You're getting what you bargained for - in fact, you'll likely be getting your phone a day early.
If Verizon can pull it together to ship a day earlier to get a 2-day rate, more power to them as long as it doesn't make a difference on your end.
If they do have a substantially large bump in shipping quantity, it also helps them (and FedEx) to spread the load out over a few days - the result being in the earlier orders getting their phones a day or two early so that they're caught up by 4:00 P.M. on the 28th. This way everyone who pre-orders up to that time gets theirs by the promised release date of the 29th.
As the saying goes, "don't look a gift horse in the mouth."
