Not likely, for a few reasons. First, the development of both of these phones have been in the works for a very long time. The design, build, physical specs, etc. of both phones are all centered around the hardware and to change any of it at this stage in the game would cause more problems than it would solve. Even if they wanted to compete with the EVO (which, with the Incredible's confirmed specs, they shouldn't have a problem doing anyway) the way you have described, changing the phone to match EVO's specs would push their release date well beyond summer at this point - it would basically take a complete redesign of the phone.
Second, Verizon has a long history of being very tight-lipped about upcoming releases. They will test the fool out of a phone to make sure it works well (most of the time [see Blackberry Storm]). The fact that they have not released or announced yet probably has more to do with the phone being in the last stages of development than anything else. Sprint on the other hand, needs to pull itself out of a rut and an early announcement of a awesome pfone coming in the summer is a great way to do it.
Third, both phones are made by HTC, so I don't think we need to worry about the phones being able to compete with one another. HTC has worked in conjunction with Sprint and Verizon to make sure that the phones both companies release will be competitive. All parties involved have been in the game for long enough to know what makes for a good phone. HTC benefits from making the Incredible as competitive with the EVO as possible because competition is what drives growth. In the end, it makes them more money to have two competitive phones as opposed to one.
with loud exhaust and everyone always asks why do you sound like a robot lol..oh well if it doesn't no biggie still take it over the N1 for two reasons no multi-touch issues and the it's got a huge advantage with the extra onboard storage.
