Same here. No matter how much I insisted (but still being polite) she said she was unable to apply the $30 discount because that is for new lines.

I'll have to try it later and hopefully I should be able to get it either way ... I ordered a phone and my soon-to-be wife ordered a phone (we each currently have individual accounts) and both phones were on my Credit Card. Evidently, when we go to activate and join one family plan it is the same as "activating a new line" so I am hoping it should work for that to at least cover the activation fee that Verizon wants to charge

That's strange. I just got through charging my wife's Eris 2 nights ago with a mini usb from a portable hard drive. I didn't try sending any data through it, though.

the casing on the phone end of the usb is proprietary, but the pins on any micro usb charger are the same and the standard micro usb chargers/cables WILL work 100% fine..
 
Oh, yes. I just called Verizon and asked them to apply the SMART30 promo code to my Incredible order. He said he couldn't do the discount because I didn't order my phone inside of the promo window, but he discounted the red/black gradient case I just ordered. So now I'm getting my case for free. For all of the complaining about Verizon's shipping methods I've been hearing, I for one think they deserve credit for their kickass customer service.:):):D

Mine finally departed from Memphis it should be here tomorrow I'm in east TN:D

I have NO idea when mine will come ... probably not tomorrow...
I JUST got email saying they shipped it.
they shipped via 2 day priority usps...

does that mean 2days starting tomorrow? or today?
 
Just went to the VZW store here in town and bought my case and a car charger. CSR's there are super excited - telling people to come back on Thursday - they are opening at 8am (but not advertising it), so they can take care of the "saved" phones.

Interesting that the one CSR ordered it online and is having it shipped to her boyfriends house so he can bring it in to her at work tomorrow!!
 
I wonder if they are shipping USPS because of Fedex's problems in the Memphis hub and they needed to get the packages to customers by 4/29

idk, im the only one i know that has it usps...
i think its cus my dad works there and we get 20% discount..
who knows toh
 
I also dialed *611 to get the SMART30 discount. She said I would have to cancel my order and resubmit, but I told her my order was "on a truck for delivery" so she just credited by bill $30. Works for me...
 
In a very Steve Martinesque ("the new phone books are here...the new phone books are here...")way I just ran up the street towards a FedEx truck I saw parked a block away. To paint a picture for you, I am a nearly (eh, over 40 but not by much) PLUS sized woman. I had gotten up this morning to go exercise so I threw on my exercise clothes. Then I checked my email to find out my phone was on the truck out for delivery even though it wasn't scheduled until tomorrow by 7p. So, you have this very plus size woman running up the street with her ID waving her arms at the FedEx guy as he starts to pull away a BLOCK away. He passes me. I yell. He stops. By the time I get back to his truck he isn't even his seat. I hear noises from the back of the truck and he says, "Lisa?" I was trembling, "Yes, that's me." He then hands me the thing to sign and then my phone all the while he is saying he wishes he could get a new phone. I tell him he should get the Incredible blah, blah, blah...all the while clutching it to my chest. We are home. It's charging while I take a deep breath and read the info and then have a private moment with my BlackBerry Curve that has been a perfectly fine phone for my needs and then we will be up and running. I have 4 hours alone with my Incredible before my husband gets home :D

I can't wait for everyone here to have their phones and feel this wonderful, albeit strange, feeling of excitement.
 
I am i the only one who got the wrong tracking number. Apparently Verizon sent me the wrong tracking number and they have that some wrong tracking number in their. UPS has no record of the tracking number that Verizon sent me. So I am pretty much in the blind here. Verizon does have a record of it leaving their warehouse in Ontario this morning and with Next day service it should be here tomorrow. *fingers crossed
