These specs are why I am crazy about this phone. 1GB of RAM! Oh my! Perfect for Sense.
Highly doubt it will come with 1GB of RAM. Of course i wish im wrong, but don't count on it coming with 1GB of RAM.

I also feel like battery life is going to be a killer..............1300mh is weakkk

I think we will all be going to extended batteries as soon as they are available..

again, you don't have to pay for it. I do it all the time with the software that came on the phone, and I doubt android is limited by it - especially the droid which also has free gps.

I'm confused as to what you're saying. Are you talking about using the Wifi on the Android device or using it as a tethering device?

I know this question was posted about 200 odd pages back but I never remember seeing an answer and someone's recent post made me curious about it again.

One of the main reasons I was thinking I could "let go" of my hardware keyboard was the N1 feature of voice to text basically available in any text input. Is there any knowledge at this point if this is a native 2.1 feature that will still be available w/Sense (I can't imagine SenseUI would disable that?!?) or if it was somehow a special "Google" feature. I thought the Google Experience phones were just plain vanilla Android w/o any additional features other than what was available in that version of the Android OS. What are your thoughts on this?

On a completely different note, this whole thing is starting to remind me of that Tom Hanks movie "The Money Pit". Everytime they asked a contractor how long something would take, it was always "two weeks" and of course, it never was actually done in such a short time. LOL Sounds waaaaayyyy too familiar right now! But I am hoping we'll actually hear something if not see it in "two weeks" for real! :)

Tethering. I can do it no problem and am not charged. My phone does not get wifi but I assume he meant tethering?

Could it be there is something about windows mobile that is actually better than android? lol

MM has turned into a lurker :)

Actually, he has turned into an attention whore! That's right! He's staying away and stuff.. and we're like... "ooooh we miss you MM... we LOOOOOOVE you MM!" and he's eating it up. (Steven shakes his head again)

:p

But there's a difference between knowingly using the policy to get a phone now because they're impatient, and from those suffering buyers remorse.

Those who abuse the system are the ones who make companies change policies.

Agreed.... however that only reinforces why they should give a release date already!!!! Or better yet.... if they had phones that where worth keeping.... they would not have people buying and returning phones unless they truly were not the phones for that particular person.

In East Kingston, which is not far from Seabrook, which is not far from Newburyport, MA (which is where I work)

Nashua to Kansas, huh?

That's pretty much equivalent to my culture shock of Los Angeles to East Kingston!

Manchester area here. In the INCREDIBLE town of Goffstown :p

I really hope to hear an official announcement about the Incredible soon. Im going crazy

anyone gonna get swype for android for their new incredible? i've never tried it.

I don't have a lot of experience in it, but I'm pretty sure tethering without an additional subscription is not 'authorized'

Us folks in this thread are a small minority, even in the smartphone users demographic. A lot of the people have no idea that you could tether a device. If VZW employees are smart and promote the Pre+ accordingly, they should get a lot of sales off of the Mobile Wifi feature alone. It's a killer feature, and it really shows how much trouble Palm is really in.

No, the deal they have now is BOGO on the Palms PLUS free mobile hotspot with no additional monthly fee- so in all you get 3 devices 1 of which can connect other devices- sort of like a mobile wireless router.

Not necessarily.....those that want just the basic smartphone features won't mind the Pre, plus free Mobile Wifi hot spot is a huge advantage. I could see many people wanting the Pre just for this reason, and I can't say I'd blame them if they don't want a lot of specialized apps, but want a go anywhere email machine with some good social networking thrown in.

Maybe I am just jaded because I tried the moto droid... and am now stuck with a Blackberry. The difference is huge... so I would not at this point even consider paying for a data package that is worthless as far as using the internet. This all started for me because I wanted a different phone because I was sick of the Dare I have had for 2 years. I could have upgraded last summer and didn't because they didn't have any phones I liked. I was not the least bit interested in a data plan, e-mail and intrnet on my phone. I definately got sucked in. Do I NEED that?... not really but now I want it. If I have to pay for a data plan anyway I might as well have one that does me some good and a phone that will actually allow me to load a web page in less than 5 minutes.

I'm not positive about this, but didn't BB introduce their new browser that was powered by webkit, and should improve the load times and such by a lot?

Edit: Here's a link to it
