Please stay away from the word "gay"...it's in the official Forum rules.

On topic, even my multitouch maps on Droid still have the "homosexual" zoom icons...pinch is there, but so is the standard button zoom.
I was refering to this post anyways
Ya'll are missing the point...calling something "gay" or "homosexual" in this context is offensive to gays, regardless which word you choose. The words are offensive when equated to something inferior, or bad, or ugly, or ineffective, or stupid, etc.

If something stinks, it stinks. Its not "gay" or "homosexual."
I really don't care what you think

I've never seen a phone User Manual on 8.5 x 11 paper before. There has just been WAY too much crap out there for me to get excited over this. There's nothing I would like to believe more, but we just can't be sure.

It's not on paper at all. It's electronic only. Most things are doing this now to save money on printing manuals (oh and that whole save the planet thing too).

EDIT: And how in the world can you think a 206 page pdf manual is a fake?

I respectfully think there are some information errors being posted, due to the spec sheet and the manual posted. I joked earlier, but interns seem to really be putting the information together and nobody is supervising / reviewing the content (usually the product manager's job in marketing). Then again, the device has not been officially released, so perhaps the info is not ready to be published.

1. Very doubtful 8gb is built-in. Why would HTC make two main circuit board designs for the Desire and Incredible? HTC would not be so cost-dumb for production. 8gb is probably a micro sd card.

2. The ram is 512mb or 576mb. Why add 64mb, unless Desire will also see an engineering rev change?

3. Flash Lite probably is on the device and 4.0 makes sense :)

Please note that both the "i" source has errors and repetition and the manual has errors too. Neither source can be considered a "trusted" source for information as a result.

Let's hope the quality of the device is better than the current reference materials ;)

Update: BLD, I think your suggestion makes sense in regards to chip die verses memory module and the 64mb.

Maybe by 'built-in' they actually mean that they were kind enough to put the 8gb SD card into the SD card slot for you so you don't have to do it. And since it's already in the phone, it's not considered in the 'contents'

Maybe?

ok kids, I'm going home from work.... I miiiiiiiiiight be on later, I dunno. Try not to fight while I'm gone. :)

Anyone concerned about battery life? I guess we won't know until reviews come out, but I, for one, am a little concerned.

(Wonderful news today, sorry to be a downer...)

At least with the N wifi, which is more efficient than G, thereby not being as much of a drain, that will help a little bit.

Really need to know if multi-touch will be fixed on this or if HTC just doesn't know how to make it work.

NKT advised about a 100 pages ago that it was not a problem for the Inc

EDIT: I obviously type too sssslllooowww since NKT replied while I was typing....

Can't wait for my first smartphone!! Wife has an iphone, which is great, but android for me.

Anybody know if the Incredible will have sync capabilities like the new iOS4?

Perhaps since it looks like it will be electronic only, they felt that a standard size format would not only be more readable, but also more convenient for people to print from their home computers.

Anonimac, are we going to be seeing any new information soon?

dude, seriously...i'm winded as $hit after the day this has been with tipping, watermarking, file type/size/resolution quotas, security tokens, etc...

I know you want more, i do too! There may be another nugget or two rolling in over the next few days but i wouldn't hold my breath.

Old Persian/Muslim proverb...

Lets just be happy with what we have at least for 24 hours!

Viperboy, i've read through here and seem to come up with conflicting answers. Are you able to disable sense, out of the box? Obviously we'll root and burn custom rom's but just wondering if sense can be disabled.

Yes, Sense can be disabled.

As far as disable, if it's anything like the Eris when I put 2.1 on it, you can choose to use the 1.5/1.6ish home screen as default if you want, but I didn't think it could be fully disabled, NKT. Can you explain a little further? It might be quite simple, but because I hated my Eris, I didn't care to find out alot more lol

It's probably going to suck, especially after the fun ROMs and overclocking shenanigans haha

Wow. More Incredible manual errors? Unless the design is VERY different inside, seems either the manual is more wrong, or different designs (not just cosmetic).

The Desire has the card positioned so you must remove the battery (lame like Droid and Nexus), but Incredible's manual clearly shows the card slot on the side (page 17) and accessible without removing the battery (nice). Here is the Desire review and at 2 minutes in, you see where the card slot is. YouTube - HTC Desire review - part 1 of 2

Something is not adding up here (not just my poor math skills).

Just because it is like the Desire, doesn't mean that they need to have all the hardware exactly the same. I'm not sure what isn't adding up

I mean seriously, it has been on the "confirmed" list on the evergreen thread for over a month and hundreds of pages of posts...

A Persian proverb and I haven't heard of it!!

I want it written in Farsi!

Are we really having "fake" discussions again??? come on guys... We have better things to discuss than that. Anyone who points at inconsistencies, spelling errors, etc... has never worked for a Fortune 500 company and been a part of change management.

Too bad the USB is on the left side rather than on the bottom. Harder to use when plugged in and holding left handed. Also makes a cradle need to have the phone sideways.

Perhaps disable is the wrong term. You can use the stock android home screen instead of the pretty Sense UI. It doesn't quite remove all traces of Sense. So what you did with the Eris is the same that can be done with the Incredible.

Now, if you want to completely remove Sense UI that's gonna take a ROM update.

The significant design change and the expense of doing so. very odd for HTC to make significant changes like this, besides cosmetics with case and some radio changes.

You guys, please forgive me. I'm not tech savvy AT ALL. Trying to get this together was like pulling teeth, and it's not even that good...I thought this might just be a VERY basic help to some people...if it's not, or inaccurate, please disregard!!

EDIT: Things like this should be left to anonimac...

I just have ZERO inside info, so I try to contribute where I can...
