help me understand why everyone is so caught up in the tracking numbers/status?

VZW said in clear print that deliveries would arrive on the 29th. what's so difficult to understand about that?

id be more concerned about april 30th if i wake up and still dont have a phone in hand.

I want to know so I can tell my roommate to make sure he signs for my package (I work until the 29th)

Valid concern, though its sunday and nothing postal is updating. Also whenever you obtain a tracking number you'll have a few days notice to inform the roommate. Or its safe to say he should expect it on the 29th.

Personally I'm missing the point to discuss the shipping info. Everyone will have a different story, but they are all basically the same thing. Order phone, confirmation email, shipping confirmation email, phone arrives. I don't mind people's excitement, but how many times do we need that info posted?

Basically I agree with you unless there's another Fedex service disruption notice on or near the 29th. I received a notice from Fedex yesterday related to a service disruption but didn't pay any real notice since it was so far out from late next week.

Tonight when I linked to the Fedex package for shipment information, I did note that a service disruption is still listed on the tracking page. Not worried though since there's plenty of time for Fedex to catch up on between now and 4/29.:D

Sorry if the disruption was already mentioned in the "shipment notification" thread.

The reason for many, is that some have received phones early. This gives them hope that theirs may come early also.

Hope is what inspires us as a species. Hope that this life will get better; hope that tomorrow will be a better day, and bring rewards that will bring us to a better place. We need that hope to carry us forward, to persevere, to strive on, through the hard times so that when, finally, we reach our goal, that we know it was worth the work, the effort, the sacrifice.

Many look forward to the one phone, knowing that, since the world is going to end in two years and eight months (12-2012), that they wish to have every... possible... minute... to spend with their loved one....

and their families, too....



It is this dream, the dream of a new and Incredible destiny, that spurs them forward, armed only with their order number....


into the dark....


into the unknown....


into...........

Went to BB today and placed my order! They wanted me to pay the 599.99 but big red has it for 529.99 on the web so they price matched. Can't wait for the snapdragon I have been upgrading every chance I get and this will be my 5th different Android phone. The only difference is I think I might be happy with this for longer than 6 months.
 
Welp. It seems like AF is dying on me (incredibly laggy) so I'll just head off to bed and hope that I'll have a surprise in my inbox when I wake up.

Such a relief to see more So Cal'ers here on the thread.

Question - maybe a VZW person or someone who understands retail business might know.....

I know stores will have varying amounts of Inc in stock, but are stores supplied their actual amount based on market size? Since I am in the Los Angeles market, would there be more units on hand at stores in the L.A. area than say Middleofnowhere, Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, or Wyoming, USA (no offense...)?

I only ask because resident sleuths know that their store will have "x" amount in store and earlier the guy at a Brentwood, CA store found that they will have 30 (that sounds like a lot). I'm one of those that didn't want to deal with online preordering and waiting for an inopportune Fed-Ex truck, and will buy at a store in person that day first thing in the AM...

Yup, looks like the VZW N1 is officially dead... Even if you click on 'Get a Phone' button, they've moved the VZW logo/text up under the Phone + Plans section under TMobile saying to go pre-order the Droid Incredible on VZW's website.

So, looks like all the people that said the DI = VZW N1 were right! :cool:
