Call me optimistic, but I doubt we would see Verizon branding on a phone that had the chance of being scrapped all together. I know Verizon has delayed phones before because of issues, but I HIGHLY doubt the Incredible is going to be scrapped. Companies go into the design knowing what Verizon wants and expects, so I can't see them going into testing phase with something so far from Verizon's standards that it would justify a scrapping.

Also, how many of those scrapped phones have gone through FCC filing (assuming the PB31200 is indeed the Incredible, which would seem to be a fair bet given the battery BTR6300B and Verizon inventory ADR6300 link)? Heck, for that matter, how many different phones have been in Verizon's inventory before being scrapped?

Steven58 sounds a LOT like a guy who has been BOOTED from multiple threads for spreading "insider" information that is not true. I wish I could remember the dudes screen name, but he was booted multiple times.

I am going to stick with the belief that the Incredible is still coming..regardless of what this guy says....

I have a friend at Verizon who just told me that the Incredible was launching tomorrow...he is VERY high up...like Obama high...LOL Whatever people we will see what happens later this month

i was thinking the same thing kind of sounds like newsradio2261 who kept telling us the incredible didnt exist

i didn't say i found it hard to follow...i said he was VERY careful with his words...much more careful than you were on your first post. He said that he could not comment on a device that had not passed yet. You summarized to tell us this guy was saying it had already failed.

Sounds like a typical non-disclosure statement to me.

"Fail" was my interpretation.

FWIW, the VZW not selling the N1 statement was much firmer as they are probably aware of the rumors going around about that.

Don't take this as a anything against you Omega3, it isn't. I'm just sick of blog posts with no evidence to back it up. But thanks for posting anything that may help.

No offense taken man, that was my intent for people to give their opinion on the link/theory that the phone might be delayed. I am personally leaning towards it not being delayed but that is strictly personal opinion.

Are we still assuming that the incredible is the phone that was supposed to be launched on black friday but got delayed several times?? or was that referring to another phone i cant remember off the top of my head.

Let me see: How can I drip my information: Ok.. here goes. Over the years, I have cultivated a relationship with someone high up in VZW, who years ago, confirmed to me that the xv6900 was going to be upgraded to wm 6.1 waaay before the info went public.

Via email I asked this person specific questions about the N1 and the Incredible. I will summarize:

N1: There are no plans to sell the N1 in stores or online by VZW. Google has plans to sell it for VZW but there are no plans for VZW to sell it.

Incredible: Nothing to share as the testing process for VZW is so rigorous that many phones do not even make it through the process.

I might share the letter privately but I want to protect my relationship with my source, who has been very good to me.

I believe this person that the N1 will only be sold by Google. I would be nice if that were not so, but I doubt it.

Incredible: FAIL. Back to to the drawing board.

Meh, the HTC Desire on AT&T is looking better every day. Oh...CRAP...GPRS roam in northern PA where some of my family lives. CRAP. Why, Verizon, do you TORMENT ME! I, for one, hope the Incredible gets scrapped and they ask HTC to spin the Desire by cramming a CDMA radio into it. I'll wait until June for that, and pick up an Eris in the meantime for cheap off Craigslist. I can't f***ing believe that I'm approaching a full year of waiting for a decent smartphone on what's amounting to the nation's most useless network for me. Just think, I could have picked up Verizon's latest offering of year-old technology this time last year and been eligible for a new phone already. If we lived in Europe, we'd have our purchase day for our new phone already penciled into our calendars. F*** the US mobile market.

The last four letters of desire backwards spells Eris.

By extension of this logic then the new phone will be called the 'elbi' when it reaches the streets.

Following that logic, HTC will likely come out with a k1ck@$$ new Android phone 6 months from now called the Incredible. Of course, it will only be available in Europe and eventually T-Mobile. Verizon sure does have some pretty red maps though, don't they? :o

I am telling the truth. This person has given me real information before and I have no reason to doubt the veracity of this. There is no need to boot me. I will be happy to leave. I'm just trying to be helpful by giving the information I have, even if it's negative. Nonetheless, no need to boot me. Say the word and I'm gone.

I hear you, man. I don't get the secrecy with these phones. They're just phones for cryin' out loud and the info surrounding them is locked up tighter than some of our nation's secrets!

How soon we forget Sarab Singh, just days ago using the Incredible. Devdroidian, posted more pictures of Incredible.

Don't take this the wrong way, but I don't believe this redeign theory in the least bit.

Edit: Also I tend to be very optimistic.

+1 great points on the inventory screen and FCC filings. Once you get to this point, you're pretty much there. They have they're advertising kits in the computer, but they're gonna redesign. Me thinks not.

redesign could just be cosmetically speaking. like, changing the backplate and shit after hearing how the public doesn't like the leaked pics. doesn't mean the insides are getting redesigned.

whatever. incredible is coming. end of story. just a matter of when.

Don't leave, you're been very helpful so far. Everyone's just getting a little antsy. You gotta expect that kind of reaction if you run into the burn unit and yell fire.

When the FCC does tests they do all sorts of radiation tests which would be affected by changing the outside. Even if you just changed the case, I think it would still need to be re-FCC'd.

I'm in the sticks of NW PA! I agree with you 100%!

in fact: based upon the info I was given, I may just settle on the DROID.

I'm only the messenger. I feel the same way. I'm asking myself, now, "should I wait to upgrade until the summer if indeed the N1 isn't sold by VZW (I'm on the family plan) or should I just buy the Droid now?"

I totally agree. I just won't jump off a building, I might buy the Droid!

Do you work for MOTO, by chance?

BTW, it's worth noting that regarding the Nexus One sales method and Verizon rigorous testing leading to delays, it's a two-way street. If Verizon isn't selling/supporting the Nexus One, they're not providing any quality control testing on the device nor are they holding up the launch. So if this is the case, and Google is intending to launch on the 23rd of March, then that's when it's launching. Only way the Nexus One is delayed (if it even would be) is if it was being sold directly by Verizon. I've seen both sides of both arguments floating around.

That's what I am thinking. Nice red map! Can I have a cool phone to use on the red map now?

hmmmmm.....didn't know that.
