costco
vzw- tho the "training" really does no good. we probably know more than they do.
bb

i doubt bb is going to sell early, but different places have different meanings for "pre-sale." i guess we'll find out in the next day or so...
actually i heard the vzw training was pretty good. plus they answer whatever questions u might have.

For FM radio to work on the phone you need a wired headset to act as the antenna. The phone itself will not pick up a signal. And no, you can't jam a coat hanger wrapped in tin foil to help reception either.

Just like someone else said:

If you order online, you can take to to a retail store to deal with issues.

I have oredered EVERY phone I have had through VerizonWireless.com. When my LG Chocolate screen died, I took it to the store and they replaced it for free. When the touch stopped working on my LG Dare, I took it to a retail store and they replaced it for free.

I just don't know if I want to order online this time because I can't skip work like I could skip class in college.
Yes but it was my understanding that in the first 30 days you HAVE to contact the online support. Thats what I care about with being an early adopter. If I have to go to the web site, and they are sold out, it could be quite some time before I see a replacement

Is there any advantage to buying phones at BBM vs verizon corporate/verizon online since everyone keeps talking about it??

also, if I do buy a phone from BBM, can I get it serviced (should the need arise) at a corporate store or do I have to go to BBM?

Can we get a firm yes or no answer on 720P?
The leaked ROM from a week or two back seemed to indicate yes, but if so, nobody is saying it. The silence is deafening! And if no, what IS the resolution for video capture?

When HTC announced the Desire...has sense 2.1 and a 5 mp camera...they said 720p video will be enabled by a future update...the EVO was announced as having 720p video, BUT it was running a work in progress ROM...The Incredible has a consumer ready ROM and from what we know, probably the same 8mp camera...so theres a great chance it WILL support 720p, but not until a future update enables it

Is there any way to turn off data so when I travel internationally, I wont get hit with huge roaming bills for data usage?
The phone doesn't have the WCDMA/GSM radios so I don't think it's possible to roam since it's not a world phone only thing that will work is wifi.

That's good to know, but what if you receive your phone at 7pm on the 29th, it has a dead pixel and when you attempt to go to Verizon they are sold out for the next 2 weeks? My solution guarantees you have a pristine Incredible on day 1, when the store opens, without any defects.

yes ...oooh found what I'm looking for ...something like this
antenna01.jpg

FM Antenna - Listen to u'r Phone Radio without Earphones <- Nokia FM Arial antenna ....my friend works for Nokia so I'm asking him right now if he has an extra one for me ;) or if it will even be compatible - looks like 2.5mm jack
Neat, but that doesn't guarantee it'll work on the Inc. You'll also need software support for it. Some devices automatically route sound through the headphone port if it detects something is plugged in there, and they may not offer a way to override that setting.

Do we have any information if Verizon retail stores will be opening early for the release of this device, or is the going to be just another regular business day for them?

do what works for you dude.

not everyone can take off work to get to a local store butt early on a thursday morning. waiting a few hours won't kill me and i'm sure my phone will be fine.

Yes, that's what I'm going to do. I'm going to use another phones new every 2 discount and when the phone's delivered, I dial *228 send and the press option 3, then follow the directions and the phone is activated on my line.

Ok, here's the sitch for everyone doing an "alternate upgrade":

(Assuming you ordered online)

1. When the phone comes, you need to accept the new contract before you can activate it
2. So you call the 1-877 number listed on the instructions
3. Enter the number of the line that you took the upgrade from
4. That will take you through the contract acceptance and then you can activate the phone by calling *228, option 1

Did anyone notice the total phone space at .92GB? And the available was like .89GB?

Does that mean the phone has 1GB of phone memory or is that added to the internal phone storage to get to the 8GBs?

Based on the allocation of the storage, it appears the built-in memory is being used for apps and the 512mb rom is not used for apps (accept for the OS). If not, we should see a couple hundred more free megs, since the 512mb rom would be half OS and then free storage (like Droid and Eris).

haha, that is why my post was aimed at people that wanted it ASAP. For everyone else, preorder will work just fine.
