Been following from the start, posted very few times as I really had no "inside" of breaking info.

Now we have American "Weinies" suggesting class action suits because they will receive a phone eariler that they agreed to. They did not provide overnight shipping and get it to me on the 29th, they worked overtime to get it out early and thus you received it early. We definately are going through the "Change" that so many voted for. The change is the mindset that I get mine and the hell to everyone else cause I deserve it because - well I just do ask anyone. Makes me proud to be a voting member of this great country that people die to sneak into. Hold you head up and unless you are treated with such lawlessness, just quit your whining. Lets all of us show what makes each of us so proud to be free. We can buy the best, paying for the service from the best provider. We have such great privilages yet so many have been lowered to such groveling as you are being slung into what others want you to believe are "your rights".

Let be proud that we can even post here without someone knocking on your door.

Thanks Verizon for providing me the opportunity to pay you to give me a device and service that will keep me connected to so much for so little better than anyone else can do.

Gos Bless America

By the way maybe Verizon should send an email to everyone who paid for overnight stating you will be getting your phone early with two day shipping for the same cost. If you decline this service we will happily ship your phone overnight on the 28th for delivery on the 29th. You also have the opportunity to retract your order at this time. Please let us know how you prefer us to continue with processing your request.

me and my mom just ordered the incredible. she got a pack of 3 screen protectors and i got a zagg invisible shield. the reviews for that SUCK but i want something to cover the entire front of the phone. is it that bad (will it make screen look crappy, feels bad, looks bad, residue when removed), or should i just use one of those standard static cling ones from vzw website?

sorry for reposting but i don't want to spend hours installing and it suck? any thoughts from experience with zagg?

I personally don't like ZAGG Invisible Shield's for touch screen products. They were fine way back in the days when I had non-touch screen products to protect.

They have too much orange peel effect (small bumps) and they are too rubbery feeling. It is often hard to slide your fingers on the screen and such if there is any heat, moisture, etc.

FWIW: I just confirmed at my local Best Buy that:

1) They don't have the phone in stock even (I pushed them... they said they don't have it, not in back, not anywhere... the manager said "The wait is killing me, I would have ripped one open this morning". I believe them.)
2) The will have DI on Thursday morning ready for sale (I'll be picking up my Pre-order at 10AM... appointment already made)
3) They (my local BB) agreed to price-match the VZW retail cost based on a printout I brought them from vzw.com at $529 vs $599.

Also stopped by my local VZW store to see if I could get my greedy little hands on one for a split second, spoke with the manager: "We have them in stock", He looked towards the back, "but we've been told that we may absolutely not bring the device to the front of the store before 4/29". He finished with: "I like you man, but I could lose my job. I just can't do it."

thanks, do you think then i should just use the standard ones? also do you think the un protected area of the phone will get scratched? it looks like the same material that the back of iphones are made of so i think it will?

Hi everyone. I have an iPhone 3G and am ready to switch to Incredible. I am thinking about ordering today to take advantage of free activation (which ends today) but am having last minute second thoughts because I've not seen and used the phone in person. I have a couple of questions:

1. Is the touch sensitivity on the Incredible at par with iPhone? Better/worse? I understand many may have not used an iPhone but any comments on how good or bad will be helpful.

2. Anything else that you've found that made you think you should have pulled the plug too soon (and waited until seeing in person)? I've read tons of reviews but wanted to see if anyone who's already got the phone may have something I could have missed.

3. Since many of us will be getting the first few batches, can that be a problem? e.g. what if there are hardware issues etc.? Do we always get a new replacement or can it be a refurbished as well?

I'll really appreciate any help I can get on this. Thanks much.

Exactly, I love their stuff too, just not for touch devices. I use them on all my cameras. I had one on my TP and removed it withing a couple of days..

Sad... never thought I'd see this thread deteriorate into one glorified cyber "gossip fence" over "who is getting their phone on what day?" and "why is my order information different from yours?" and so on and so on... not to mention the endless posts of people's cut-and-paste order info from their emails! Come ON, people, if you have questions pertaining to your order, take it up with Verizon - it's absolutely pointless to whine and bitch about it here. :(

yep, this what I've been pointing out yesterday. I cannot understand why people like to come into a thread and fill it with off topic junk, instead of posting the off topic posts in a thread designated for that topic. When I commented about that, I was simply reminded that it is "ok" to post off topic comments lol. I don't get it at all, but hey, stuff like this was allowed, and I don't understand that either. Oh well.

Absolutely man.. I get ya... This thread was always too fast for me to keep up with and extract useful info.. why? because it was full of gossup and chatter. (With the yummy bits sandwiched inbetween) Now that everything has been exposed, we are left with nothing but the gossup and chatter.. I see it as better here than elsewhere... I do not think it degrades the overall quality or epic history of the thread... which will soon be laid to rest..

I disagree, "better here than elsewhere"? To me, it would make much more sense to create a "Pre-orders" thread, and fill that up with this garbage. And yes, it does degreade the overall quality of the thread. There's about 40% quality info, and 60% off topic, and other garbage.

