the reason most people have left is because this thread was to talk about what we hoped the incredible would be/release date info/etc. Now that the release date, specs and such are released and (some) people have (begun) receive their phones, there is no need for this thread (IMHO). I still like to stop by to see if there is any new news, but really its just people putting order info. WE can all now use the forum to its' full benefit...to learn about and enjoy the android operating system and the phones that run them.

lol...You're welcome....and the same from me, thanks to everyone else that gave them a hard time about it.

Customer Service Feedback Message Body: I think it is a very poor corporate policy to treat customers differently. As I have now found that Verizon considers me a 2nd rate (or lower) customer, I have to think I will be shopping companies, and evaluating my options. Shipping the Droid Incredible to select customers on the 20th, while making myself and others wait until the 29th is simply rude. I ordered it on the evening of the 18th, I was among the first in line. Even your own customer service said last night that it showed as in stock, but he could not ship one.

The reply....

My name is Angelo and I am sorry for the confusion with the availability of the new Droid Incredible. The Incredible is not available for shipping until the 29th and this phone was not available for some customer on the 20th.

And my reply...

"this phone was not available for some customer on the 20th"

I'm very curious to know why it is that you think LYING to me is going to make things better.

You can find pictures like the one attached to this email all over this forum:

Because Verizon HAS shipped the the phone to some customers.

Do a little research before you hit send.

That got me this...

Thank you for contacting Verizon Wireless my name is Manuel and I apologize for any confusion encountered with the shipment date of the Incredible. The Incredible was available for pre-order to all existing customer eligible to upgrade as of 4/19/2010 with a delivery date of 4/29/2010. I do understand that some people may have received their devices early, however, the devices were sent to them early by mistake

And, yeah, I gave the CSR hell on the phone about the company he works for. I knew it wasn't his fault, so I didn't make it personal for him, but I sure as hell let him know that I took it personally.

Wow - not sure if the guy who posted this is more of a complete jackass or just a complete idiot?! Probably both I guess.

Bwaaahaaa - he's going to 'shopping companies and evaluating his options'!?!?! I hope the CSR got as big a laugh out of him as I did. Get a life dood.

Just curious... I'm considering ordering online, but was maybe just gonna go get it in stores on the 29th just to get any questions or concerns answered right there. Question though, when you order online they don't pull out your phone and do the little activation process on it right (I mean just the *228 or whatever it is... the programming)?

Where as in a Verizon store, the only real difference is they are gonna pull it out and do that for you correct? When I was at Best Buy in wireless that's what we did, but I always wondered, when you order online you basically get to be the first one opening and handling your phone correct?

I still might order online if this is the case and all the store is gonna do is program the thing for me. That is just dialing a number on the phone. If I'll get the phone ON the 29th still ordering online, then it's cooler to be able to be the first one holding your new phone (sentimental and stupid, but true).

Also, if I place an order say today or tomorrow and I'm in California, it should still show up on the 29th right?

OK, it was great to hearing the news last week about people getting their phones early, providing hope that the 29th was not an absolute date.

Then it was fun hearing about people's status changing and knowing that it wasn't just a couple of mistakes but that there was actually hope for the rest of us.

However, seeing one report after another of peoples' changing status has frankly become a massive waste of time and bandwidth and is getting extremely boring besides. So I wish people would just stop ...

Wait a sec... what the heck? My status just changed to "Processed"! Holy Cow, this is exciting! I can't wait to share the news with the group. HAPPY DANCE TIME!!!!!!

And just realized I'm having it shipped to work. Been a long time since I couldn't wait for the weekend to end so I can get back to work! :);):D

lol :p

My card has a pending charge on it that's $50 more than what the confirmation email said it would be ($158 vs $208). What the heck...
Oh, that includes the tip ................................. :p j.k.

The confirmation email you received for your order should list every item you were billed for. If you're not able to find the $50 charge listed, that is definitely something worth calling them for, and finding out where the discrepancy is.

to program a new phone from online, you can either do it via the *228 method or the your verizon account webpage.

with that said, is it not an option to not have the best buy or verizon folks touch your phone? i pre-bought the phone from best buy, my first from a store, but i was actually planning to just take it home so i can charge the battery first (assuming my resistance isnt futile). does anyone know if we're allowed to reject the store's activation assistance?

nvm...

P.S. Mine says processed should arrive in 2-3 days as well.

Also, my Credit Card was just charged today.

I got overnight shipping so lets hope for Monday!

I've been following this thread for a few weeks and thanks everyone for all of the awesome info! I've learned much! :)
We just passed a new Verizon store and I did a quick u and went in asking if they had an Incredible demo to see. The girl quickly spit out "not till the 29th!". I assured her I wasnt asking to BUY one, I was just wondering if there was a demo. She spat out the same thing (rudely may I add). Then the MGR came up and asked how she could help. I said I was just seeing if they had an Incredible demo to look at. She said a WHAT?? I said an Incredible demo. She said a WHAT?? The other girl rolled her eyes and loudly said "a floor model that she can test out!".
That gave me and my 10 year old a good laugh when we walked out!

I've been hearing this thread will end on the 29th. Is that true? I guess there will be other threads where I can get more info on accessories as they become more available? Thx again!

Went to check status:

Order Number: XXXXXXXXX
Order Status: Your order has been processed. You should receive your order within 2 - 3 business days

That means I can have phone Tuesday or Wednesday!

Where do you check shipping info/tracking number?

What's up with the tv out cable looking like a 3.55 mm input on one end? The video by wirefly shows the video out coming out of the micro usb slot? The pic on the left is what looks to be the one from the video and the pdf is from the launch packet.

I think the pic on the left is a mini usb and not micro usb. I noticed that in the video too. The cables looks like it is for HTC older phone with mini. I ordered one of these cables for 13.99 to check it out but pretty sure it will not work. They make a mini to micro adapter but couldn't charge it at the same time using the adapter. The the adapter only has a male mini plug and female micro usb.

The biggest reason that "I" order any new phone online is that you get the $100 rebate instantly, whereas - in the store, it's a mail-in rebate.

Yes, you will be the first to handle your phone if you order online.

Pre-orders placed online before 4pm local time on 4/28 will be delivered 4/29.

Overnight shipping is business days. So if it ships on a Friday, you'd get it on a Monday. If it processed this weekend, it won't ship until Monday for Tuesday delivery at the earliest.

Why not? Any such policy should be universal, if it isn't, it isn't fair and is bound to create a backlash. Personally, I was happy for those that got lucky and got it early, but that didn't stop me from giving Verizon a hard time about it. What could it hurt? It's not like they were going to go knocking on doors demanding the phones that shipped be given back. Maybe all the feedback is the reason the orders are processing before the 28th.

But it wasn't a policy. It was a mistake. I could understand complaining if they decided purposefully to make some people wait longer than others. And with the current situation, I can see saying, "Man, that sucks I wasn't one of the early ones." I've done that. But what I don't get is to go out of your way to email and call to complain when Verizon is still holding up their end of the deal with you. They said you'll have it the 29th and they haven't broken that.

DAMN YOU CAPITAL ONE and you're fricking overzealous fraud protection. Just got an email from capital one saying we need to verify some transactions, the first one they asked about, was of course for Verizon which they denied because of "suspicious activity" so i called verizon, and they basically said can't do anythign call our internet department, which is closed on sundays, My oreder had finally changed to processing too, now who knows what will happen....ugh.... so much for ordering it on the 19th.....
