Well, silly, of course u lose ur NE2. It just depends on how much u want a new device!

Look at it this way, when first released the Moto Droid was 300 with a 100mir. With an annual upgrade you would pay 320 with a 100 mir= final cost of 220.

With a 50 NE2 credit, ur final cost would be 150. So how important is that $70? Worth the Incredible? You decide, but I say yes.

Or of course u can save ur NE2 and ur upgrade and pay full retail, which for the Droid was 550 if memory serves.

Thanks for this info kbusch. What do you know about the one year plans? From what's been discussed before it sounds like you can get a one year deal for $30 over the 2 year contract price. Sure that's $10 more than the annual upgrade on a 2 year deal and you'd sacrifice your initial new every 2, but on a one year contract can't you get a new phone after 10 months instead of waiting the full year? I guess a 2 month difference doesn't sound like much but it could seem like a lifetime when you're waiting to be upgrade eligible.

my friend just bought a storm 2 the other day....

there's no story behind it, but I laughed on the inside when he showed me the phone and told me how awesome it was.

poor soul

I think really it depends on what you want- If email is your thing then BB is the way to go- for apps though sadly lacking, browsing - forget it. Media okay- have movies on mine and I like having Rhapsody but to me the Android devices seem to be more of an all in one toy

hmm then I don't know- I just know that I cant do it with my BB unless I downloaded tetherberry ( frowned on) or bought an additional data package

You may want to check further into it though- I have heard some horror stories about people getting hit with some hefty bills from Verizon. I think there were even some posts about it this morning

I think i'm in the clear. I only used it a few times when at grandfather's where there was no internet (and a couple hours max each time). Last time I did it was about a year ago since normally I don't need my laptop when I visit and my house has wifi and my whole campus does too. I don't really need it, guess I should stop. :(

I don't have the money to go through the court system, but I guarantee you since it was a built-in phone feature and there is no warning it wouldn't stick.

I had a question, this might decide whether or not i get the incredible or the nexus one. I know the incredible is a CDMA phone, so it does not have a sim card slot. The nexus one though, i know that there will be a CDMA version for verizon. But will this phone have a sim card slot? I travel out of the country to see family and getting a phone that can work here in the states and outside the country with a sim card. What do y'all think?

no, not to my knowledge.

Does Android 2.1 atallow tabbed browsing or can you open multiple instances of the default browser?
I don't know as I am currently using WM 6.1. I do know that Opera 10 has all that stuff and I use it with my current phone. I might use it with the incredible if it's better than their browser. I don't know.

Sisaacs... Actually.. the Palms have have a 3g Mobile Hotspot app that turns the phone into the hotspot... that's what they're talking about not the separate mifi device. Take a look at the features here: Palm Pre Plus from Verizon Wireless

At least that's what I believe is being talked about...

hmm not as good a deal then but sure a lot of people will still jump on it and be happy.

not for me though I'm waiting for my Incredible

I'm thinking I'm going to go ahead and get whichever phone comes out first. What's the difference between the N1 and Incredible, I mean really. You've got the same processor, the N1 is sexy and feels good in the hand, has been out longer so i'll be able to root it(pretty easy to root from what I've seen), have the latest android updates and whatnot. I mean so what, 5mp to 8mp, that's what digital cameras are for. And as far as the sense UI vs android, it doesnt matter if you have it rooted. With all the ROMs that will be out I'll be able to have sense if I want it. My friend has sense on their droid right now.

Sine have said yes, it will be a world phone, others have said no. No one has really leaked a CDMA N1, so we really don't know at this point.

The default Android browser DOES feature tabbed browsing, and has for quite some time.

I would get rid of the pic as someone got in trouble for this..... I am not against that just not in this thread as we have been warned already about this. Just repeating what I read

It looks like a decent pic of the seattle space needle and some girl happened to walk into the shot while the picture was being taken.

Don't worry he will return it or want something different soon. I have the same phone and yesterday it was sitting on the kitchen counter and it just shut down and reset itself. This happens every few days. I can't wait fro the Incredible so I can ditch the BB.

This argument has gone on about 157523484 times, you have all the right to get an N1, but in 75% of aspects the Incredible is a superior device, and is super sexy.

The N1 is a great device, that i originally wanted but has been plagued with issues with 3G, GPS, multitouch, the finish peeling/rubbing off, and the nightmare of trying to get Customer Service.

For me, I trust Verizon with my Incredible. lol  :D
