I would really love to pick up this phone, but would also hate to miss out on Android 2.1's speech-to-text feature. I've looked at some reviews of the HTC Desire overseas, and do not see the feature included in the latest version of Sense UI keyboard. The Incredible feature list include "advanced speech recognition," but I wonder, will the Droid Incredible provide the microphone dictation icon as an input alternative?

I see that the feature was included as part of the Motorola Droid 2.1 upgrade, so I'm optimistic, but worried that Sense UI will omit this feature.

Not sure if this has already been posted...

Epic 500th post?...CONFIRMED

You think this is pretty good? You ain't seen nothin' yet...Phandroid FTW!:)
Anon - Thanks, this is great news!

Any word on that review by a blog that has the word "gadget" in it? I know a lot of people are ready to buy this sight unseen (and for good reason) - but I'm wondering if we'll be able to read any 'incredible' reviews before it hits.

So pre-order means what exactly? That we can get them right away? Or it is shipped when they have them?
If you don't get it right away, I'm not sure I see the point.
Can someone of a higher power answer?

According to the User Guide the incredible has this feature.

I am guessing that means you will have the phone on the 29th. Don't flame me for mentioning the devil but Apple does the same thing and just did it with the iPad.

I see that both Advanced Speech Recognition and Speech to Text are listed as part of Android 2.1 and "next generation Sense UI."

Anon -
Thanks for the info!
Did you also get access to the NRP sheet that's referenced with the retail pricing? I know we've seen the screenshot with Best Buy pricing, but didn't know if Verizon's NE2 pricing would be there too.

Anon = genius

Two questions:

  1. What is the confidence that the microsd max capacity is 16gb for a total of 24 gb (with the 8gb onboard)?
  2. I see no WiFi on your latest scoop Anon, is that just a ommision from the source or do you think it is not making it to the release?

2) it says "wifi capable" on the sheet.

I saw an app on the marketplace that would let you create your own ring tones from MP3's.

no need to download anything from the market. as for as i know all htc phones comes with a ringtone trimmer preinstalled. all you have to do is load up the song that you want and use the ringtone trimmer app to make a ring tone. and then you can assign a specific song to a specific contact.:Di do it with my eris all the time

I just arrived at work this morning (a little late) and was wondering how long it would take me to wade through the 10+ new pages since I was on last.

I Decided to take my chances, forego the many "OT", yet HIGHLY entertaining posts (insert Steven58 "burn" here), and just skip straight to the last page -- and look what I found....The most EPIC of epic posts ever posted!

Now THAT'S incredible!

THANKS ANON! GREAT TIMING!

(P.S. I'm just as sick of all of the "incredible" plays on words as the next guy....but this one worked for me....sorry!)
