ordered a phone I have never seen. My husband thinks I'm crazy because I keep refreshing my bank page! I've already ordered a cover (the gradient one) and the 16gb card that both should arrive well before the phone!

It's because 1 gigabyte is technically 1024 megabytes, not 1000.. so 16/1.024 = 15.625 gigs of space, and it is probably reserving some of the space for temp files etc. Hard drive manufacturers do this all the time and it is annoying; buy a 1 TB drive but after formatting it only gives you ~976 GBs.

As an aside my order number is 327380*** and it doesn't show as shipped yet. :mad:

Actually, you have to take it down to the byte level.
Bytes>KB>MB>GB, and each time divide by 1024.

For instance 16,000,000,000 is 16GB is manufacturer's eyes, in RAW unformatted space, however, when you format it, you don't get that full amount of space.

16,000,000,000 Bytes / 1024 = 15,625,000 KB
15,625,000 KB / 1024 = 15,258.789 MB
15,258.789 MB / 1024 = 14.9 GB

Then there are a few small factors that might snag a little more space out of that... but that calculation will always be very close to the exact amount of space available after format.

What a wonderful day for you. Take it from a 3 time father, you'll wish you had the Incredible with you, but that really doesn't matter much I know. All God's blessings to you and your wife.
 
Long time lurker - first time poster:

I got a free 8 GB card with my Dare 2 years ago! Perhaps they are trying to head off the problems with apps that can't use the internal 8GB.

Again including a SD card doesn't help this since apps can't use the memory card either.
 
Can anyone who preorder the phone and have been checking their order statuses do something for me? If you log in to your Verizon Wireless account, and then click on your phone you're upgrading, can you proceed to order the phone again or does it have some text that says something like "this line is waiting on an order" and you can't proceed past that?

I'm able to proceed all the way to pushing the confirm order button, and I don't understand why as I ordered the phone last week on Tuesday. But to anyone that is looking at their order statuses, let me know. This will help me understand if it's just showing me that because they're processing my order or if they canceled my order out of the blue.

Mine is the same as what you have described. I think it is because your card has not officially been charged and the upgrade applied. When the order is processed you will probably see this change. I am going to check with VZW CSR later today.

I used a debit card for mine. It was not charged until yesterday when the order status changed from 'check back in a few days' to 'your orders been processed, will recieve in 2-3 business days' etc.

When I initially submitted my preorder online early this week, I immediately got a confirmation email for the order showing the billing/shipping address, order number, etc.

I am now showing an order status of processing. When I first ordered the phone last Sunday night I got the message that I couldn't order a phone or change my plan because I had a pending phone order. Then during the week at some point that "lock" on my account went away and it was again allowing me to pick a phone and change my plan. Now that my order has gone to a processed status I again am no longer able to upgade my phone or change my plan due to a pending phone purchase.

Hope that helps. As long as you still see a status come up for your order on the status page you are fine.
 
My order was processed as of last night, will recieve in 2-3 days etc. and my bank account was also just billed the full amount. Went into my verizon and when I click upgrade phone, it IS greyed out and says i already ordered a phone that isn't activated yet etc. hope this helps.
That does help me greatly, but I hope this doesn't mean I have to reorder the phone. I don't have the order number as the e-mail is my sister's account and she hasn't responded to me yet today to see if there is an order number attached to it or if she even got one. We also have it billing directly to our account which should have went even faster than using debit/credit/bank. I don't know what's going on. :(

I pre-ordered my phone on the 19th and when I check my order status online it still says
"Order Status: Your order is awaiting approval or phone availability. Please check back in a few days."
I logged into the Verizon website and was able to get as far as you did with my account. Hope the helps you.
 
Mine is 327...939 but my status still says 'awaiting approval.'

i charged the phone to my account, so i wonder if that changed anything.

Well, I had to call this morning because I got 2 separate order confirmation numbers (the VZW site was really messed up yesterday) and the person I spoke to was adamant that it would not arrive until the 29th. I told her that the online chat person had said Monday and even forwarded her the script from the chat. I ended up canceling BOTH orders because they don't seem to be able to find their *ss with both hands right now.

I may pick it up at the local store when they get them in, but the initial poor customer service both on-line and over the phone has me worried.

*611 then 0 will get you CSR. Gonna call on a study break. Wished I was the lucky one that had it already processed but alas I am never that lucky, at least with electronic devices. Someone earlier said they ordered last Sunday and today is showing processed. I am hoping my goes through tomorrow as I ordered on last Monday.

They must be filling the orders of who pre-ordered first. Seems anyone that was able to sneak in on the 18th, their order is processing along with some on the 19th. I pre-ordered mine on the 19th so I'm hoping later today I will see some confirmation.

Very nice... I'm one of the lucky ones, but have not received my tracking number yet...I will be checking my email repeatedly now...By the way did you get tracking number by checking your order status or did it come in an email???