Has anyone confirmed that we will be getting the 2GB MicroSD card or since we preordered too early we won't be getting one? Not that I need one since I already own a 2GB card and just purchased an 8GB card but I would take it anyway. :D
Remember, there is no definite info on if the phones will actually come with a 2GB card yet.

The website says that in the box is an offer for a 2GB card. Knowing Verizon's M.O., I wouldn't be surprised if it is just a form to fill out to mail away for a 2GB card, because they know that many people would never bother to send it in, anyway. That would save them a ton of dough over actually putting a 2GB card in every box.

I also wouldn't be surprised if it is just a slow class 2 card. :o

1. When I got to see it in the back of the store, I found it to be very very responsive. Not overly so (clicking things you do not mean to), but every time I wanted to click something, it worked. I never had to do things twice. My brother has an iPhone, and I used it afterward and was not impressed at all.

2. Nothing on it made me think that I ordered to quickly or that I wanted to go back. I was very impressed and enjoyed it very much. Just made me want it even more.

3. Doubtful. The phone has gone through COUNTLESS tests already to be sure and getting the "first batch" as you say should not be a problem. Hardware is solid and any software issues can be fixed with an update.

Sorry, bud. I was out of line there. Just a bit irritable over the constant stream of posts that all say the same thing over and over and over again. No offense.

I agree but it's actually been kind of fun to watch the stream of order numbers get processed and now beginning to get tracking numbers, but for the new posters who don't know, there is a thread for that. http://androidforums.com/htc-incredible/67387-1st-6-conf-date-ordered-order-status-12.html Lets keep the order status posts and the bulk of that conversation on that thread. It's been much easier for me to follow that topic over on that thread.

Wow, my POS WinMo TP1 takes about two minutes! And locks up about three times a day.. I am really looking forward to getting the Inc.
Yeah, that must bite pretty hard every time you have to reboot. My MotoRizr z6tv doesn't lock up, but because it's a dumb phone with a little screen, I haven't been able to take advantage of any mobile goodness yet. :o

I know you and I will be incredibly happy before the end of this week. :)

1. The touch sensitivity is great. It's definetly on par with the iphone if not better.

2. You might get lucky and be able to play with one at a local VZW store. It's just finding the person that's nice enough to give it to you. I was lucky enough to find one and got to play with it for an hour. It was an awesome phone (didn't want to say incredible...oops just did) and highly recommend it!

3. Verizon is pretty good with testing their product before putting it out. Even if there were issues, I would think they would be taken care of quickly based off of the demand for the phone. I don't have anything on new replacements but I did get a refurbished phone through Asurion before.

Hope that helped!

Also, in the mall the Verizon store is taking pre-orders. Interesting
It makes sense for them to do (unofficial) pre-orders. Every store, and its' sales reps, get credit for all the phones they sell. So, if then can ensure that they have some guaranteed sales the day it launches, all the better for them.

Plus, they probably figure those new handset sales will generate some accessory sales as well, which is just gravy. :)

I see what you mean, but my point is that the "quality" of this thread has run its course. There is nothing really left to discover or expose. Anything useful or important has been pulled out and placed elsewhere for easy access. No one will be coming here after it is closed to get the info that is summarized for them in places like the evergreen thread. If you close this one down, then another will be started with the same chatter, but then it may be new thread after new thread of chatter posts.. rather than tagged on to the tail end of this one. Which scenario would be less a nightmare for mods?

It is really up to them anyways. After many years on BB's I could see it go any number of ways.. I just see staying the course best, as we are creatures of habit.. Anyways, enough debate over that from me, I am fully expressed on the topic..

Anyways, I have to defend this argument. I am as guilty of chatter as anyone, including the thread old-timers who posted countless times about getting to x number of posts, y number of thanks, best places to eat here or there, etc... I carried on a conversation with Nash about being from TN. Is it OK though because it was with him? Of course not.. I am guilty of OT posts, therefore I cannot scorn others for it... Although I bitched about the endless Skype discussions... for my hypocrisy, I am sorry...

Just checked Fedex and my Incredible should be delivered on the 28th by 7pm. Hopefully sooner during the day since I am having it delivered to work.

A little OT, but I am hoping to see Google, HTC, Moto, and the cell phone carriers find a way to get all their phones up to 2.2 when it comes out. It would be awesome to not have fragmentation. But I understand why there is-- Stock gets updated first, the carriers need to get the update, test it and decide if it's worth it to update, and companies like HTC with Sense need to update their overlay. I know it is wishful thinking, but I hope we could get the updates to all Android phones within 1-2 months. It would stink for 2.2 to come out (or 3.0 soon) and be stuck with 2.1 on the Incredible. But again, that is the essence of buying a new phone. Back in the day (eg, even now with non-smartphones), when there weren't software updates OTA, the software you got on your phone was the software you were stuck with for 2 yrs. Guess we're spoiled now :-P

O and can someone point me to the FEDEX document that you can leave signed for them if you are not going to be home when it ships? I thought I read it earlier in the thread.

(ahem..I am trying to be proactive and give info too)
