Unfortunately, I think you hit it on the nose. I do think, though, we'll see more leaked info between MWC and CTIA, but CTIA would be the launch point for any announcement about a US phone. I'm now guessing with CTIA being Mar 23-25, this is the foundation for the rumor about Mar 23 being the availability date for the Verizon Nexus One. Perhaps they figure much like Google used CES to launch the Nexus One on T-Mobile and then make it available for convention attendees, they'll do the same here at CTIA with the CDMA version. That being said, I'm not sure how the Incredible fits in because it seems like a competing device and you'd either announce/launch it before or after the Nexus One, not at the same time. Verizon definitely doesn't tend to launch competing devices simultaneously.

I agree- I think (and hope) that the pics and vid are the first of many leaks regarding Incredible, and that the information will keep flowing, regardless of MWC, CTIA or any other possible announcement/release date.

I also agree that Incredible is interesting because we don't know how it fits into VZW's plans regarding the N1. I'm hoping that it releases before N1, because as you point out, we will likely be waiting until several weeks or more passed N1's release if not. It would make no sense to release them both at the same time.

True. There is an article I posted back here:

http://androidforums.com/330613-post60.html

that mentions the same thing.

Another month or so isn't long for me considering I've been waiting since November. It's not just the waiting but being able to resist buying the Droid(especially with all the new updates), which is really a pretty solid phone though definitely not as sleek as the Incredible will be.

It sounds like we are in the same boat. As a fellow Storm user, I can certainly understand the need for a solid phone. Mine is flat-out unusable for anything other than basic texting/messaging and phone calls (the phone being usable is even debatable at times).

Here's hoping Incredible is released sooner rather than later!

if i had to guess that back looks pretty official. i dont think they wouldve bothered to brand it up like that and put the android logos there if it was temporary. either way i dont care what the back looks like, personally i dont think its all that bad. if i do however happen to buy it and start hating the back, ill just put a phone cover on and bingo, problem solved.

hopefully shortly after this convention maybe something else will get leaked about this incredible or even better yet verizon will send us something our way.

@montana man - where did u get that? is that just speculative info youve found somewhere?

www.htcsecret.com Sorry, but it's a restricted site. I'll pass on information to this thread as I am able. However, the information that you're able to glean from this forum (and elsewhere on the Web) is usually within a week or so of what's available to me there.

^^^ yeah I think there are a lot of us like that: BB users that want something better and want to go to Android but hate the Droid form factor.

I posted in another thread, but basically I'm S1, bought the droid, returned it, got a S2, returned it, and still have my slow as hell S1 just waiting for a 2.0+ Droid on Verizon with full touch and no QWERTY. So for me, I'm jumping on the phone that comes out first, whether its Bravo, Incredible, or N1

Crucufixion, I remember seeing your post. I went through the same progression in my mind, and ended up keeping the S1 without actually buying the Droid or S2. I figured that once N1 / Incredible hits VZW I'd regret getting either of the other phones.

Since I don't want / need a hard keyboard, and I do want a larger touch screen with a high-end processor, the N1/Incredible are the phones for me. Unless Google/VZW do things substantially different with the N1 than Google is now, I will get the Incredible- although the back could be more appealing, it's nowhere near a deal-breaker for me, especially since I can use my discount and get service and support directly from VZW. If the Google/VZW arrangement re the N1 is different though, it will be a tough choice as the N1 is definitely a killer phone.

Montana Man, glad you're around and posting... Small caution and word of advice, people's BS radar on this forum is particularly well tuned and we've recently gotten rid of (i hope) a poster who had "inside info" which all turned out to be a bunch of junk and generally available knowledge in the public domain. I would encourage you to share what you can about the nature of this site, where the information comes from, how credible it is, how membership is determined, etc... for the sake of your own credibility and reputation.

I'm not saying you're any kind of fraud at all, but people are quick to pounce when they detect troll/BS/poser/etc... so preempt them and explain a bit more.

Just my 2 cents...probably worth about that much.

Right now, I'm just hoping for a release date that isn't in April. I would love to go to the store, look at it (for up to an hour), and then figure out if it beats the N1. Then, I could finally have a phone. I'm actually very pleased that I've gone from no options to at least a couple.

If I'm Verizon, in which the N1 launch (Google) stole the thunder (some) from the Moto Droid launch, I sure would want to launch the Incredible before the Verizon N1 to get the focus back on Verizon. Let us not forget that CEO's have egos too. I know in the big picture it's all about getting people signed up for plans as that is where the money is, but still...there's gotta be some exec cursing Google for that move.

i dont know if you can go so far as to say the n1 stole the thunder from the moto droid. id be willing to guess that most people didnt have any clue about the N1 comin out. im sure there are others who STILL dont know about it lol.

Does Verizon make any money off the initial sale of the N1? I know they usually don't release competing phones at the same time but I wonder if that is different because of the way the N1 is sold. Because of that, I think it is possible the Incredible and N1 could be released at the same time. Maybe even more likely that the Incredible is released before the N1.

^^ We had a whole argument about weather the network makes money off of the phones. From what I read, they get "bonuses" for selling a lot of one phone. But, there were many theories...

Understood, and point taken. I was asked where I had gotten the HTC Incredible specs that I recently posted so I spoke up. I can assure you and everyone else that I am NOT one to ruffle anyone's feathers or spread false "news." Like I said, that site is a restricted site that I happen to have access to. The information there usually finds its way elsewhere on the web within a week so it's nothing earth-shattering anyway. I am sincerely appreciative to be a small part of such an intelligent community and would like to contribute what I can when I can.

Guy's I guess my friend at VZW gave me decent info when he told me we would hear something around the the time of the Superbowl. Posted it on the Passion thread (Still Confident the Bravo is coming) posts #273 and 811. He has been a life long friend , know him since we were 5. He has been a manager for VZW about 7 years now. I will try to get to him today, I live in NY tomorrow will be a snow day won't be going anywhere. If he gives me any info I promise to drop it here.

I just did a little bit of photoshopping and intense calculus to estimate the dimensions of the phone. Based on a 3.7" screen, I got was a height of ~4.6" and a width of ~2.25". If the screen is actually 3.5", then the height would be ~4.35" and the width ~2.1".

I too have a manager "connection" at Verizon. I'll be interested to know if what he told me today matches what you find out.

Your post below:

http://androidforums.com/255508-post273.html

mentions an Early February release for a new Droid. I'm not too confident that happening for the Incredible with no FCC info as someone already mentioned, but the latch March/April release he mentioned seems reasonable for the N1. Also interesting he said the N1 will be sold in stores. Thanks for following up with him. We're going to get hit hard tomorrow in NJ too.

Excellent and welcome! I'm glad you took my comments exactly as they were intended, just a heads up...looking forward to any additional information you may have.

Do you want to do the same with the back picture and take a guess at the size of the camera and then take a guess at the size of the phone?

I was watching the video of the incredible and towards the end I heard the guy say something in Spanish about the number (veintie y cinco 25). When is the MWC convention?

That's the automatic light sense. Sorry bud, not quite a camera.

Actually it's the proximity sensor for turning off the screen when your phone nears one's face but I suppose it could do both. Just know that HTC describes it as a "Proximity Sensor"...
