Yikes, its deja vu all over again. Verizon used to say that any wifi on a cellphone had minimal value, because "the network" was so awesome. Thankfully, popular demand eventually forced Verizon to change their tune ... much, much too late in the game.

By the same token, you should be mad than wifi n got dropped -- not complacent. Its not until the consumers demand better specs that Verizon listens.

I, for one, am sad that this phone has weaker specs than I was led to believe. I'll still buy one, but it'll be more likely to be returned now.

ugh that was utterly useless - and I forgot the BBY model when I was there so on the phone with them now to see if they can check their pre-order date ...no luck, I was told to check back in a couple days. I'm sure someone here will let us know sooner though

"Dropped"? How do we know it was there to begin with? The leaked documents can't be considered definitive, and there was no independent confirmation.

Q2: Right now on the VZ website the droid bland is available to me for 299 - 100 online discount = 199 total. Would you expect that to be the same for the Droid Incredible based on the announced pricing?

Just called VZW. I was planning on asking about how the rebate would work for the Incredible if I ordered it online. The woman I talked to said that she had never heard about that phone. I told her that I was looking at the sign-up site and HTC's press release then I asked her if she still didnt know anything about it. She put me on hold and came back saying that "no one" around her had ever hear anything about this phone.

Verizon is amazing. It gets announced and the still deny it.

Wait . . . does this mean it's the end of life as we know it on THIS thread now? Since VZW is now actually releasing info and we don't all have to come to one place to collaborate about what morsel has been found "out there" that keeps us all going. Now that the proverbial cat is out of the bag so to speak, what will ANON, MM, or anyone be able to scoop?


I'm sticking around, b/c if one thing I've learned over the past few months is . . . it will be before and better than what BIG RED has to offer. TY to all that have contributed here.

My local corporate store opens at 9am - what kind of demand do you guys expect to see? I know it won't be like the apple store on ipad day (blech) but will there be a crowd do you think? Will they (god forbid) run out?? I wonder how many Incredibles each store will stock?

Fair point, but I'm looking for specs that would make this phone "best in class" -- not "same as the rest." I won't mention the other phone I'm evaluating because it generates hateful responses in this thread, but wifi n was one feature the Incredible had in the "plus" column over any other phone. Now, I have to deduct from the Incredible's score.

I asked him that I want to know about the discounts I can get through ordering online, but he states he doesn't know how much the phone will be. I told him that these 2 links give you the official press release, however, he still said he didn't know about it, but only knew of the Droid Incredible sign up site.

i was due for ne2 on feb 28th and so if you preorder online and ur due for ne2, u think it will ask u and tell u that youll have the discount and have the phone for $99?

I am pretty sure they do. I have always had to sign for my phones delivered through FedEx from Verizon. To be safe, I usually put a note on my door saying that if no one answers, go to the neighbor and have them sign.

u can leave a note with ur signature and the tracking number and tell them to leave it in front of your door or somewhere
