Look, guys. Instead of badgering the few people around here with real information (if I see one more "ZOMG WHAT IS NKT DOING RIGHT NOW??"...) people could try Googling things for basic information. This includes information about what plans Verizon offers and how to deal with Android, since this is a thread about one specific phone.

How to disable Sense UI on any HTC Android phone with Sense UI (which includes the Incredible)

i guess class 2 would be ok. But i'd like to know that when need be, my SD card won't be slowing me down, whatever the reason. Like when i want to put music on it when i first get it. I don't want to have my phone hooked up to the computer for a hour waiting for it to write

Would be interested in hearing the argument for/against from anyone that has had an experience with both card types in an existing phone...

I don't have experience with microSD cards, but I do have experience with SD cards in camera's (DSLRs). High speed cards are important for shooting continuous frames per second (fps). Read and write speeds will be slower with lower class cards, but unless you're moving a lot of files simultaneously (or some similar task) I would assume you shouldn't have any problems.

Also of note is that a card's class isn't everything - brand goes a long way, and even class 6 cards may not perform as advertised in real life. In other words, most of the time, you get what you pay for.

so is class 4 fast enough?

Not positive, but a slower card will most likely make that sort of waiting time longer.

Read/write speeds are slower with lower class cards. So large amounts of data will most likely take longer to transfer (on or off the card).

Yes, I have been lurking for what feels like a lifetime waiting for this phone. I have been with Verizon since they were Airtouch. Did I just age myself?

First, I want to thank you for all of the information you have imparted over the past couple of days. Today was exciting and then a bit of a let down as we still have to wait. If patience is a virtue...well, then, you know ;)

My husband has a Droid and loves it. I have an old BlackBerry Curve.

Speaking of curve...there is definitely a learning curve here. So many terms are being tossed about. Honestly, I am having a bit of a time figuring some of it out. Rooted is one that I am still unsure of. And, do I want to keep the ROM that comes with the phone or...? Ack. I just want the darn phone!

As far as the ridiculous comments about the UG being potentially faked and then others talking about interns and such working on them. Here is the thing. I worked in publishing for years. I worked for a HUGE publishing house in sales and marketing. I can remember sitting on my couch in my pajamas proof reading copy over Thanksgiving weekend because we were going to print on a big academic catalog on the Tuesday after. Not to toot my own horn, but I'm smart and I catch mistakes, but of course some made it through. Now, this isn't to say that some intern was working on the Incredible User Guide in her pajamas but you get my drift.

And, my husband is definitely the geek of my dreams but I have to say after the past couple of days I think I am sporting some super geek crushes here. So, thank you for the day dreams boys and girls! Looking forward to more ;)

I went to one of the Verizon stores today where there was an over abundance of employees for once, all kind of standing around. I mentioned the Incredible, and it turned into the Spanish Inquisition; short of taking me in the back room and flogging me, they were like "Where did you hear about this, what is the side, where is your hidden base" in short all I was told was to sign up online for updates and I'll get a text when new devices are available and that the website might have it before Best Buy. I was allowed to go free, but I get the feeling I should call my Captain for a security debrief...

LOL, I went into a store today and told the "doorman" (for lack of a better term) I was interested in becoming more acquainted with the data & pricing plans for the android phones. When he mentioned the Droid & Eris I told him I wasn't going to be getting a phone for a couple weeks when this really "incredible" htc phone I know about is being released.

After playing with the Eris for three or four minutes, I started to leave when the doorman stopped to introduce me to one of his sales guys and had him give me his card. Told me, "sometimes we get busy without any real notice. If you call me and let me know you're coming I can put something aside and probably save you an incredible amount of time."

Toying with me? Maybe. Did I care? No. It was awesome!

This.

I have a Class 2 16 GB MicroSDHC card in my Blackberry Storm, and when I try and transfer anything to it, be it over USB or via a card adapter for my laptop, it takes almost 4 hours to transfer 5 GB. I've had an 8 GB in there for over 6 months and transferred 8 GB in less than 45 minutes usually regardless of connection, and I'm pretty sure that card was a class 2.

The one in the Storm originally was from Sandisk though and the one in my phone now is unbranded but I think it's DATAsomething or other.

I need a fast card because I guarantee I'll be transferring my music/movies on over to this device ASAP.

No. Not sufficient. I am an........up top guy ifyaknawmean

Sorry, no dice. Our friendly neighborhood guide just jumped my case about the links (which contained no nudity and to which no one else has voiced objection that I am aware of) and he might ban me. Guess you gotta find your own eye candy. And if he goes ahead and boots me, enjoy your INC when you get it.

funny i just got an class 2 16gb microsdhc and it took me less than an hour to transfer 14.3gb(which the real capacity is 14.8gb)
got it for $25

They probably won'y have any major accessories ready when they release the phone, but if they were smart they would. I imagine accessories are mostly all profit because they are all made of cheap components and are probably sold for a 400% markup. They could make tons of money just on cases and docks alone.

There is always some stock of accessories at launch- some arent released until after, but there is always a pretty good stock that comes in with the devices themselves- accessories is a pretty key metric that they measure heavily..
